100 HOURS OF PRAYER FOR SBC

Greetings, "Who knoweth if He will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind Him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the Lord your God?"  Joel 2:14 "Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away form His fierce anger, that we perish not?"  Jonah 3:9 This is a protracted and focused time of prayer for SBC life.  One can imagine the difficulties, in the 100 year prayer meeting of Zinzendorf, in the 1700's.  The 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC is not without its issues either.   But God calls us to be 'houses of prayer' and a people of prayer.  And God never does anything, till He sets His people to pray.  We are in a desperate plight for our nation, homes and future.  And the church is in an urgent need for a move of God upon us.   Therefore, this call to prayer is set before us now, August 7 - 11. What do we hope to accomplish by this protracted & focused time of prayer?  It is found in the above 2 verses, 'who knows if God

PRAYER EMAIL - JULY 22

Greetings, "Ye shall be holy; for I the Lord your God am holy."  Leviticus 19:2 "Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy."  I Peter 1:16 First, let me thank you, for those that prayed for our Solemn Assembly last week!  God met us there!  What I had intended to be an hour and 1/2 or two hour prayer meeting, lasted 3 hours.  And the comment by many was, 'We went 3 hours; I thought it was only an hour."  And I remembered the words of AW Tozer, 'in revival, all time ceases'.  Now we are not in revival, but God is very real right now among us!   Secondly, as I told several of these local pastors, "I cannot imagine why God would call us to this Solemn Assembly, followed now by 100 Hours of Prayer; unless He was getting ready to do something."    Thank you for those of you signed on to pray with us, and for us. Thirdly, God worked wondrously in a big way yesterday!  Balancing the Solemn Assembly, and two 100 Hours of Prayer, has pushed

PRAYER EMAIL - JULY 15

Greetings, "What is the Almighty, that we should serve Him?  and what profit should we have, if we pray unto Him?"  Job 21:15 The focus of these prayer emails, has always been to bring before you that continually call, 'pray'.  And over the years, to hear so many Christians and churches that confessed, 'I/we have no prayer life'; has been a great sorrow to me.  To this, the Lord has set me to be busy &  to be a catalyst to call the church and Christian men and women to prayer.  It has been my own pursuit, to call and have Him answer me, 'Lord, teach me to pray.'  So let us answer these two questions set before us here. What is the Almighty, that we should serve Him?  - we know as His children, that it is our greatest privilege and place to serve Him.  We praise and thank Him for salvation and all His wondrous graces and mercies.  We deserve nothing; and yet have received the greatest of His benevolence upon us.  He is worthy of our love, fear, obe

PRAYER EMAIL - SOLEMN ASSEMBLY

Greetings, "For how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people?  or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?"  Esther 8:6 We live in a day, in which, with many reading this verse, will be foolish enough to ask:  'evil? what evil?'  . . . destruction? what destruction?'  For they do not know the high costs of sin.   They do not know the 'exceedingly sinfulness of sin'.  We must know our wretchedness, in order to adore His marvellous grace and redemption.  Far too many are being 'led to the Lord' for salvation, without knowing what they are being 'saved from'.  The perpetual increase of sin and abominations in this day and our society before the Lord, has caused us to watch great plagues upon our land and our generation,  How long can a nation provoke the Lord to wrath and fury and anger? And never expect to receive for their deeds.  They know the God of blessing, but do not know the God of cursing.  He is both

100 HOUR OF PRAYER - JULY 24 - 28

Greetings, "Continue in Prayer" Colossians 4:2 "Pray without ceasing" - I Thessalonians 5:17 "but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him."  Acts 12:5 As I wrote in the prayer email from Saturday, and have shared and announced this past Sunday with the churches: we have set the 100 Hours of Prayer. When:  July 24 - 28; Start:  7/24, 8 AM (EST); Finish:  7/28, Noon (EST) Time Slots - 15 minute increments; Normally, we only do 70 - 80 hours of prayer and then the 100 Hours of Prayer at the end of the year.  But we are in desperate times for a move from God.  Many of us rejoiced as we experienced and heard the moving of God's Spirit on college campuses.  But we did not see or hear of many church bodies and assemblies, experiencing the power of God.  We saw and heard of an increase of fruit from the Lord.  And we thank Him for all that.  However, to me, this was only a sample, a small portion, of what we know God is able and willing

SOLEMN ASSEMBLY - JULY 16

Greetings, "Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry unto the Lord, Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come."  Joel 1:14 - 15 The Scripture is clear, especially here in Joel, that when God sends and allows severe judgements to happen, the church is to call for a Solemn Assembly.  Designed specifically to set aside time, place and God's people, the church, to get before God and seek Him for His Divine help.  And out nation and the church and our families are in great trouble.  It is time to seek the Lord; for only the Lord can help us.  We are seeing and experiencing great judgements that are leading to death and dying.  Severe and cataclysmic judgements that are falling upon the church and our nation  We must come together to seek the Lord, call upon His name and ask of Him to send revival and a spiritual
