PRAYER EMAIL - JULY 15

 Greetings,
"What is the Almighty, that we should serve Him?  and what profit should we have, if we pray unto Him?"  Job 21:15

The focus of these prayer emails, has always been to bring before you that continually call, 'pray'.  And over the years, to hear so many Christians and churches that confessed, 'I/we have no prayer life'; has been a great sorrow to me.  To this, the Lord has set me to be busy &  to be a catalyst to call the church and Christian men and women to prayer.  It has been my own pursuit, to call and have Him answer me, 'Lord, teach me to pray.'  So let us answer these two questions set before us here.

What is the Almighty, that we should serve Him?  - we know as His children, that it is our greatest privilege and place to serve Him.  We praise and thank Him for salvation and all His wondrous graces and mercies.  We deserve nothing; and yet have received the greatest of His benevolence upon us.  He is worthy of our love, fear, obedience and service.  And I hope as you mature and grow along in this old world, that the privilege and opportunities to serve Him, places a greater weight upon each of us.  We must serve Him; for His kingdom, will and ways, is all that matters.  Everything of our lives, and world that we make it, shall pass away.  But His kingdom, shall endure forever.  Labor not for that which passes away, but for that which endures.

And I believe, that one of the reasons that we grow in service to Him, is because we learn more about Him.  He, Who is Almighty, we are to grow in grace and knowledge of.  The church and individual Christ is to know Him and to continually learn of Him.  When we have read or heard or seen a church, Christian that stops growing; sin in near and a backsliding is on their horizon.  The Apostle Paul prayed it, and went after it, 'that I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection.'   And so many great prophets and preachers have declared of this generation of the church in North America, "we don't know God, nor do we know His Word.'  Thus, a standard to our prayer life, is to know His Word and to know Him.  To know Him,  Who wrote the Word and meets us in prayer times.  Know God; and be known of Him.  'For I know your name', "I know you"; saith the Lord.  Learn more and more of this Almighty God and serve Him well.  Bear much fruit in Him by abiding in Him, and drawing near unto Him.  And there will no fear at the end of hearing those words, 'well done, good & faithful servant'.  But remember, God is a God that cannot lie.  And He will not say, 'well done', to those that have not 'done well'.

and what profit should we have, if we pray unto Him?   - what a question!  and how much more will be our answer!  Why, the very fabric of our existence in this world ebbs and flows by the very power of prayer.  Should we pray unto Him?  I have stressed the continual verses in Scripture, that I need not recite them at this point; but we are to pray without ceasing and continual.  For all that happens in this world is directly due to those that are praying or those that are not praying.  Found throughout Scripture are two phrases that answer this question for us, 'shall it profit us to pray unto Him?'  And it is found in the phrase, 'call & answer' and the numerous times in which God in His faithfulness heard us and answered us.  The second phrase is the contrast of that, 'they called not upon Me'.  Those that refused to pray, to prevail, to advance His kingdom and will.

Look upon these two contrasts and consider its immense value of prayer:  call or call not.  Those that call upon the Almighty God have a testimony to speak.  Souls are saved, healings have occurred, provisions have been given, His kingdom advances, future is changed for His glory, and comfort and peace is found in resting upon the Rock of Ages.  Time and space does not afford me to share with all that is revealed to us about those that have called, and He has answered.  But I would simply ask of you to rehearse two or three 'call & answer' in the Bible that declares His greatness.  And then recall 2 or 3 'call and answer' in your life time for you or your church that testifies to His wonder.  Found within this truth is the consistency, that God declared it, 'if you call, I will answer'.  What blessing and answer to come from remembering how He has done it.  And that it lays within us the truth, to continue in calling upon Him.  Many today, want the answer, without the calling.  But if we are faithful to call, He will be faithful to answer.

Lastly, consider 'calling not'.  Give thought to a moment, that the great evil of our day, and of any time in history, is when His church and people were not calling.  Any great evil and sin came, when we were not calling.  God is ready to answer, but are we ready to call?  for many they grow weary; even though we know, 'grow not weary in well doing, for in due season you shall reap if you faint not.'  Many in the church have grown cold in their prayer life.  Others things more pressing, no priority for prayer.  Far too many churches without an hour prayer meeting one time a week, or at least one time a month.   Hell advances when the church is found prayerless.  Why are things as they are for our future, nation, families and lives?  Because someone stopped calling.  The incense from the golden bowls before the Lord, has gone to an all time low.  God forbid on our watch brethren!  Christ rebukes the church and any of as Christians about this sin of prayerlessness, 'You ought not to have left these things undone.'

So why are we doing a Solemn Assembly, why are we doing (2) 100 Hours of Prayer?  Because of the answer to this question, 'is there any profit in prayer unto the Almighty?'  Yes there is!  Therefore, we must be intentional and make it a priority to come often before Him and make our request known.  We must cast all our cares upon Him, for He careth for us.  We must advance His kingdom forward, and put hell on retreat.  And none of these blessings, miracles, salvations, revival or spiritual awakening occurs without someone praying.  Brethren, be a man or woman of prayer; and labor to make your church a house of prayer.  As for me, God has placed upon me, 'spend and be spent' for the cause of prayer in my own life, others and His church.  There is no victory in Christ and His kingdom apart from someone praying and prevailing.
