SOLEMN ASSEMBLY - JULY 16

 Greetings,

"Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry unto the Lord, Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come."  Joel 1:14 - 15

The Scripture is clear, especially here in Joel, that when God sends and allows severe judgements to happen, the church is to call for a Solemn Assembly.  Designed specifically to set aside time, place and God's people, the church, to get before God and seek Him for His Divine help.  And out nation and the church and our families are in great trouble.  It is time to seek the Lord; for only the Lord can help us.  We are seeing and experiencing great judgements that are leading to death and dying.  Severe and cataclysmic judgements that are falling upon the church and our nation  We must come together to seek the Lord, call upon His name and ask of Him to send revival and a spiritual awakening.  

We have been here before; with great tragedies and calamities happening upon our land.   They are hastening to destroy our nation and hope for a future.  Time is an issue with all this, as they are dying faster than they are being reached for their eternity.  The church is shrinking, powerless, largely prayerless, and more carnal than spiritual, more temporal than eternal, and more fleshly than holy.   We must seek God for an outpouring of His Holy Spirit and go forth in the Spirit.   The Solemn Assembly is to renew our vows to God.  It is to bring these very specific things before Him, for His help and leading.  And it is to set before the people of God, the ways of God, the Word of God and the will of God to be done through us, by us and upon us.  All are to gather!  

Even though we have had great moments and testimonies of God's Presence over our 3 years of gathering and praying, we still have not prevailed to the desired end of revival.  A revival, that lands upon the church, no one left out, but all impacted.  And spills over into the 'possession' of Keyser and surrounding areas and counties.  We thank God for each act of mercy and blessings that we have enjoyed together.  But we know that we have not arrived yet, at that inner desire that God has birthed within us all - the fullness of Him.  So we set this day and time for a Solemn Assembly to come before Him humbly, and seek Him.  It is our privilege, responsibility and opportunity to once again come before Him together.  "For who knows if He will turn and repent and leave a blessing behind Him.'  

3 Rounds of Praying and instructing the congregation and churches:
1.  Worship - each of us that will be there will have 5 - 10 minutes to share and lead for worship.  Worship - the Names, attributes and works/deeds of God in Scripture.  Either share a devotion/meditation and then pray, as we normally do our Sunday evenings together.  Or present Scripture and have the people pray into it.  Limit 2 - 4 people, as we all will lead in this.

2.  Confession - over the years, i've always had to lead this.  I will have a power point to walk through for them to confess.  Sins of confession will be for our community - churches - families - personal sins.  If you want to join me with this, let me know.

3.  Petition/Supplication/Intercession - time for each of us to lead the people in the priorities the Spirit is leading us on.  Prayer priorities: 1. Revival - 2. lost souls, particularly family members & friends - 3. our community (our possession) - 4. His kingdom.  We can each get up and lead prayer times to pray into each of these 4 areas; or we can each take one of these areas and divide up among us that will be there.  Let me know what you think.

Fasting is still on Thursday's for the churches, revival, and our walk with Him.

100 Hours of Prayer - July 24 - 28; Starting at 8 AM, 7/24 and concludes at Noon, 7/28.  15 minute increments to be signed up for.  To fill this, it requires 400 people.  With our 5 churches and my 100 prayer email partners, I would like to see 200 sign up and that means we will have to double up on these times.  In other words, ask your people to take 2 - 15 minute increments.  Out of 100 hours,4 and 1/2 days, let them know they are asking to specifically praying for 30 minutes for the above mentioned priorities.  any questions, let me know.

100 HOURS OF PRAYER - DEC. 2023

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
