SBC 100 Hours of Prayer

 Greetings,

I need 15 minutes of your time.  One, 15 minute time slot to pray in agreement with 399 other SBC members.  Praying for 100 hours straight over the work of God and His kingdom, for and through SBC churches, ministries, leaders, members and entities.  Please join me in signing up for  a 15 minute time slot.  Below is the invite going out and the google sign up sheet.

"but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him."  Acts 12:5

Our group of prayer partners, for Broken Before the Throne prayer ministry and local churches in Keyser, WV,  have participated in 100 Hours of prayer, twice a year, for the last several years.  This has been a powerful time of unceasing prayer, and being much before Him.  We are setting up and extending an invitation to SBC pastors, leaders, and members as an opportunity to join us for "100 Hours of Prayer for SBC".  

When: August 7 - 11, 2023
Starting:  8/7, 8 AM (EST)
Finishing:  8/11, Noon (EST)
Time to pray:  15 minute time slots;

This will require at least 400 SBC members, to take one, 15 minute time slot, to be before the Lord in prayer.  For those that have prayer targets and burdens for SBC, it will be an added time to pray with others in this protracted prayer time.  But for those that may struggle, or do not know what to pray for during these 15 minutes, here is some helps that we might all be 'praying in agreement'.   It will be a focused 15 minutes on the following: 

5 minutes - Worship - praising, thanksgiving, adoration of Who God is and what God has done.  God's names, attributes and works and deeds, that He is worthy of all glory and honour from us, His church and people.

5 minutes - Confession - since this is prayer for SBC, let us focus on the sins of the church; sins of omission & commission; sins that Christ said to the 7 churches that He also says of us, "I have this against you"; the sins that have robbed us of His glory and 'given an occasion against His Name'.   This is a time of confession and repentance of very specific affronts to the Lord. Knowing that where much is given, much is required.  And we, as SBC, have been given much time, money, talents and opportunities, and still the work of the kingdom languishes world wide.  

5 minutes - Petition/Supplication/Intercession - our greatest need of the hour is real Revival, God's manifest Presence coming down upon SBC churches; prayers for the pastors and pulpits that they would have the unction from on high; pray for us to 'be holy, as I am holy"; pray for each seminary, each entity of the SBC; prayer over your state conventions, associations, and churches in SBC;  ask that God would make us houses of prayer and a people of prayer; pray for His kingdom, and that we might be used to be a part of His kingdom come and His will to be done;

These are simple helps to lead prayer through your 15 minutes.  Some of the logistical issues that we have faced and will face here is the different time zones.  This is why we try to adapt times to Easter Standard times for adjustment.   Accountability cannot be guaranteed, except that if you sign up that you will follow through with the time that you take.  And there is always the issuing of overlapping.  Many people pray around and take the same times, while other times are hard to fill them. We will do our best, and ask of you to take time slots that are not filled.  Be a part of this,prayer time, in an hour for our nation and the church,in which we desperately need God!

I will be glad to answer questions and help in any way I can.  Simply contact me at my email and I will try to help as quickly as I can.  We have an  sheet that we use for signing up.  Simply let me know which day, August 7 - 11 and what time you will take for 15 minutes and we will add your name.  And then let me know which time zone you are in and we will try to adapt them.  If you need more helps with Scripture or prayer targets to pray, we can provide that as well.  This is a much larger scale than our local 100 Hours of Prayer, so be a part of this time of needed 'continually, ceaseless' praying.

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
