100 HOURS OF PRAYER - DEC. 28 - JAN 1

 Greetings,

"And He said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing but by prayer and fasting."  Mark 9:29

What good does 100 hours of prayer do? Why should we join such a call to prayer? It is quite evident to the answer of that for these days. In our generation, upon our watch, and in our society, cities, streets and families, we have seen a rise of evil like never before. An evil that matches all the horrible verses in the Bible to what happens when God is absent and removed. And as much as we rejoiced over this last year for all the outpourings of God's Spirit starting with Asbury and continuing through most of this year, we still have the evidence of evil and hate on our streets, via the protests of anti-semitism. Tozer said, "revival changes the moral climate of a society."  With all these awakenings happening, do you see a moral change in our society?

I am much moved these days over the estate of the church and the pulpit. I am much moved over the prevailing lostness of our society and nations. There are 8 billion souls on the planet; and we still are struggling to reach the remaining people groups. Evangelism is one of the least things done by the church, as far as spiritual disciplines. And the only other thing that is not done much by the church is prayer and fasting. We have seen a rise in most recent years in the prayer movement. Rejoicing in those testimonies and those given to more prayer. No doubt the awakenings of this year are related to that prayer and fasting movement. But there are many pastors and churches, that still confess and testify, "I have no prayer life"; 'our church never has corporate prayer meeting." With an increase in evil, such things cannot be neglected.

"Evil has come in like a flood" (Isaiah 59:19) and therefore I write to you to join me in prevailing prayer. You are asked to take 15 minute time slots, or to take one time slot each day during December 28 - Jan. 1. Why? A Biblical answer, "if two of you agree as touching anything here on earth; it shall be done for you in heaven." Why 100 hours? "Continue in prayer"; "pray without ceasing". There is a great need for more protracted prayer times. We have called for our local churches and prayer partners to continue now fasting each Thursday for over 2 years. We desire to see the power of God work in only ways that can be described, 'Look, what the Lord has done.' Now there are many initiatives and calls to prayer, but this is a call that continues each year, each month, because we need God like never before. We need the pastors to set the example of prayer and fasting; we need the churches to call for prayer and fasting and we need to make our spiritual discipline to be faithful and steadfast to that which God has ordained for victory, overcoming and power.

We have two weeks before we begin with these (2) 100 Hours of Prayer.  We begin Dec. 28 at 8 AM (EST) and go straight through till Noon, Jan. 1.  Our 3 prayer targets are:
1. Revival to come to the church in North America and globally.
2.  Prayer for the Bride of Christ, the church to be holy, faithful and pleasing unto Him;
3.  A prayer of spiritual warfare to come against this evil of our day. To see that we are being given over to reprobate minds in our nation and are in desperate need of God.

We have sign up for our local churches and pastors and prayer partners with Broken Before the Throne:
