PRAYER EMAIL - 11/25

 Greetings,
"Strive to enter in at the strait gate for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in and shall not be able."  Luke 13:24
Strive - to go after; to pursue; to see the goal and seek to attain it; Bunyan writes in "Pilgrim's Progress" that Christian could see the Celestial City afar off. In his pursuit he went after that city to get there; to attain his eternal resting place in the Lord's city. Christ issues a directive here for all those that would get to heaven; to all those that would hear the words, 'well done'; to those that would enter in; that they must strive. That from the day of our salvation, it is a pursuit, a race to be won and a goal to achieve. This very life on earth, is  a preparation for our eternity. The redeemed and born again, to life everlasting with Christ. To the lost and wicked, damned forever more in hell.

All of life we are striving for something. We are directed in Scripture, 'to set our affections on things above, not on things of this earth.' Men strive for money, fame, worldly things; few strive for spiritual, heavenly, eternal things of God. And in our walk with God, as we draw near to close out this year, we must strive to finish well. Look at what you have done and accomplished in obedience to the leading of His Spirit thus far for this year. See those things pure, whole and faithful unto Him and His glory and honor. Confess and repent over those things lost and left undone. But with the holidays, much of our time and energy is put on earthly things. In this one thing, seek to strive to finish well, so that you may start the new year right.

How is your time with the Lord? how is your walk with Him and for Him? Have you grown in your faith? in holiness? Have you completed the things He has imparted you to do? Has your prayer life increased and deepened?

As we move forward, there is definitely much to get done, much that we responsible for and must take care of. But let us make sure we are striving about His kingdom and not our kingdom. Let us seek those things above, and not striving for the pride of life.

All that hell and the enemy will bring against us, will be to get us to quit striving. He is the master of distractions and disruptions that causes us to lose our priorities. Hell always advances when the church has quit striving. They know the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. They know of our being prone to lose heart and fall off from striving. These are the moments that the Spirit would remind us and exhort to pick up and begin striving again.

When you ask Christians about their spiritual walk, and talk to them of their spiritual disciplines, there is the consistency among far too many that they are hit and miss. They are up, then they are down. They are excited, and as quickly as the excitement comes on, the next moment, they are gone and have taken leave of their responsibility.  The passion to strive, is know doubt, a great gift and work of the Spirit. But to see so many in the churches, hit and miss, reveals something greatly wrong among us. During days of revival, there is no missed days of the spiritual disciplines. When there is the testimony of the majority that are struggling and have ceased in striving, there should be much alarm and praying about this sinful condition.

Let us resolve our own walk and life. And let us be much about the bride of Christ that she is striving and moving forward towards Christ-likeness. Pray one for another. See and understand the attacks of the devil against the bride. See the delusion among many of false doctrines, false religious hopes and disobedience to the Scriptures. There is a neglect of the Word, an absence to the prayer closet, always praying on the run, or on the go. Very unfaithful to church services. And there time is invested in their kingdom. Stand and strive against these practices, that are largely now acceptable among the church today. But it is not acceptable to the Lord. He cannot say, 'well done', to those that have not 'done well.' Strive to conclude this year well!
