PRAYER EMAIL - AUGUST 18

 Greetings,
"for, behold he prayeth."  Acts 9:11

Paul (Saul) has had an encounter with the Lord Jesus.  He has lost his eyesight.  He has been condemned by the Lord, being questioned, 'what do you think you are doing?'   And now, left to his own self, to process what has happened and what is going to happen, he is overwhelmed.  And then in the midst of these 3 days, the Lord sends him a vision, revealing Ananias will come in and restore his eyesight.  His anguish is over what he has been doing with his life against the Lord.  No doubt, in these 3 days of prayer and fasting, he has done the 'godly sorrow unto repentance'.  And God will meet him and send him forth for the rest of his days to serve the Lord for His kingdom.

Crisis, trials are meant to refine and purge us from self and the world.  In the moment, there is often a lack of knowledge of what is going on.  There are 3 types of people in crisis times. 1.  those that fall part and are overwhelmed, in the heat of the moment; 2.  those that are silent and methodical, trying to process what has happened and what is going on; 3.  then there are those in the faith, that casts their eyes unto the Lord; as Job, 'the Lord gives, the Lord takes away, blessed be the Name of the Lord.'   Few there are in the moments of difficulties, that remember to take their eyes off the circumstances and cast them upon the Lord.  That remember the directive, 'be still and know that I am the Lord.'

Our nation and the church have been in crisis for decades.  Where are the eyes and focus of our prayers at?  Many will pray for the symptoms, and never pray against the cause of it all.  We see with the eye, temporal, but cannot see beyond, in the spiritual.  We focus on the physical issues, rather than see the spiritual root cause.  "I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from which cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord."  Look, and be in the right places of such moments.

And what do we see from Paul in his crisis hour?  Behold, he prayeth.  Pray, he should; for he has lost his eyesight, his way of life has suddenly been turned upside down.  And he provoked the Lord God with his ways against His church.  But now, he is found praying.  Sitting before the Lord, waiting, watching and listening unto Him for mercy.  'in wrath remember mercy.'  And he finds the God of grace and mercy.  Go in and sit often before the Lord.  In Him will be found your solace and comfort.

Life is filled with waves of upd's and down's.  Tragedies come, crisis hours rise up, death & dying, sickness and issues are always to be found.  and in such times, may the witness of Paul be our's, 'behold, he/she prayeth.'
