PRAYER EMAIL - JUNE 30

 Greetings,
"Continue in prayer"  Colossians 4:2
"Pray without ceasing"  I Thessalonians 5
"but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him."  Acts 12:5

Announcements:
July 16 - Solemn Assembly - 6 PM, Keyser Emmanuel Church;
July 24 - 28 - 100 Hours of Prayer; 15 time slot increments I need you to sign up for;

August 7 - 11 - 100 Hours of Prayer by SBC;

We have had favourable seasons so far this year with God's manifest Presence and mercies.  However, church bodies, largely have been passed over in experiencing His Presence.  A more desperate, focused prayer for God to reveal Himself and pour Himself out should be our constant cry.  Revival - God's Divine Presence falling upon God's people is the only answer for this day.  All 3 of these happenings will be focused on that prayer.  I need you to help me complete these moments faithfully.  In order to fill 100 hours of 15 minute increments, you need 400 people.  Our small group on these prayer emails (100 people in the 2 groups) and our 5 local churches (around 350) usually have to double up on taking slots.  Please consider and respond to take your times slots.  Let me know which day(s) and which time slot(s) and if necessary your time zone.   I will be sending out the first of the week a more specific invitation.  Thank you!!

Meditation:  The New Testament gives us these multiple verses on a spirit of prayer that 'continues'.  There is no missed days; there is no missed moments; there are no prayerless Christians; there is no silent church.  Christ prayed, and the disciples asked Him, 'Lord, teach us to pray.'  And He did.  And found throughout the Scriptures is the clear teaching, example, witness and mandate - PRAY!  And throughout church history when evil has risen, and lostness is prevailing over the nations, people and cities and homes are in sin and broken, and the church has lost its steps with the Lord, they come to a realization really quick in their testimonies, 'we have ceased praying.'   And God stirs within them a priority and passion to return to 'continue in prayer'.  Over these last two decades this has been a constant confession by pastors, Christians and churches - 'we have no prayer life'.  And with seeing the conditions of our headlines, families and cities, will we not acknowledge the same sin is upon us, 'we ceased praying as we should.'

So as we reach the 1/2 mark for this year, July 1, and I ask of you to examine your prayer life.  Let us answer the question honestly about our personal secret closet praying as well as our corporate praying - Are we continuing in prayer?   To those that are being faithful and growing much in prayer, they are filled with joy and rejoicing.  Bless the Lord for such.  May we do all that we can to encourage, enrich and deepen that prayer life to continue.  But for those that have that constant struggling and confession, 'I know that I should, but I just find it so hard to stay at it.'  Let us help and lead such that they would be found faithful to pray without ceasing.   And if this be your testimony, hear me:  Do not stay in this place, rise up and enter in before the Lord and speak honestly with Him.

Hell loves when we cease to pray and stop the continuing in prayer.  Hell targets the Christian that prays and sets their fiery darts against the church that prays.  Hell and evil have made great strides in these last 50 years of the North American church, and it is largely due to the sin of prayerlessness.  Finding all night prayer meetings these days is one of the hardest things to find.  Finding a corporate prayer meeting weekly is as hard to find happening.  Most churches are not 'houses of prayer'.  And the plight of our present day is a direct reflection of the prayerlessness among us.  Seek for the sake of our future, for His Name sake, the advancement and finishing of His kingdom, to pray without ceasing.   And if for some reason you hit this 1/2 way mark and you examine and see that your prayer life is suffering, languishing then fly swiftly to Him, to restore your desire to pray and deepen in your intimacy with Him.

The standard action taken today by Christians and by the church is, 'let's go do this or that, and let's ask God to bless our ideas, labors and plans.'  We have it in reverse.  We are not to have a spirit of humanism, but of spiritualism in Him.  We are to wait upon Him, hear Him, be led of Him and then rise up and follow Him.  And all of this comes through praying without ceasing.  The greatest moments of the church from Pentecost to present day, has always come when someone gave themselves to continue in prayer.  'And God said, 'I looked for a man praying.  But I could not find one.'  How often in Scripture we read, 'and there was none that was praying, there was none that called upon Me'.  This has cost us much.  And we are to be much about prayer.  We are to be faithful in our prayer life.  Continue in prayer.
