PRAYER EMAIL - JUNE 3

 Greetings,
"Yea, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God."  Job 15:4

One of the supposed friends of Job, states and condemns him in this chapter.  'You have cast off the fear of God, and you have restrained your prayers before God.'  With friends like this, who needs enemies.  But it is the two directives stated that we should set before us today.  I am hearing more in the last weeks, pastors and spiritual leaders reference about the 'fear of the Lord'.  Long has the church in America, forgotten Who God is, and how fearful He is.  'It is a fearful thing to fall into the hand of the living God".  Many stopped teaching and preaching this truth, that was known by other time periods of the church.  They compromised it to suit flesh and carnal mindsets, rather than the intent of its reality.  But when we lose the fear of the Lord, prayer will be restrained before Him.

'Restraining prayer" - is this not one of those awful statements in the bible; and is it not more horrible for any Christian.  And in an hour, where we are to be seeking and longing for prevailing prayer; what we mostly see is restrained prayer.  "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me."  'Your sins and iniquities have separated between you and your God."  Restraining prayer happen and is due to sin in the saints, in the body of Christ.  Sins that need to be identified; specifically made known, of wherein is our high offense against the Lord God.  These things continue, and our prayers are restrained before Him.  He wants to respond, He wants to act, but our sins restrain Him.  Are we not then to spend crucial time in knowing the reality of our sins that cause our prayers to be restrained?  How much time does the church spend in knowing sin? How much time does a Christian do introspection of their life before God's holiness?  Does the phrases of Scriptures not teach us to identify these sin that are an affront and provocation to Him - 'take heed'; 'cause them to know'; & 'depart from evil'.

In an hour of great need for our nation, families and the state of the church, we cannot afford restrained prayer.  The sin of prayerlessness has been named among us for far too long.  We are not houses of prayer and too many of God's children are not men and women of prayer.  This is restrained prayer by active choice of God's people not to seek Him or call upon Him.  Yet, calamity and crisis that He will allow or send and sometimes it causes us to seek Him.  Yet, it does not lasts, and we are back to lethargy or apathy and prayer is once again restrained.  Most churches and Christians go far too long without answered prayers.  It is a great testimony of God's people to declare, 'look what the Lord has done.'   Yet, listen and watch to see if this is declared or not.  Unanswered prayers for long duration should make us very aware that our prayers are restrained.

Evil is surging, rising and multiplying in our nation; and Romans 1 is our pattern right now.  We cannot afford restraining prayer.  The winds of the Spirit recently blew through college campuses and many rejoiced, but largely the local churches were not impacted.  Should there not be a cry for prayers to be unrestrained before Him and pleadings for His mercy?  And when desperate times come, is the church not to respond with desperate prayers?  Lord, teach us to pray!  A desire among the body of Christ to once again seize prevailing prayers and cast off restrained prayers before our God.  He is able, but are we willing.  Ravenhill stated, 'we don't have revival, because we simply dont want it.  Who is willing to pray the price for it?'

Examine the prayer life of your own individual life; examine the prayer life of the church.  What do you see and what do you testify to, restrained or prevailing?  How long are you content to go along with restrained prayer.  One of the great directives is Jeremiah 33:3, 'I called, and God answered'; may this be true of each of us and our churches prayer life for such an hour as this.  Too much of eternity and His kingdom is at stake.

"the hour is late; the need is great; pray so as to prevail."

SOLEMN ASSEMBLY - we are considering hosting this in Keyser on July 16.  At this time, it is only tentative.  We will update when we confirm everything.  Continue to pray for this.
