PRAYER EMAIL - FEBRUARY 25

 Greetings,

"But Thomas , one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came."  John 20:24

The last weeks, since Asbury, I have been sharing not only my videos, experiences and comments on Asbury; but also giving revival history to my viewers and churches.  I have gleaned much from Leonard Ravenhill, J. Edwin Orr and all the books covering revivals and those that went through revivals.  It has been a joy to share with them of all the saints that I have remembered their testimony of what God did and how He did it.  Duncan Campbell, John Wesley, Dr. Culpepper, Marie Monsen, and Jonathan Goforth to name a few.  But the one that I held to the end was the Welsh Revival of 1904.  And that man that God used mightily, Evan Roberts, to lead this particular revival in great fashion.  

It is said and written, that this verse of John 20:24 about Thomas, touched Evan Roberts and lasted with him all his life.  Hearing a sermon on this text and by the power of the Holy Ghost was etched into his make-up all his life.  And it has always left a thought to me, what was it of this phrase that stamped on him, that passion from these few words?  Isn't it amazing how God's Spirit can take a word, a phrase and speak volumes to us in our walk and service to Him.  

There are the multiple ways to consider how God comes.  He came to save us from our sin.  He came to draw us and invite us that day of our salvation.  He came in power upon His church on the day of Pentecost.  And each revival reminds us once again, that He is able to come.  And yet, this particular time in which Jesus came to His disciples after His resurrection, Thomas was not there.  There is no reason given or put forth to tell us why he was not there.  But he missed Christ visitation.  Such moments cannot be missed, but be ever expecting of Him to come.  How many times we missed His Divine visitation will be revealed to us in eternity.

God unleashed upon Evan Roberts and Wales, almost at the same time that He was Divinely visiting Korea.  These moves of God are of God's Sovereign will.        But how many Thomas' will there be?  How many to miss HIs Divine visitation? His calling? His favor?  Only to hear the same cry as that which Christ offered in Luke 19, 'how often I would have drawn you, but you would not.'  They missed their Divine visitation.  Those that were invited have missed it, go into the highways and streets and compel them to come in for the supper.  All of these are being directed by the One Who knows all events of time, history and the things of His creation.  O God, don't let me be a Thomas!

PRAYER TARGETS

EPIDEMICS:
1.  Drugs & Alcohol - estimates should be coming of where we fall after 2021 at 105,000 drug deaths; estimates projecting that we should exceed that; a decade long climb of continued historic death rate;
2.  children - 
3.  Natural Disaster - 1/2 of US in drought, but much lessened with west coast storms; Turkey has seen 50,000 deaths and reports estimate it could go as high as 100,000; aftershocks continue; 
4.  Plagues - disaster due to train derailment for water and air quality; covid continues; continued heart and young deaths unexplained;
5.  LGBT - continued assault and advancement;
6.  Great Evil - police officers shot and killed at 9 - that is 1 per week;  mass murders/murder-suicides had 8 in January; and 5 so far in February; murder-suicides average of 2 per day;
7.  Economy -  gold being bought up and hoarded; dollar collapse being warned of; 

UPDATE:
--bible readings, up through end of Matthew; under 30 days to finish;  all but done marking 'wait' and 'watch' word phrases;
--A Word blog - Jeremiah 28; first 10 verses of this chapter, I have been able to play a little catch up and finish all these; need to go back into chapter 26 & chapter 27 to finish those that remain;
--Thursday Hour of Prayer - live stream at 7 PM; last 3 weeks have been dealing with 'Revival" alone;  
--Monday bible study - up through Deuteronomy 7 & 8;  last week shared Asbury videos; and alot of Q & A;
--Sunday services at Keyser church at 10 AM; and Fox's Hollow - SS at 2 PM and worship at 3 PM;
--March 11 - nation wide broadcast on line for that day;
--1st & 3rd Sunday evening of each month Community Prayer with local pastors; Emmanuel church at 6 PM;
--March 19 - local churches coming together for baptism service & prayer;

100 HOURS OF PRAYER - DEC. 2023

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
