ASBURY REVIVAL - WHAT'S NEXT

 Greetings,

"Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near."  Isaiah 55:6

A sequence of events:  the remnant of the Lord was birthed with a hot pursuit for His glory and to experience revival.  Revival is God showing up in greater fullness and Presence.  Spiritual Awakening is great conviction and conversion of lost souls, in and out of the church.    From this pursuit of revival, came the understanding from historic and biblical revivals of what God can do when He comes in power and Presence.  The remnant continued a spirit of tilling up the ground in fasts, tears, prayers, corporately and secret closet praying.  A generation has elapsed since the nation and the church has experienced or seen a move of God.  The 1970's saw and experienced the Canadian Revival, the Asbury Revival, and the Jesus Movement.  But since then, it has been dry and very sporadic and contained of God's Presence coming down in like fashion upon His church.  "Mercy drops have fallen, but the showers of blessings' was what the remnant were and are pleading for.

With wickedness and evil surging in our society there came a greater desperation and pursuit of God.  Call's to prayer, fasts, corporate prayer meetings and individuals seeking the Lord was heard of by the remnant.  The vast majority of the church rejected these actions and choices, as unneedful and upsetting the balance of their programs and plans.   There was a great struggle as government continued to go further and further away from God's Word and ways.  And society was pulled away into this great abomination against the Lord.  The response of that evil was greater and greater judgements upon our land.  Yet, the remnant continued through all this to find Him, and be found of Him.

For my personal journey, we closed out the year with our 100 Hours of prayer.  A continual cry to God specifically for revival and spiritual awakening.  There was set last year, to fast every Thursday.  Local pastors have been gathering on every 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month to pray and seek for revival for the churches here and awakening upon our communities.  On Jan. 28, I held a live stream broadcast with this same cry and call, mainly to SBC, 'A call to pray --- prevail in prayer'.  On Feb. 1, Jim Garlow and Tony Perkins hosted a "National Day of Prayer and Repentance" for our nation.  Many of national spiritual leaders were there, and the remnant rejoicing in this, as it was so needed.  Note, that this prayer and repentance was 1 week before God came down upon Asbury.  I do not believe that was any accident.  On February 5, the Lord greatly impacted me to preach on Acts 4, 'The Place was Shaken'.  Almost with an assurance was on me, that this was close.

This last paragraph, was my personal journey.  All the remnant can say the same thing, they were constantly pursuing God's Manifest Presence to come.  They knew that there was no other help but God.  Many of the remnant were fasting, praying, crying out to the church to respond.  Desperate, hungry, urgent and fervent in their pursuit of God coming.  Knowing that if He did not come, then our end was near.

Then on Feb. 8, as chapel service at Asbury was concluding, it continued by the students.  And then more and more began to gather back into the chapel and it took off, and has not ceased for over a week.  Many near and far, have gone and joined in on this Divine moment in our history.  Multi generational, whole families, individuals, it has touched much of the body of Christ.  Even now, being news worthy to reach the national news channels for interviews and declaring what's going on.  International feeds have picked up on this to cause the hunger by the church to rise, as it hasn't for many decades.  A desperation for God to come and do His best work for the nations, His kingdom and His glory.

What's Next?

The Manifest Presence of God is there upon that place.  It was clearly evident in that chapel.  And it is clearly evident by the duration of this revival.  Men and hell often seek to replicate God's moves and Presence by false fire and false emotions.  But even this, cannot be contrived by men for such a duration.  If it was of men or hell, it would have faded by now.  This testimony bears record of God's graciousness to His people and to reach the lost of His creation.  Remember this is what this is all about, God's kingdom, God's plan, God's work, God's glory.  His church has lost His glory and plans and will, and such a moment of revival, restores the fire and passion for God's heart.  And there will come false fire as some seek to emulate Asbury.  It will fade.  but true mark of God, will endure and bear the testimony of time.

The verse in opening, is our mandate right now.  God has not pronounced 'Ichabod', the glory of the Lord has departed, upon our nation, or the church.  Many of us feared this was upon us, that God was done and ready to remove us.  But for this moment, God has denied Ichabod, and given us His Manifest Presence.  The Presence of the Lord there, I describe this way, 'hovering', 'captivating of minds and hearts' and drawing of His people unto Himself.  A needed breath of fire from the Lord.  What will the church do with this?  simply go and experience and say, 'well, wasn't that nice and wonderful'?  No, it is to seize why the Lord came and has done this.  It is to get His church back on track and useful for His service and kingdom.

The Lord has drawn nigh to us once again.  And almost all that have been there have come away with that renewed passion to seek Him and know Him and be used of Him.  While He is near, seek Him.  The church should not simply gaze and behold from afar.  But draw nigh, while He is near.  Every possible means of fasting, prayer, corporate and secret closet, should be set forth by the church to respond to this Divine invitation of God.  Many will miss this moment due to skepticism and hard hardness.      Let us lay hold on this Divine moment to remember what this is all about in relationship to Him and His purposes.

Suggestions of what to do:
1.  Study, read and hear true accounts of revival.  I have started posting great sermons and books that give our history of such real revivals.  God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.  And these things are consistent with what and how God has moved.

2.  A call from every spiritual leaders is needed, that at this hour, the church respond appropriately.  Many will do nothing, they will miss this.  But those that understand this moment, will seek the Lord while He is near.

3.  The realization, that God comes, and then God departs.  And this moment will not last forever.  But when He comes, He changes everything after that.  There is an urgency of time here that should be noted and made aware of.

4.  Do everything in your own personal walk to be much with Him and for Him.  Yielded and surrendered vessels out of this moment will impact the world and His kingdom for years to come.  Its all about Him! and His glory!

Note:
We were and are in great judgements of God against our nation, churches, families and individuals.  This Divine moment is a reprieve from the Lord in His graciousness and mercy.  Failure by the church to recognize this will quench His Spirit and return us to greater folly.  God will judge America eventually, as He has all other nations, kingdoms and empires that allowed, practiced and did great evil and abominations.  But until that time comes, we must seek the Lord while He may be found.   During such moments of 'a little  reviving', we must seek Him for Him to repent of the evil that He has determined against us.  Soon, after this revival is over, the Lord, the Judge of all the earth will come, and will annihilate us.  The blood of 70 million babies, the abominations, the perversions, the wickedness will come up before Him and He will respond.  Final judgement will come soon.  This moment is a reprieve.  'For who knows if He will turn and repent and leave a blessing behind Him.'  And He has!  Praise His Name!

Until,
Dan Biser
