PRAYER EMAIL - JANUARY 21

 Greetings,
"For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape."  I Thessalonians 5:3

A day is coming, a moment; and that moment is suddenly coming upon us.  Although the context of this passage is of course, the second coming of Christ. And we are rapidly approaching that time.  It is quite exciting, and exhilarating, that quite possibly in our life time of the next decades, our Lord's return is upon us.  Yet, there must be this time of travailing and great tribulation upon us first.  A few weeks ago, I gave you that devotional theme 'but what? even now.'  That same Scripture with this emphasis is more and more evident of where we are as a nation.  Where is that?  Final judgement.

The increase over the last 60 years of our remedial judgements is simply historical facts.  And yet, it has never ceased in increasing.  How did we reach the epidemic status on the judgments?  Starting at one instance, at once occurrence, at one moment; and then another and then another.  Going from once a year; to once a month; to once a week, to now daily happenings.  All these epidemics are now daily occurrences.  And we are now so used to it that we have become 'shell shocked' to the headlines and happenings.  Until, it hits our family, our home; then we are stirred.  But you see, its too late then.  And what we should be asking is, is it too late now?   It is the great hope in God's mercy for revival and awakening.  And those hoping for it, may have never considered that revival or spiritual awakening may only occur after final judgement; or in the midst of it.

God is Sovereign and will do as He so wills and has determined it.  Yet, in the massive increase of what we have seen, we are dangerously close to, if not exceeding, the end of remedial judgements.  Remedial judgements are sent to cause us to understand and see our ways have brought forth God's wrath for our correction.  Final judgement all but erases hope for correction.  Its too late.  And while these decades of remedial judgements have been coming upon us, very little repentance or change has occurred among our nation or the church.  The very purpose of sending or allowing the remedial judgements has not produced the right response from us.  Thus the escalation of severity and increase in happenings.  That now, suddenly upon us is things occurring that we have never dreamed of, nor considered.  and yet, is the church looking unto the Lord.

It is, whatever little time remains for us, that we will be engaged more.  A more complete understanding of what is happening and why.  A more urgent and fervent spirit of prayer within us and around us.  And seeking to make the church aware of all this, for it is 'even now' upon us.  We cannot wait, nor put it off, time is an issue.  And waiting will procur greater wrath and more regret after the fact.  Respond now, while there is time.  'For who knows if He will turn and repent and leave a blessing behind Him."
