A CALL TO PRAYER - JANUARY, 2023

 Greetings,
"But I give myself unto prayer" - Psalm 109:4
Blessed New Year to you!  I pray that you are ready to face the year, and see the church ready to grow in 'grace and knowledge of our Lord.'    We know that the faithfulness and strength of the church is found in its spiritual disciplines.  Bible, prayer, church and evangelism to be key foundations in our intimacy with the Lord.  We have faced an uphill battle on seeing the church maintain these spiritual disciplines over the last decades.  Especially, in the venue of prayer, of which the Lord has given you and I an ardent desire to prevail in.

Most  of our churches and individual Christians struggle in the passion of prayer.  Corporate prayer and secret closet prayer are hard things to find among us today.  Bless those that are doing it and thriving in it.  but overall, the majority neglect and wrestle to maintain prayers.  The sin of prayerlessness has costs us much.  And your desire, as mine, is to see that change.  For no revival or spiritual awakening ever took place, without someone prevailing in prayer for the Lord's kingdom to come and His will to be done.  We have been given, such a time as this, to call for a challenge, an invitation, for the churches to return to being 'houses of prayer'; and for Christians to being men and women of prayer.  To see this happen, we must be intentional at calling them to pray.

I'm asking of you to join others in issuing this call for prayer to our beloved churches, pastors, SBC leaders and individual brothers and sisters in Christ.  We would like to set a day, January 21, to call for prayer, and have many of you share a word from the Lord in challenging them to be a people of prayer.  We will run a live stream or video feed for the duration of the day to give each of you that opportunity to invite, challenge, encourage and confess for the importance of prayer for each day and this year.

You are being asked to pre-tape a video and send to me, in which I will add you to our lineup for Saturday, the 21st.  We will run 3 sessions for this day:
Morning Session -  9 AM - Noon (EST);
Afternoon Session - 1 PM - 4 PM (EST);
Evening Session - 6 - 9 PM (EST);

We will broadcast from a website and across social media platform for the convenience of many to be challenged and spoken to about their prayer life.  Once the line up is confirmed, we will post and send out info on speakers and information to view and follow along with.

Duration of your time to preach or teach on prayer will be 45 minutes to 60 minutes.  And you are asked to bring whatever word from the Lord on prayer to His people and churches.

Let me know if you are interested in joining this 'call to prayer'.  I will be glad to talk with you by phone and answer any questions you may have.

Until,
