PRAYER EMAIL - DECEMBER 2

 Greetings,

"Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it, except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain."   Psalm 127:1

The first phrase of this verse is very familiar 'except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain'.  Quoted it many times in messages and prayers.  But it is the last phrase that the Lord fixed for a focus over a recent, protracted time of fasting this past week.  Much focus on the city and the watch and watchman.  "Watchman what of the night? watchman what of the night?"  And now it is 'watchman what of the city, of the nation, of the church?'  During this past year, one of the studies that was shared, was the 7 targets on keeping the watch.  And we have this certainty, if God doesn't do it, it really doesn't matter what we as watchmen do.   Therefore it is absolutely necessary for God to do what only God can do.

As we approach the end of this year, we must ask this question about our nation, about the state of the church, of the cities. The question, 'Are we better off at the end than the beginning?'   We see we are not better off.  We see that evil has spread, and greater damage has been done to the home, church, and nation.  Greater perversions, greater evil, has been the course of this year.   And the church is responsible, that when 'evil comes in like a flood, to raise up against it.'  But without the church realizing the significance of receiving God's Spirit, God's fullness, God's help, what good would any of our endeavors do.   "if God does not keep the city, the watchman rises in vain.'  Did God keep Sodom? Did God keep the world during Noah's day?  Did God keep Jerusalem when they rejected Him and chose idolatry?  Never will God keep our cities, our churches, our nation, our future, unless there is an appropriate response from the church.

All our humanism has availed nothing. More programs; more venues; more ideas and the church just keeps coming up with new and innovated ways, which accomplish nothing, because God is absent from them.  What's wrong with the 'old paths'?  We come to a time, when our desperation and fervency should match the hour of our need.  A desperate spirit and urgency should be upon us for what is getting ready to happen.   A call for fasting, for prayer, for humiliation before the Lord.  We have provoked Him to greater anger, and are ready to reap what we have sown in these great offenses of evil.

What the Senate did this past Tuesday night, is considered a spiritual marker against us as a nation and the church.  The nation legalized the abomination of same sex marriage, by eradicating the biblical definition of marriage, as between one man and one woman.  This law's passage is another step by our nation to invite God's further wrath upon us.  Haven't we had and seen enough judgements?  Why would we provoke the Lord to greater wrath and anger?  And what did the church do when this evil was getting ready to be voted on?  Did our leaders call for prayer and fasting? Most of the church did not, nor does know what happened.  Most pulpits did not and will not mention it.

The church is greatly distracted today by self and the happenings of this world.  Our eyes are not on the priority of God's kingdom, will and ways.  And we make no effort to ask of God to help us keep the city, nation and state of the church.  More interested in being happy, rather than holy.  And approaching to the place of our own demise, because God called us to keep the watch of the city, of the nation of the church, and we was found fast asleep.  and now we need God, and we call to Him.  But He answers, "I called and you would not answer; now you call and I will not answer.'  How can we keep the cities if God will not help us?

It would do well for us to forget our agendas and worldly seeking's and focus on where we are.  Things are getting ready to change, and not for the better.  And the church isn't ready.  Our cities aren't ready and our families are in trouble.  Should there not be a cry from God's people to keep the city, nation and church?  Should there not be a pleading for His Presence and help?  May your priority and focus be about being before the Lord to hear and know what the Spirit is saying for this hour.  The end of the year is coming; and the end of our age is coming.
