100 HOURS OF PRAYER - 2022

 Greetings,
"And when he came, lo, Eli sat upon a seat by the wayside watching:  for his heart trembled for the ark of God.  And when the man came into the city, and told it, all the city cried out."  I Samuel 4:13

100 Hours of Prayer
God had already spoken and warned Eli of his sins and the sins of his sons.  The ark of God had been removed from his presence and taken to the war front with the Philistines.  And he was left to do nothing but sit, and wait, and watch.  His heart trembled for the ark of God.  Not for his sons did he tremble, although I am sure a father yearned for his sons to receive mercy rather than wrath, but Eli trembled for the holy ark of God.  And then the news came that the ark of God had been taken by the uncircumcised Philistines.  Something that had never happened before.  News that his two sons were dead also came; sorrow upon sorrow.  He did well that his heart trembled, but it was an action too late.  His heart should have trembled earlier, when there was still time and opportunity to respond rightly to the Lord.  The city mourned and cried out, but again it was 'after the fact'.

As we close this year out, we will be sitting in our prayer chambers watching and waiting.  Will we cry out as the city for the news which we have heard and seen over these past months and weeks?  How often over this last year, that verse has come to me, the Lord asking, 'Watchman, what of the night?'  And I reply, 'Lord, it is not good.'  My heart trembles for what we are hearing and seeing.  For many of you, I am certain in your secret closets you are faithful to weep and mourn over the affairs of this nation and your cities and the state of the church.  As Jesus approached Jerusalem, 'He beheld the city and wept over it.'  And He cried out for it, 'O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, how often I would have gathered you, but you would not.'  His heart trembled for what was to come upon them.  Are we any different?  Does your heart tremble for the things of God?  Does your heart tremble for the nation? your city? your family?

It is not trembling and fearful that God is not God.  Yea, He is still the Lord God. And all things are possible with Him and through Him.  It is not trembling that these things have crept up on Him; for He is Omniscient and Omnipresent.  God is God.  And all things are possible with God.  God is just; 'shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?'  Yes He does and shall do right.  God is able, in His Sovereignty to usher forth His glory and bring a sweeping revival upon His church and a great awakening upon the lost souls of the nations.  Nothing is too hard for God.  God's word is eternal. God's power is unlimited.  The gates of hell shall not prevail against His church.  In all things of God is yea and amen!  These are not the things of the Lord that makes us tremble.

Then what does the heart tremble at?  Did Eli's heart tremble for the ark of God, because he knew that Israel could not stand before their enemies?  Tremble, for the Lord is not for you, but against you.  what power is demonstrated by the church today?  where is the victories, where is the miracles, where is the salvations of great redemption; where is the deliverances from addictions?  Are you satisfied with the 1's and 2's, when the power of God should be exemplifying these things by the 100's and 1000's?  Tremble for the power and the Presence of God is greatly limited, restrained and quenched and His Holy Spirit is greatly grieved.   Tremble because Ichabod has come upon the nation, upon the church, upon the homes, and upon the minds and hearts of men.  'The glory of God has departed' from our present circumstances.  What are we to do?  "I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help; my help, cometh from the Lord."  "I will lift my voice unto Him, Who sits on the rim of the earth and declare His glory to be shown to the nations.'  We will seek Him, for He promised, 'if you seek Me, you shall find me, when you search for Me with all your heart.'

These 100 hours of prayer, may cause us not to simply sit and mouth words and phrases that we always pray.  Vain repetition does not honor nor glorify the Lord.  And such prayers of saying the same thing over and over, in the same way, will not be heard nor answered.  It may be that we sit before Him and tremble for what is coming next.  That we remember what He has imparted to us as a nation and what we have done with it.  That we spend these hours in prayer to prevail for His kingdom come and His will to be done.  'Glorify Thy name in all the earth, Lord.'  'And make request that God would 'show me Your glory.'  Sit in silent, holy adoration of Him and the Trinity and the throne room.  Sit before Him and weep for the reality of this day, yesterday and tomorrow and every day that over 150,000 people die and go to hell for all eternity, because the church languishes to fulfill His desired end.  Look upon the judgements of this nation, or the church, of our homes and weep and tremble for what comes next upon us.  'For who knows if He will turn and repent and leave a blessing behind Him.'  May we in wrath, find mercy.
