INCREASE IN MASS MURDERS - SHORT VERSION

 Greetings,

"So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand."  Luke 21:31

An escalation of death and dying is happening continuously across our nation.  An accelerated amount of suicides, homicides, mass shooting, murder-suicides and mass murders.  The like of which we have never seen nor experienced before.  There are numerous other increasing epidemics upon our nation as God's judgement is happening.  This judgement is for our wickedness and evil against Him.  And we are left to ask some hard question and discern the answers the Lord gives us.  For such a times as this, we are given this moment to be our Lord's laborers for His glory, honor and kingdom.

So how do we approach this epidemic of death and dying which is happening in our nation?  Especially focused on the huge increase in stats of mass shootings, mass murders and murder-suicides.  Let us propose the following:

I.  Identify the issue at hand.  Answer the question - What is going on?

We are under severe judgement of God.  Remedial judgements have been sent for decades, warning us that we are not right in the sight of God as a nation, communities, laws, churches, or families.  And these remedial judgements have been explained away, dismissed and not given heed to.  And every time we missed our moment to return to Him, humble ourselves before Him, and cease from doing evil, and learn to do good; we missed our Divine invitation.  As these invitations are missed or ignored, they increase the evil and provoke God to more wrath.  No correction of evil in our land, accelerates it against Him.  And one generation swallows the next in more evil.  Thus the judgements increase, become more severe, to reach what we are experiencing today, as EPIDMEICS.  We have increased over these decades from numerics of 1's and 10's; to 100's and 1000's.  We have increased in depth and location, as no longer remote, or rare; but now are everywhere and impacting everyone.  And all of this evil, in these mass murders, and death and dying, that is plaguing our nation, is found in the minds and hearts of men.  God is giving us over to reprobate minds; increased minds which are alienated from Him; and very susceptible to Satan's lies and voice.  The heart is desperately wicked and this is why they are doing such wicked, evil abominations.  

II.  Why is this happening?

There are 2 reason.  First, as just mentioned in the previous point, the increase of evil men being susceptible to hell's agenda.  Giving themselves over to such wickedness, there is no restraint.  As in Genesis 6, we are approaching this same description, 'and the thoughts of their hearts were only evil continually.'  Secondly, as this evil increased, where was the church to undo and stop it?  Does the Name of Christ not have power and authority in it?  Does the Scripture not say, 'greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world.'  Yet, there is little evidence of such power in Christ and the Trinity practiced and demonstrated by the church. It is not God, it is the church that languishes in the power of the Spirit.   With no restraints, with no power to limit, undo, heal, rebuke, convert, deliver, be victorious; then hell advances, and its wickedness floods the land.  'When you see this evil come in like a flood God raises up a standard against it.'   The church is the standard against the evils of this day.  And yet, it did not prevail.  As the church goes, so goes the nation.  This is happening because the church has committed the 5 sins that we were warned never to do against the Holy Ghost: 1. Quench not; 2.  Grieve not; 3.  Limit not; 4.  Deny not; 5.  Resist not.  But show me a Spirit filled church and those right in the sight of the Lord and pleasing unto Him, and I will show you victory over the evil one.  But this is rare to find among churches today; there is very little spiritual warfare practiced or known.  Both are at fault to why this evil is rising and increasing:  hell is advancing and swallowing us; and the church is not what Christ told us to be.  

III.  What are we to do?

Cause the people to know what is going on; why it is going on; and God's clear direction on how to address it.  Set before them, the Word of God, that has warned what happens to the nation, the church, the family that sins against the Lord.  Declare the Scripture of Who God is in grace, mercy, and forgiveness. Declare the Scripture of Who God is in wrath, anger and fury.   'For who knows if He will turn and repent, and leave a blessing behind Him."  Call for the Solemn Assembly, that accomplishes this.  Plan for a perpetual cry private prayer, corporate prayer and fasting, and seeking of the Lord, so that we might find His favor, rather than His wrath.   

Instruction is given to call for the priests and ministers; 'let the priests, the ministers of the Lord weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare Thy people, O Lord. . . "  It begins with leadership in the church.  A failure of leaders to lead, advances hell.  Therefore, leaders and petitioners must all be united in this call for a solemn assembly a response before the Lord for His mercy.  
Prayer Points:  
--deliverance from the enemies plans and hands;
--men's minds and hearts to be delivered from demonic influence;
--much needed time spent in recognizing our sins before Him specifically;
--praying victory over these weapons turned against us;
--we wrestle not against flesh & blood; but against evil power and principalities;
--great need of God to not withdraw His Holy Ghost from our midst (Ichabod) but receive a Pentecost, an outpouring;
--Spirit filled churches and Christians are victorious over hell;
--when the church gets right, the nation gets right, homes get right;

These are a few considerations of prevailing in prayer over this judgement of death, dying and destruction on our society, cities, homes and minds and hearts of men.  More drafted plans and implementations are needed to bring the church to the altar.  "that we may come boldly before the throne of God, to obtain mercy and find grace in this time of need.'  And it is a very needful time for God's help.

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
