PRAYER EMAIL - OCTOBER 8

 Greetings,
"Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you:  they make you vain::  they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord."  Jeremiah 23:16
"Vanity of vanity, all is vanity" - Ecclesiastes
"IF thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes."  Luke 19:42

There is a sorrow coming for many of us.  As we enter into eternity, the joys and rejoicing of arriving and finally home through Christ's love and atonement will overflow.  But it will be revealed to us how much we could have done had we only had our eyes open.  'If you had know. . . the things which belong to our peace'.  Any Christian and every Christian and church should examine and answer, 'Am I well pleasing unto You, my Lord?"  How much we could have done! How much we should be doing!  What is the restriction and delay for this?  WE have a vision problem; we have eyes but cannot see.  And we have given ear to hear the voice of the world and it is has made us vain.

Vanity - that which is empty; with no purpose or meaning; void.  How much of our life is filled with vanity? Do you ever contemplate the use of your time on this old world?  How often I have been engaged in work, play or time and stopped and asked, 'is this not vanity'.  Only two things in this life is eternal, with purpose: 1. the eternal soul; 2.  the Word of God.  And both of these two things should occupy our time, energy and life.  The balance of the church and our own/Christian lives between vanity and eternity.is not pleasing to Him.  There is an unjust balance that tips the scales more toward vanity than eternity.  And I fear, too many in the church will hear, 'thou art found weighed in the balances and found wanting'.

I have been very much under conviction with the words of Ravenhill, 'we have no revival, because no one will pay the price.'  And the Spirit speaks clearly, 'pay the price.'  Forsake vanity and focus on eternity!  God will not punish the church or soul that gives more time to Him and the things of His kingdom.  The things of His kingdom are time given to prayer, fasting, Word, service, evangelism and holiness.  But He will rebuke and chasten those giving time, energy, talents/abilities, and money to vanity.    This is not 'warring a good warfare', when we are giving more to the things of this world, than the things of His kingdom.   We cannot say, nor mean the words, 'Thy kingdom come and Thy will be done', when we are given to our kingdom and this world.

And as we see the evil so offensive and so evident across our nation, where is the power of prevailing prayer that pushes back and undoes it?  where is the spiritual warfare in prayer time?  One cannot read the Gospels or the book of Acts and see that the same Christianity is not evident among many of the churches in the US.  We are in desperate, earnest need of the power and Presence of the Spirit.  A full encounter with Him and filling by Him, to engage in this warfare for our future is upon us.  But if our vast amount of time is given to vanity, we are guilty of this verse by Christ, as He beheld the city and wept over it.  'Had you know the power of prayer, and given yourself to it, you would see the works of the church fathers."  Had we prevailed, had we been holy, had we been more before Him, pleading with His favor and mercy for this day.

Time before Him, and with Him, in meditation, Word and prayer is very much needed.  For as the evil increases, we must be more before Him and with Him.  Vanity of ball games, movies and self will not compete with this.  "More about Jesus would I know; more of His face to behold'.  'More love to Thee, O Christ; more love to Thee" - do you know these old hymns that reflect this meditation?  But as we are before Him and with Him, and abiding with Him, He will impart to us His power, Presence and prevailing.  We shall see and know the secret of it all, eternity must triumph over vanity in all aspects of the church, and the individual.  Strive to be much about Him and with Him.  Eternity hangs in the balances for 8 billion souls and His kingdom business is based upon what HE sees and hears from us.

PRAYER TARGETS:
EPIDEMICS

Only a few notes on these continued prayer targets:
1.  FBI came out with stats on murders; a continued increase in shooting and deaths; as well as drug overdoses continuing to go higher.  A clear judgement on our nation of death and dying and destruction.  A vigorous prayer before Him by the church is needed to turn this back and deal with our current plight.  This will impact our future in grave results.
2.  Economic collapse is more and more evident of reports of our condition.  I fear to many of church and Christians are not ready for what's coming.
3.  Great Evil epidemic has drastically slowed down.  Even though I would love to say, 'answered prayer'; I fear that it is the end of this plague and getting ready for another one.  Another one more severe than as damaging as this has been.  Mass shootings, police officers shot and killed and murder-suicides are all down to lowest numbers that i can remember.  IT is the end of one judgement to bring forth the next.
