PRAYER EMAIL - OCTOBER 22

 Greetings,
"I marvel that ye are so soon removed form Him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:  Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ."   Galatians 1:6 - 7

The Apostle Paul addresses 2 things to this church in Galatia.  And is very much still an issue today.  1.) They are removed to another gospel; 2.) The gospel of Christ is perverted by some.  A couple days ago, in the midst of a zoom prayer meeting with Thomas Bush, we centered in on praying spiritual warfare.  Remember when we pray, we are either praying for something, or against something.  Here we was praying against the works of the devil, and against evil itself.  Is this not what Paul is addressing?  There is an evil in our midst today that has twisted, defamed, perverted and presented a false gospel of Christ.  It cannot be known what is false, unless you know what is true.

The true gospel is always brilliant and wonderful when someone presents it in a message, or teaching, or in a testimony witness of salvation.  The true gospel is,  according to Christ, according to His word, and in line with the Holy Word of God.   But when the false gospel is presented, there is a wrongness to it, and when you hear it, it is obvious.  Perhaps they have departed from Holy Script to give more humanistic traits; or perhaps, they put more emphasis on men or works of religion, than they do Christ and His atonement and work of grace, love and redemption.  But when you hear it, you know it; this is not the true Gospel.  Something is amiss and man has 'touched the ark' of God's glory.  

When men pervert the gospel of Christ, the church should recognize it immediately and respond to admonish, correct, restore and return to the true Gospel of Christ.  But it seem much worse, for those that remove themselves from the gospel of Christ to another.  Herein is our greater battle.  We will always fight against hell in twisting the Scripture and the gospel.  They are and will continue to be the main Anti-God, Anti-Christ.  Hell works ferociously against the Gospel anywhere it is truly read, obeyed and preached.  It has been that way since Christ established it.  But it is the means of men that make them remove themselves from this glorious gospel of Christ.  We see self, sin and Satan cause those that were once enlightened, once on fire, once faithful to remove themselves from the whole gospel.  

For the whole gospel issues the edict, one must die to themselves, take up their cross and follow Him.  Yet, in this modern era of church gospel, there is no death to self, no cross to bear, and following Christ faithful and completely is optional for far too many.  This is the perverted gospel.  And Christians and the church must be resolved to stay stedfast, faithful and true to the whole gospel of Christ.  There is a continual death, there is a continual following of Him into the spiritual disciplines and faithful service.  How else can Christ profess before the Father unless we be found as He has said?  How can the Father declare, 'Well done' if we have not done well.  WE must be resolved to be true to the true Gospel of Christ.  Know it, speak it, read it, share it and follow it.  

Let us come against the devices of Satan that seeks to undo this true gospel.  Religions, cults, false doctrines, or as Paul said it in Timothy, 'doctrine of demons'; we must recognize, pray against and stand against.  For they seek, as wolves, in sheep's clothing, to steal the sheep and devour them.  Recognize those things that seek to cause men to lose heart, lose passion, lose faithfulness unto this glorious Gospel.  Time, money, sports, entertainment, family all pulling to cause men to replace their allegiance ot Christ, with something else of this world.  They have replaced eternity, with this life's temporal; they have replaced spiritual with fleshly; they have replaced heavenly, with worldly.  What a great battle is found to fight in the church for the very soul of these followers of Christ.  Everything in this age is pulling men away from the things of God.  Fight a good fight against these evil that seek to remove them from the true gospel of Christ.  

The very prayer of Christ, 'deliver them from evil' is a main prayer for us.  A prayer to restrict and restrain Satan from his involvement in their lives, minds and hearts that would cause them to remove themselves from Him.  A prayer for overcoming as the battle is being laid out over days, weeks and months.  Continue on, knowing that your adversary, and mind and theirs is walking about seeking whom he may devour.   Let not Satan have his will and way.  But pray more earnestly that God's will and way be done in their lives and the church life.  Something is not right in this day and age of the church, so long as the word holy and Christ like is not presented, nor strived for.  Nothing is right in the gospel of Christ so long as the church and men seek to lower the standards that Christ has set forth.  Nothing is right of compromising or being settled in this world and with the ways of this world..  "Love not the world, neither the things of this world. . .for these are all things that are enmity against God."  Turn your eyes upon Jesus, and look into His wonderful face and the things of this world shall grow largely dim.

EPIDEMICS
1. Drugs/alcohol; 2.  Children; 3.  Natural Disasters; 4.  Pestilence; 5.  LGBT; 6.  Great Evil; 7.  Economy
Great evil continues to mystify me.  Stats have lessened drastically.  Murder-suicides running 1 per day, where ti has been runnign 2 or 3 per day;  mass murders were at 1 per month, but we have had 6 in October;  7 police officers have been killed this month;  A great variance in these stats.  I simply sit before the Lord and ask, 'What does this mean? What is coming? What is going on?'

Simply praying against the other evils, largely affected by minds and hearts.  Herein is the war - minds & hearts.  

UPDATE:

--bible readings up through Colossians; T - 6 days to go to finish for #59;  word study - wait; fear/afraid;
--A Word - up through Jeremiah 23:30;  was able to do better this week in finishing verses, but only a few of those not finished was I able to go back and get;  sitting in chapter 23 at 1/2 finished;
--Thursday Hour of Prayer - I have had to miss the last 2 weeks of this because of other things; looking to get back and build this into corporate prayer times via Google Meet;
--Monday Bible study - up through Deuteronomy 4;  facebook crashed for live stream on Monday; other channels were okay;  And we was still able to do the Google Meet;
--Sunday services - Keyser Church at 10 AM:  Fox's Hollow - SS at 2 PM continuing through Revelation; 3 PM - worship;
--Community Prayer 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month at 6 PM:

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
