PRAYER EMAIL - OCTOBER 14

 Greetings,
". . .as we went to prayer. . ."  Acts 16:18

Do you ever have those moments when your going to church, or to serve, or even preach, and Satan is waiting for you?  Always it is to cause some disturbance, some distraction to get your focus off of Him, and on the issue at hand.  Here, in this passage, the Apostle Paul is on his way to pray, a most holy moment.  "We" are going to pray; so it is a corporate time of prayer.  There is a damsel following Paul and this company.  She is demon possessed.  And she is verbally assaulting them, yet we also know it is a spiritual war against them.  I have no doubt, that Satan knows what they are going to do and he is every bit opposed to prayer.   And Paul turns to her, after letting it go for a while to deal with this.  And he rebukes the demon and sets the girl free.  It was not the same kind of prayer, but it was prayer in the Name of Jesus to set the damsel free and the evil spirit away.

But those who used the damsel for their purposes; and from the evil within her, were not happy.  How rare it is today to find those that oppose Satan and recognize demons in our midst.   It is a necessary moment for the church to address the evil of our day.  And even rarer is it among the brethren to find those that have the power of the Holy Ghost, that can actual rebuke and cast them out.  We've changed the name of evil on everything that disguises its true purpose.  Mental illness covers a wide, broad spectrum of activity today.  Mental illness covers a wide range from chemical imbalance, to real emotional and mental strain that leads to depression and direst.  But rarely do we hear or understand that some of this mental illness is demonic activity.   Where are those, like Paul, that has the knowledge, eyesight that can turn and deal with it, for I fear the vast majority of the church doesn't believe in this anymore.  But we can not be those that would rather allow for it to continue and just "go along" with it.  

But this was on the way to prayer.  And they never made it there, because her masters caught them and arrested them.  Satan used it to stop the prayer time.  And the sooner we learn this truth the better, Satan will do anything to stop real, effectual prayer.  Let the pastor or the church call for prayer.  Satan will do everything to undo it.  Set your heart to get into your prayer closet more and be more intimate with the Lord; Satan will see that doesn't happen.  Everything is at stake for our nation, for our future and the for state of the church.  The whole condition of lost masses, greater evil and powerless Christianity must be prayed for and prevailed for.  You would think this would compel the church to seek the Lord more with such issues at hand, but it doesn't.  There is talk of it, but not much action to it.  We go along with them, rather than resist the devil.  REcognize who or what is seeking to keep us from prayer.  And realize that Satan knows exactly what to do to the church, the Christian to make sure they never make it to prayer.

With what is at stake, we must make it to prayer to the prayer meeting, the prayer time.  We must be more dogmatic about prayer times and prayer gatherings.  We must be constant in prayer, "continue in prayer".  Earlier in this passage of Acts 16, it state, 'the place where prayer was wont to be made' is mentioned.  That place must be sought for and found.  And if not found, then make a place for it.  It is way past time to make our secret closets the sweetest, brightest, most frequented places in the house.  And the church must become a house of prayer again.  The old truth, 'if we don't learn to pray out of desperation, then we will pray in desolation.'   That time is coming.  Make sure nothing keeps you from prayer.

Hold fast this great verse in Isaiah, "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement thou shalt condemn.  This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of Me, saith the Lord."   Hold fast to such promises from the One, Who cannot lie.  Who fast to His truth of what is willing and able to do for His beloved people.  Ask for these things for the brethren, 'pray one for another'.  And know that if Satan cannot get to me, he will try to get to you; and vice versa, if he can't get to you, he's coming for me.  May the power of prevailing prayer be evident in the victory of Him fulfilling such promises for us.  God grant you the power of overcoming the evil one.

Updates:
1.  Ebola outbreak in Uganda;
2.  war rhetoric increases and more nations being drawn in;
3.  Great Evil - last week, I shared that the stats had almost come to a complete standstill.  But over this last week, there has been 5 police officers killed this month; and 4 mass murders.  Murder-suicides and mass shootings have remained unusually low.  Something is amiss here, but I can't get a clear word from the Lord on it.  Something else is coming, as this has changed drastically.
4.  Warning signs continue for Great Britain of economic collapse; Switzerland also made a major shift in their banks this past week;  Tanzania reported the major supply chains are gone.  Shelves are bare throughout the country.  These are warning signs of economic judgement to impact world.  If Britain collapses, they are the 6th world economy; it will have wild ripple affects on nations.  Prepare!

--A Word - Jeremiah 23:22;  been a better week of finishing verses;  but still left with bulk of this chapter to finish and 7 verses in chapter 22;

--Thursday Hour of Prayer - was not able to do this past Thursday; I was scheduled ot be in Austin for their prayer conference; but Pastor Kie Bowman sent me the live stream to watch with them;
--Sunday - Keyser Church at 10 AM; Fox's Hollow - SS at 2 PM; Worship at 3 PM;
--Pastors Community Prayer - 1st and 3rd Sundays;

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
