PRAYER EMAIL - SEPTEMBER 24

 Greetings,
"And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,"   Haggai 1:14

One word has come to me over these last two weeks, 'stir yourself up'.  I think it is let down from August, where we had the 80 hours of prayer and then concluded the month with over 3 days of fasting and prayer to hear from Him.  Coming into September and all the distractions it has presented, focus and time alone with Him has not been what it was.  It is not to lessen, but increase.  For I fear, that it is an hour that we need to hear from the Lord for what is happening and what is coming.  We see in the Old Testament, repeated in verses on this word 'stir'.  Most of them are regarding men and God stirring up adversaries against another person or people.  But then we have the verses, specifically in Exodus, where they were stirred up to bring and do for the tabernacle being finished and completed with workers, materials and provisions.  God is referenced, as in this verse, to stir up the spirit and hearts of men to do His purposes and will.

What is the purposes and will of God that we need stirred up in?  His glory!  His kingdom!  His kingdom has become more of a priority in my prayers, especially the 'watch' that He has me on in my prayer times.  A realization given, 'if God's kingdom advances and is victorious; most of the other things that are asked for and sought are already taken care of.'  And what about the house of the Lord, what about His church?  How many in the pulpits and members in the churches are stirred up to do the work in the house of the Lord?  It says here, 'they came and did the work".  Why? Because God stirred up their hearts and spirits to go and do.  Oh, that there was such a spirit among us today.  In so many reports and stats we see and hear that men's hearts and spirits are more filled with lethargy than passion; more cold than hot; more self, than the Savior.  We need a revival of our spirits to be stirred up to come and do the work of His kingdom and the church.

We see false means of stirring up, mainly emotions.  It is moving, emotionally, to hear a preacher froth at the mouth, loud and fast and boisterous.  It gets the crowds buzzing and moving, jumping, and dancing, and ready to take on the world.  It is what is largely termed today, 'motivational speaking', 'coaching and cheerleading'.  But how long does such speaking and emotions lasts?   Does God honor this?  Is this about Him, or self?  I use catalysts in my praying to stir myself up to engage on certain things.  I see young people sitting and contemplating suicide or murderous attacks, I visualize this to move me to pray against this evil.  I see loved ones and men in hell and I know the horrors of hell, to move me to seek for their salvation, before they actually end up there.  But these catalysts are about the issue at hand, and although they may be helpful, Christ must be my focus and priority.  His kingdom come, and His will be done.  These things are essential to pray for and engage, but Christ is preeminent first in prayer.  The other targets will come, if Christ stirs up the heart.  For I wonder, how many hearts can be stirred up to pray and engage in battle against suicide, murders, lostness and eternity, but the Lord didn't stir the heart and spirit, we did.  These are things to consider and meditate on.  Who is stirring up and what is its focus and priority?

Men can rally themselves up and stir themselves to rise up and do, but if the Lord is not in it, they labor in vain.  WE need a move of God, that is stirred by Him in the spirits and hearts to cause His true children to obey and submit and surrender to His ways, will and word.  Our prayer should be more about God stirring us up rather than men seeking to stir themselves up.  Isn't this humanism, when preachers seek to stir them up in emotions? or when we try in our own strength to stir up our situations and activities and agendas.  When our right motive is, 'Lord if its not of you, let it fall to the wayside and perish; but Lord if your stirring our hearts and spirits, let us not hesitate to respond and do it. '  There must be a discernment of who and what is doing the stirring .  For many have said and gave credit to God for action and reaction, but I fear it is too much like the scenario of Elijah at the mouth of the cave, 'earthquake, fire and wind, but the Lord was not in them.'   If the Lord is not in it, flee from it.  It will come to nought.

But we see here the temple was to be built and furnished.  God's hand stirred up the leaders to do it for His glory and purpose.  Thus, the kingdom, the church and the Word are set forth for His glory.  WE can stir ourselves up to do these, knowing it is in His Presence.  Our worship, our work, and our wills to be stirred up for Him, by Him and in Him.  'Not works, lest men should boast'; 'not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord.'   Let the prayer be for God to stir and everything else will fall into place.

NOTE:  for those of you that follow, we started using google meet on Monday Bible study and Thursday Hour of Prayer;  prayer leaders, would you consider taking 1 Thursday out of the month to join us and help lead.  Prayer partners, we look forward to you joining us to build a corporate prayer time together for the things of His glory and kingdom.  Let me know and we will send you the google meet link for you to join us.

PRAYER TARGETS:
EPIDEMICS:
1.  Drugs/Alcohol - the rise of death and abuse of drugs and alcohol, is getting ready to push us over the edge;  the epidemic will swallow us completely;  we see and hear China will not let up sending fentanyl and the other nations sending it into the US To destroy us.  US seems to have no desire to fight it or end it either; and the church remains largely silent over serious intercession for deliverance and eradication of this evil;  Another one that we will have to answer for at judgement seat, 'On your watch, your generation, your day, you allowed this evil.'

2.  Children - deliverance is so needed in so many ways for this younger generation; no knowledge of Christ; demons; abuse and predatory means to get to them;  neglect and abuse in homes; horrible situations over the last two weeks;  3 yr. old fighting for their life after step dad fractured skull;

3.  LGBT -

4.  Natural Disasters - earthquakes registered 3, 7.0 earthquakes over the last weeks, and several strong 6.0's, one 6.9 in Taiwan;  I warned that after quietness, what this would mean, and it did it!  hurricane forecast to hit FL next week, opposite end of Philip's place;

5.  Pestilence - covid continues its same pattern; US still among top 5 in cases and deaths world wide; monkeypox has I think finally been lessened as it is only among homosexual men;  cancers surge has stopped largely, but we stand at 24 on lists;

6.  Great Evil -   please take note!  for over a decade I have followed, shared, prayed and sought for this evil to be undone.  Over the last month, it almost seems, like that prayer has been answered.  On all of the several points we pray: murder-suicides, mass shootings, police officers and mass murders, they have all drastically stopped or lessened.  One would think I could rejoice!  But unfortunately, I fear that this means this epidemic, although lessened, has not stopped, but will continue to some decree; but it ends, that the next one will happen.  For this epidemic filled the land with blood, blood which has not been repented of nor cleansed from.  Blood which must be answered for.  I continue to pray against minds and hearts of this evil.  But I fear we are only transitioning to the next epidemic of death and dying.

7.  Economy - markets are crashing this past week;  some economic advisors are saying, crash is within a month;  others are extending till at least end of year, or first of the new year;  But all agree it is near.  Are you ready?

UPDATE:
--bible readings - finished Old Testament; 30 days left for NT; still doing numerous word studies - 'wait'; 'fear/afraid' I think I have all these now;  And as I finish the Old Testament, I wrote in the back of my bible all the things of God - God's Thoughts; God's heart; God's spirit; God's mind;
--A Word - Jeremiah -  I still have 7 verses to finish in chapter 22;  first 5 verses of chapter 23 are started, only 2 are finished;  Been a rough week to complete these, so I'm starting one verse each day, but when you don't finish them, they start to pile up;
--Monday Bible Study - Deuteronomy 2 &3:  started google meet with the study, this allows those outside area to participate and interact, rather than live stream;
--Thursday Hour of Prayer - continue and getting ready to finish up the 7 areas of the "Watch"; also have added google meet, which allows for us to actually do corporate prayer over the prayer target;  consider joining me for this;
--Sunday - Keyser Church - at 10 AM; Fox's Hollow  - 2 PM SS; 3 PM worship;
--Pastors Prayer 1st and 3rd Sunday evening of each month;
--SBC Prayer Link meeting next week at Ridgecrest;

Until,
Dan
