PRAYER EMAIL - AUGUST 20

 Greetings,
"For thus saith the Lord, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth."  Isaiah 21:6
"Watchman, what of the night?  Watchman, what of the night?"  Isaiah 21:11

God still has me chewing, meditating and writing on the 'watch'.  One of the last sections of 'Christian in Complete Armour' by Gurnall, was on prayer, a very blessed section; the watch; and the ambassador of Christ to preach the gospel with boldness.  Powerful sections and great leadings by the Spirit on all 3.  But it is the 'watch' that God is teaching me on currently.  This was culminated with the 80 Hours of Prayer that we did a few weeks ago.  I never heard from one person on 'what the Lord said or revealed to you during your prayer time'.  So many of you ask and look forward to see what He said; well, nothing to report.  I will only share a few things, in regards to this watch.

God calls for a watchman to be set.  Habakkuk 2, "I will stand upon my watch, and set upon the tower, and will watch to see what He will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved."  This verse, is my theme each night as I go into prayer time with minutes of absolute silence, adoration and gazing.  I hear it over and over, 'Look unto Me'; 'Gaze upon Me (Rev. 1); 'Behold, My hands and feet"; and Behold the Son of God that taketh away the sins of the world.   Watch and pray is the directive.  And the watch begins with knowing Him, God the Father, Son and Spirit.  God the Father, He Who sits on the throne, Who liveth for ever and ever.  And at His right hand the Son of God, my Savior, my Lord.  And behold the 7 spirits before the throne, which is the Spirit of God.   See it, behold it, know it.  As often as men pray, 'Lord, come down';  Or they quote Isaiah 'rend the heavens and come down'.  Isn't it better to go up than for Him to come down?  Both are equally needed, and God is not limited to one or the other.  But I know many that cry out for Him to come down.  But they have never consider going up before His throne.

God called Ezekiel and said, 'I have made you my watchman'.  The watchman sits before Him, hears from Him and then reports to the people for Him.  Are you listening before Him?  Too much emphasis in the American church has been taught on 'asking, speaking to God'; and so very little on listening To God.  Isn't prayer a two way street?  Not just one way, where we go in and spew all our concerns and requests and never give Him a second to speak to us.  Or we never give Him a moment to speak, we do all the talking and then rush out of His Presence before He has a chance to impart to us.  Do you remember that old hymn, 'Speak to my heart"?   Who are the watchman that God has called and set upon the walls of the city, the homes, the souls, the nation, the church?

Which leads us to the second verse from above, verse 11.  Watchman, what of the night?  Asked twice, because of the importance of the message.  Now note, the watch times - we will use Psalm 55 for this, 'Evening, morning and at noon will I lift up my cry unto Thee.'  Daniel prayed 3 times a day.  Set the time regularly, daily before the Lord to watch for the souls of men.  Are you being faithful to report to the Lord, that you have kept your watch?  Or are you as that picture I have posted, 'the watchman asleep on the tower, while the enemy hoards come barreling over the hill side ready to attack the city'.  'Awake, awake, watchmen it is high time to awake and come out of sleep'.

 I asked a question over the last week, that I am still musing over as the Lord leads:   Is not every evil, sin, bad calamity, or circumstance, that has happened to us, our families, churches, nation, and in history due to the fact that there was no watchman caring for the soul or the things of God?   What say you?

The watch and the watchman have specific responsibilities of who and what they are to watch.  God is still speaking and revealing these things to me.  Of course, there is the common ones that we know:
1.  we our to watch for our souls;  'They made me keeper of the vineyard, but my own vineyard I did not keep.'  'after preaching to others, I, myself, might be a cast away', set on the shelf, no longer to be used of God;  "now unto Him Who is able to keep you from falling'
2.  we watch for our families - every extension of loved ones, how much more for those that pray not for themselves, nor have any regard for God;
3.  watch for the church - Christ told Peter, 'I have watched for you, Satan has desired to sift you, but I prayed for you'.  Watch for His bride - brothers and sisters in Christ;
4.  whose watching for the nation(s) - have you read Norman Grubbs - "Rees Howells - Intercessor" how him interceded and watch for England & Ethiopia;  How about Rex Andrews who prayed for the US for 30 years, every night, from 10 PM - till 4 or 5 AM, or until the burden lifted;  died in 1979, and I'm still asking who does God use now that intercedes for the nation?  Take your hand off the wheel, or lessen off the plow and it will go astray and run afoul - is this not the course of our nation since 1980?
5.  watch for soul - eternity always in view;  hell for eternity for the damned and lost;  I made someone made recently in a sermon, when I preached on our lost loved, 'Do you see your loved one in hell?"  Apparently they never considered that.  And why not, in this generation that everyone that dies goes to heaven, no one goes to hell any more.  This seems to be the standard, but we know it is not biblical.
6.  watch and war a good war in the minds and hearts of men;
7.  the beginning of this week, God spoke and said, 'watch for the day'  and there was much to glean in this

These are a few of the areas to watch, the times to watch, and the places to watch.  And what wonderful power is shown from this time of watching.   Who's watching for you?  Who are you watching for?  What is it that the church should be watching?

Christ said, 'Watch and pray"  Be faithful brethren, for there is much in these days to watch for our Lord's glory, purpose, and will to be done.
'Watchman, what of the night?"

5.  LGBT - this evil is rapidly increasing to the transgender push by evil men;  the abuse on our children and perversion is behind it;  It will lead to a complete demoralization and assault on all children of this next generatioin.  It will bring us to our final hours as a nation, without a move from God to redeem and help us in this.

6.  GREAT EVIL - great victories over this as stats have greatly decreased these last two months.  Still moments happening, but greatly reduced accounts.  Continue to press in for victory over this evil.

7.  ECONOMY - 3 - 6 months are what they are forecasting; watch and wait to see.  It will come. It has to come.  We have had so much for so long and we will known want as the rest of the nations for our great abominations.
