PRAYER EMAIL - JULY 9

 Greetings,

"What wickedness is this that is done among you?"  Judges 20:12

Here is another form of that great question in the Bible, 'What hast thou done?"  Some day I will get this book written.  With reaching the 1/2 way mark of this year, all of us should have time for introspection in our walk and relationship with the Lord.  Are we read up? praying up? telling others about eternity? and serving rightly? Tied into this answer is our devotion from last week, 'ways and doings'.  But here at the end of Judges, is that wretched account of the men of Gibeah, those wicked ones, men of Belial.  They had taken that young girl and abused her all night and she died the next morning.   And when the leaders of Israel were gathered together they approached the rulers of Benjamin to turn these wicked men over for judgement.  But the men of Benjamin refused to do so.  Thus in answer to the question, 'what wickedness is this done among you?' The answer is that they compromised and enabled them to remain in their wickedness.

What wickedness is done among us today? First, we have changed the vocabulary to lessen the impact of evil, sinful words.  For the vast majority, is there anything wicked?  is the word used?  Listen to sermons and the words used.  Listen to hear words men use, are they words that comprise the whole selection of God's words or whether they are the changed modern words of this age to tickle men's ears.  Wickedness, evil, sin, abomination, hell, hellfire, repentance, eternity, holy, holiness -- are these words used?   Or do you hear -- mistakes, slips, fallen down, bumps in the road, happiness, feel good, blessings for you?   Language chosen by men may have changed the words used in the message of the gospel, but God has not changed, nor His Word, nor His words.  This change impacts what men are saved from, and what they are saved to.  And how much does such language change our prayer lives? Are the churches found praying for self and humanistic terms, rather than heavenly terms? This would definitely explain why 98% of most prayer requests are physical and little to no spiritual requests.   You can note the difference of those that seek to be in His Presence vs. those that simply seek HIs Presence for their needs and wants.

This is wickedness found among the brethren, found within pulpits and churches that must be acknowledged and dealt with. But the wickedness done among us in our land is very evident.  With the latest Supreme Court ruling, some of the most vile, evil, wicked things has been heard and posted on social media.  One woman ranting and shouting, "we are proud that we can kill babies".  Wow!  Or the blasphemous T-shirt that has its message, "If Mary would have had an abortion, none of this mess would be happening."  They show clearly who's they are, they speak their evil hearts intent and serve Satan.   It's hard to conceive of such things openly declared and spoken in this society, but it reminds us how lost and evil our nation is.  'What evil is this that is done among you?'  It is the evil of hell, and self.  God and all His word, will and ways are rejected and sought to be destroyed.  WE are in an unprecedented era, that many of us 10 or 20 years ago, did not think we would ever see or know.  All Scripture of the end times is playing out right in front of us, including the wickedness of this age.

Now this Levite did a wicked think also, in cutting this woman up into 12 pieces and sending her throughout all of Israel.  'Such a thing had never been done before or after", that statement reveals the impact of this wickedness.  And he did it with the intent to rouse a response by all the nation, 'consider of it, take advice and speak your minds.'   "Put forth what you think of what these wicked men that did this  and what should be done to them", this was what he was saying.   And do we not see such things today!   We have a drug death issue in our nation, with over 100,000 deaths per year now and increasing.  And several congressmen this past week got mad that Bidden did not legalize marijuana across the board for recreational use and business practices.  People are dying from drugs, and we legalize more use of it.  Portland's drug death rate should be a lesson that legalizing doesn't control it, only increases and enables more death and dying.   What folly is this that increases use and practice of that which already is an epidemic on our homes, streets and cities.   This is madness!

And what consideration, advice and speaking your minds shall we say of the foolishness of LGBT issues that throws out all reason of what men, women and protection of children's innocence is.   Is there any remedy to Romans 1, where God gives them and pronounces death to them for their rejection of Him and embracing of abominations?   And if this death and sentencing of God is put upon such a nation, a society, how much more as He starts into Romans 2, where He condemns those that judge of these abominations and wickedness done among you, that they do the same secretly.   This is the church being hypocritical.  Let such things not be named among us.  'Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate.   This wickedness among us, there is no remedy but a true, Holy Ghost sent spiritual awakening that delivers men completely from all wickedness and makes them completely new creatures in Christ Jesus.  And such wickedness among the church, a Holy Ghost fire to purge His church and make us completely holy as He is holy.  Oh God, help us!  Send a revival, send a spiritual awakening.  Not man made, nor contrived on men's emotions; but true Holy Ghost power that does what only God can do.

When we see and know and acknowledge the wickedness that is done among us, how does this impact your prayer closet? your corporate prayer meeting?   What words do you use? what words do you hear prayed by others?  How much of this wickedness is dealt with and spiritual warfare is fought?  Our language matters, our words matter.  Our approach to God matters.  Largely, the church has lost the fear of God, they seem to have forgotten, 'it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."  May I ask of you to add and increase your prayer times for fear of the Lord, holiness, eternity and may our language, words and prayer targets match His, rather than the worlds.   Help us, O God, help us we pray!
