PRAYER EMAIL - 80 HOURS OF PRAYER

 Greetings,
"He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the Lord."  II Kings 4:33

Numerous places found through Scripture we see this phrase, 'he prayed'; 'they prayed'; 'she prayed'.  And throughout history it is recorded of those that went in, shut the door and prayed and prevailed for a victory.  It is the great privilege to pray; it is our responsibility to pray.  It is commanded of us what to pray and how to pray.  And it is our only hope now.  Our failure to pray, so as to prevail, has ushered this great evil that is upon us now.  Prayerlessness is the root of all this evil abounding in our generation and society.  Our lack of being houses of prayer and men and women of prayer has allowed for hell to run rough shod over our society, homes and the churches.  Where is the victory from the church today over this evil of our day?  

There are many that are praying.  Just ask them and they will tell you, 'I pray'.  But ask them deeper of how they pray and when they pray and what they pray, and you will hear wherein our prayerlessness is found.  Elisha went in and prayed until the victory was given.  A dead man raised up to life by the power of prayer and the power of Almighty God answering that prayer.  Christ is Victorious and Overcomer.  And He promised us the same thing.  Where are men raising the dead to life?  We hear and see the social media posts of those being 'saved' and baptized.  Yet, we know that well over 70% of them in the next 3 months to 18 months will be back out of the church and back in sin and worse than when they began.  Because now they believe they are born again because some man told them so.  This is not New Testament Christianity.  I thought when Christ saved a man, that old things passed away and all things became new; that a man died to self and lives for the Saviour; that he gives up the things of this world and seeks the things of the next world.  That habits and addictions and sins are overcome and victory is given as they walk in newness of life.  Not this practice of struggling over addictions and habits, not this life of never abounding in grace and mercy; never speaking to anyone of their eternity; daily they live that the Bible is optional, prayer optional and church optional.  Truly I do not recognize the church today compared to New Testament Scripture and church history.  

I search in my own life, almost daily for these same marks that align with Scripture.  Where is the answered prayers? where is the victory?  Why are something's hindered?  and left unanswered?  How often am I going in and shutting the door and there before the Lord awaiting and expecting and seeking for Him to do what only He can do.  I can not raise a dead man, but God can.  What are we asking God for with fervency, urgency and a state of emergency?   Why do men's prayer lives grow cold?  Why the struggle to find a Holy Spirit passionate prayer meeting?  Why the struggle to find a prayer meeting at all?  It is the revelation of our sad state.  And one that must change quickly.  

Rise up my brethren, go in, and wait before the Lord.  Be that man or woman of prayer God has called you to be.  Rise up into His Presence and be filled with His glory.  "Take time to be holy, speak oft with thy Lord'.  Set the burden of our nation, the church, our families and our own walk with Him before Him.  He is faithful to hear and answer.  Count the promises of God, recite them unto Him. "Lord, You said. . . " for God's Word will not return unto Him void.  God is able!   Remember that what we do in the secret closet when we go in and shut the door, impacts and is a reflection of the corporate prayer meetings.  I fear many will have corporate prayer meeting, but never in the secret closet.  And there are some that I hear of that declare they pray in the secret closet but never in the corporate.  Or those that have wept much because they pray in the secret closet but their pastor or local churches never have a corporate prayer meeting.  I hear of this sin of prayerlessness more than any other in our communities, counties and regions and states.  

Brethren, be men and women of prayer.  And seek and obey in the corporate prayer meetings.  Oh, that we would once again become houses of prayer and men and women of prayer for His glory!  God forgive us for prayerlessness.  And God take us each higher in our prayer lives.  Do what only You can do Lord.  And bring glory to Your Name through us and throughout all the earth, glorify Your name.

80 Hours of Prayer
Starting:  July 31, 4 PM (EST)

Ending:  August 3, at Midnight (EST):
Focused Prayer on Revival, Spiritual Awakening and Spirit filled church and Christians:

Time slots are 15 minutes, 30 minutes and 60 minutes;  Be practical.  Most cannot pray an hour about these specific things, so only take the slot that you can do. 

Sending this out to local pastors and churches and you all that are on this prayer email lists and those that are  the church and prayer leaders that receive it.  Total of 75, so we should easily fill times.    Pass alone to other prayer groups to help us.  
One week away, so please respond quickly and lets fill these time slots up.   

PRAYER TARGETS:
EPIDEMICS
1.  Drugs/Alcohol - over 1 million deaths since 1999; repeated rate of increased deaths across the nation;  dying faster than church reaching them;  where is the victory & deliverance? 

2.  Children - continued blight upon the innocent; sex trafficking; abuse in homes, peer pressure, pushed to suicide increase, raised by internet and social media;  NO CHRIST, NO GOD in their lives;  do you know the verse in Deuteronomy?  'this is a forward generation, children in whom is no faith"

3.  LGBT - continued and increased acceptance; increasing compromise by church & families; laws & judicial edicts; no doubt without a major revival and awakening, this will become a means to target churches across the board as federal hate crimes and loss of all freedoms by the church;   

4.  Natural Disasters - earthquakes and hurricanes are extremely quiet;  US is over 1/2 covered in drought conditions; extreme in southwest and west; hottest recorded temperatures across Europe, Middle EAst and Asia;

5.  Pestilence - covid cases of BA.5;  US still among top 5 in cases per day and deaths;  world wide average of cases in death is 1200 - 1500 per day; US avg. 200 - 400  per day; Cases world wide is 1 million avg.  US around 100,000 per day in cases;   Monkey Pox increases world wide; first 2 US children have it; a direct link to homosexuality and contradicted this;   

6.  Great Evil - police officers had their 40th death for the year;  4 for the month of July; 3 within the last week;  Murder-suicides hit 400 for the year; 1 mass murder for July so far;

7.  Economy - dollar hits high among other countries; continued shortages; massive lay offs at major corporations, trickle down to smaller businesses; Several are now saying next 100 days to see something significant.

--Pastor's Prayer on 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month;

100 HOURS OF PRAYER - DEC. 2023

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
