SOLEMN ASSEMBLY INIVATION - JUNE 5, 2022

 Greetings,
"Call for a Solemn Assembly"

We will be hosting a special time of prayer on June 5, 2022 at Fox's Hollow Baptist Church, Romney, WV.  You are being invited to join us in person, or via live stream at www.brokenbeforethethrone.com and on social media of facebook and youtube channels (Dan Biser page & channel).  This most needed time to come before the Lord, started out, with just our local church and Keyser church body to come before the Lord for us.  But since we set and announced it, things locally and nationally and within our SBC convention has exploded with a greater need of prayer.  We have stretched out to "just us" to invite and encourage others across the SBC to host Solemn Assemblies.  We, as a body of believers, are accustomed to having Solemn Assemblies and corporate prayer meetings.  But we realize that many across the church body, may not be familiar or aware to what a Solemn Assembly is, or why the church should have one.  

The Solemn Assembly, is set forth in the book of Joel upon numerous remedial judgements from God upon the land of Israel and the people of Israel.  These remedial judgements are sent because of their great sins that had defiled them, as God's people, and the land.  And God spoke through His prophets, "when you see these things happening, call for a Solemn Assembly".  It is to make the wrongs right; it is a corrective responsive.  God's people are to know why these things are happening, and what their response before God is to be.  Our nation and the lost, do not know nor understand these things; but the church should.  Thus, we call for a gathering, a coming together to put these things before the Lord and seek His mercy and forgiveness.  "Your sins and iniquities have separated between you and your God."

What has happened?   
Locally  -our church was taken advantage of and defiled.  So we seek to consecrate and renew our vows before the Lord.   Also, since the middle of April, the following counties have seen murder take place.  An unprecedented death in our rural surrounding area of homicides.   The counties of Hampshire, Mineral, Allegany, Garrett, Preston, Grant, Bedford (PA), and yesterday, a further county of WV, Nicholas, have all had tragic murders and death take place, within this last month and half.  "Blood defiles the land".  Minds and hearts are evil affected, and God is removing restraints of protection.  

Church - we continued to seek for revival.  It is Pentecost Sunday, and we are in need of a Divine Holy visitation from God upon His church.  Everything is being lost of what God demands and requires; holiness, righteousness, faithfulness, spiritually minded, eternally minded and love and service for His kingdom and Name sake.   These things are being replaced with the things of the world and flesh.  We need God!  Our SBC convention a few weeks ago, had the sex task force report released.  And it reported and revealed the depth of numerous sins of those that abused, groomed, and exploited innocent, members, largely children and teens for their own evil, sexual sins.  This was only a report largely of the last 20 years, but a reflection of how vile we have become.  

Nationally - Since we set this Solemn Assembly, our nation has been riddled with unprecedented death and dying by mass shootings and mass murders.  This again is a reminder of how far we have fallen.  And all the debating is about everything, and who's to blame, except coming before the Lord for help and mercy.  Our nation is coming apart and only to get worse in the months to come.  The need of a great spiritual awakening is needed like never before.  We need God.  

In response to these 3 areas of great need, we call for a Solemn Assembly to seek the Lord.  It is not just a 'one and done' event.  It is a culmination of our fasting and prayers before, and will continue after the mercies of the Lord.  You are being asked to join us in prayer and fasting for these areas.  And is it the hope and promise of Scripture, 'Who knows if God will repent and turn and leave a blessing behind Him for us."  This is what we seek.

CONTINUE IN PRAYER #2 Invite Letter for 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC

 Greetings, "Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;" Colossians 4;2 We are just under one month away from our "100 Hours of Prayer for SBC". We are set to gather as many from SBC life to have a continual spirit of prayer for the work of God to be done in us and through us. The work of God does not come about by the means of men, but by prevailing prayer. Oh, that every SBC church, over 40,000 were to be powerhouses of prayer for the kingdom of God. Truly such a spirit of prayer would enrich the church to accomplish much of the kingdoms business around the world.
