PRAYER EMAIL - JUNE 25

 Greetings,

"And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, Separate Yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.  And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin and wilt Thou be wroth with all the congregation?"   Numbers 16:20 - 22;  16:44 - 45

I find myself so often in readings of Scripture and saying, 'And are we not here?"  I finished Jude, in 'The Activity of God' study, and all the Scriptures revealing the end times, 'and are we not here'.  My blog devotional/commentary - A Word; I am in Jeremiah 18, and all these verses of the wicked people and saying, 'and are we not here.'  Yea, I cannot read or meditate on almost anything, and not say this phrase.  So let us look at where we are.

With the Supreme Court ruling on Dobbs, the response was as anticipated.  The vile spewing of the wicked in support to murder the innocent, it is almost unthinkable.  Self, evil, threats, vileness published, spoken, threatened against any that stand in contrary fashion to them.  All revealing and reminding us once again, how lost our nation is.  How great is the evil of our land before a Holy God.  And shall He not do to us what He did to Sodom and Gomorrah?  what He did to the other nations and empires that rejected Him?  Its already in motion.  The remedial judgements have turned to the epidemics that I have shared for a little over two years.  And the death and dying stats all revealing that we have entered into final judgement.  People are dying far faster than the church is reaching them.  Eternity is one breath away!

God's anger against Israel raged.  God declares to His prophet Moses, what He is going to do to them, "Stand aside, I am going to consume them in a moment."  Final judgement!  And yet the prophet of the Lord; not once, twice but continually, stands before God in defiance of the Lord's edict, and pleads to spare the people and seek God to restrain Himself from the evil that He thought to do to them.  And are we not here. . .  God has caused us to carry this same heart for the eternity of the people.  Not just family or close friends, but even those that are strangers, unknown to us, even those that curse us and berate us in our Christianity.  Why?  Because we know what awaits them in eternity without Christ.  We know the reality of this thing called life.  For we are given life, to come to a saving knowledge of Him, that prepares us for all eternity.  

Oh, how many are perishing.  Oh, how wicked this land has become and we must stand in the gap as intercessors, for our very future depends on it.  Look at the masses of our reality:(of course these are estimates and rounded off stats)
--almost 8 billion are on this world; 1 billion are estimated to be Christians; 1 billion children under the ages of accountability;  that means 6 billion are on their way to hell now;
--in the US, our population is roughly 330 million; 50 million (estimated) under the age of accountability; leaving 280 million;  and out of that 50 million professing Christians (am I being too kind with this stat?)   leaving roughly 2/3 of our population without Christ;  and as recent polls have shown, we are not gaining as the church, but losing;
--in WV, our population is 1.6 million;  well over 1 million out of church and largely without Christ;  
--church counties I pastor:  Mineral county - 27,000 population; over 75 churches (Est) and on any given Sunday only about 5000 are in church, what about the other 22,000??
Hampshire county is about the same - 24,000 population, 95 churches; but only 3000 in church on Sundays:

And even though stats may fluctuate in places, the overall realization of our plight is right in front of us, 'the harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not yet saved.'   Men, lost and dying, families lost and perishing, not just one generation but multiple generations without Christ.  Evil has increased, wickedness pervades minds and hearts and all pointing us to our great need of God's help.  God says to the church, 'Stand aside, and I will consume your family, your streets, your cities, your nation, in a moment."  And we reply like Moses, getting before His throne and humbly bowed before Him pleading, 'Spare us O God; Spare us, O God".   "In wrath remember mercy".  "And knowing that God is gracious, merciful, longsuffering, abundant in goodness and truth. . ."  beseeching Him for these very attributes that He made known to Moses.  Moses used those very same attributes in asking for God's restraint.  And so should we.  God had grace and mercy upon me, upon many of you, will He not do the same for others?  He is the same yesterday, today and forever.  With the wickedness showing itself more and more, and the reality of our stats right in front of us.  None of these things should deter, but only quicken us in our appeal of how late the hour is and how great the need of salvation to the masses.  'Lift up your eyes and look, the harvest is white, but the laborers are few."  Do what?  "Pray for laborers to be sent"  And how much more for you and I, 'here am I, O Lord, send me".  God's wrath is pouring out.  Time is an issue.  And we must pray as Moses did in the face of God's wrath for His Divine outpouring of revival and spiritual awakening.  

I have just finished the section in William Gurnall's, 'Christian in Complete Armour" on extraordinary prayer.  Very powerful and convicting!   And resolved, no matter what we are doing, its not enough.  Go deeper, longer and more persistent and resolved.  Why?  Because of the eternity at stake for all these masses of people.  'Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done' for Your glory Name sake. Amen

PRAYER TARGETS:
EPIDEMICS
1.  Drugs/Alcohol - 1 million deaths due to drugs, since 1999;
2.  Children - neglect, abuse, sex trafficking, lost generation without knowledge of God; broken homes;
3.  Pestilence - covid;  stats continue to keep US at top tier of cases, and deaths world wide;
4.  Natural Disasters - earthquakes quiet; hurricane season ramping up;  continued drought over 1/2 US; 
5.  LGBT - Romans 1 coming to pass right in front of our eyes; destruction of society;  pushed agenda in every corner of our society;  acceptance by the church;
6.  Great Evil - June has produced increase in police officer death, 31 for year; 8 for June; mass shootings up to 279, 47 for this month; mass murders at 14, 3 for June:  murder-suicides at 329, 56 for June;  heightened increase in police officers deaths, mass shootings and murder-suicides increasing to over 2 per day, approaching 3 per day;  Death and dying;
7.  Economy - collapse approaching; shortages; crippling of banks, money and resources;  We will know want in this nation.  

UPDATE:
--bible readings up through Numbers 16;  no word or phrase study;
--The Activity of God - Revelation;  last book, last pages;  looking about a month to finish; what a journey, and a powerful study of God's activity;  The God Who changes Not!!   So excited to do this, and excited nearing the end after 4 years;
--A Word - up through Jeremiah 18:23;  finished all of chapter 17, and verses 1 - 10 are all finished in chapter, hit and miss on verses 11 - 20; 
--Thursday Hour of Prayer - feeling like I've come to an end on this;  asking, seeking and looking to a new means on this;  Looking at bringing in prayer warriors to pray for this hour; 
--Monday Bible Study - end of John 21;  looking at starting Deuteronomy for new study; 
--reading - "Christian in Complete Armour" last 140 pages out of 1100  pages;  should finish in next month;  powerful book;  been years working on this, with too many starts and stops; 
--Sunday services - Keyser Church & Fox's Hollow;
--Pastor's Prayer 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month;

100 HOURS OF PRAYER - DEC. 2023

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying. A generation ago, you could hear and know of 'all night prayer meetings'.  Now, they are a rare diamond to find.  Among Wednesday night church
