PRAYER EMAIL - MAY 28

 Greetings,
"And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  And it repented the Lord that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at HIs heart.   . . I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth;. . . for it repenteth Me that I have made them.   But Noah found grace  in the eyes of the Lord. . . The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. . . "  Genesis 6:5 - 13

After years of watching and documenting and relaying the remedial judgements upon our land, we continue to steamroll to this end.  "For as it was in the days of Noah, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."   The activity of God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  And the activity of man is the same as well.  Wicked men do wicked things.  God sees the wickedness of men that it is great in the earth.  You and I only see headlines and hear of reports of a portion of the violence in the earth, God sees it all.  God sees and knows the thoughts and the hearts of men.  Knowing the minds and hearts of men causes God's mind and heart to respond toward His creation.

I remembered the exact moment last Sunday at Fox's Hollow when I put before them to continue to pray for safety at schools.  We still had, for some areas, up till the middle of June to pray for their protection.  And when the news came across that there was a school shooting in Texas, my heart; as it always does when I see the headlines sank.  And as the hours went forth and the news reports got worse and worse, the grief got worse.  Children, dozens of children shot and killed in school rooms; gunned down unmerciful by another student, an 18 yr. old.  Every time, no matter one or dozens, it still produces in me that same response, "I failed, Lord".

All these years of seeing and knowing these judgements on our nation, on our families, and on the churches.  All these years, since Columbine, fighting to 'restrain evil' in the minds and hearts of evil men.  All these prayers, calls to prayer, and cries to God, to stop this evil.  Is God not able to stop it?  Absolutely, He is able; nothing is too hard for God.  But our means to prevail with God is an issue.  My failure, is expressed by others.  I remember vividly, one woman, when we were doing a 24 hour prayer time.  And she came into the next church service with tears and she confessed. She said, 'Did you see the reports of that school shooting the other day?"  And I answered, "yes'.  She said, "That shooting happened on my hour of prayer.  I failed."   That went through me like a hot knife.  I still have that same response as I report the epidemics and see and am made aware of the headlines.  Why do we keep praying, if nothing is changing and things are only getting worse?  Because it is the battle and the war that God has called us to fight.  Tough, weary and often alone in this battle.  Yet, God gives us His heart, His mind and we pray in agreement for His will and ways to be done.  "God would have all to be saved and delivered form this evil."   But this is the war of our age; for such a time as this.

Many have quit, get overwhelmed, and lose heart.  But for some reason, the remnant continues to rouse itself up.  You can hear them say to one another, 'Play the man'.  Soon this war will be over for our nation.  Soon this war will be over for many of us.  We shall leave this world, for our eternal home.  And really all that will matter then is, how did you fight?  did you persevere? did you remain stedfast?  or did you quit?  Rise up, frail children of the dust, and serve Him, Who is worthy.   You can hear the Spirit speaking, 'he that has ears to hear, let him hear'; fight on, fight well, take heart.  What we do in our prayer closets matters!  What we do in our corporate prayer meetings matters!

One thought, always changes me in regards to this.  'If we didn't pray, how much worse would it be?"  I teach and use catalyst all the time in prayer to rally my heart and mind to fight.  I don't like to lose at all.  And even though I may be losing in this war for the souls of men, I know God is able.  Able at any moment to come and do a work in a few days, that we have been trying to do in 40 years.  I await that moment; I long for that moment;  I pray for that moment.  And some way and some how, in the calls to fast, the calls to pray, the times set aside to prevail, will all be worth it when we look unto Jesus.   I wish I had a better track record.  I wish I didn't have so many failures, faults and defeats.  But it is the war we are called to do, called to pray.  And pray so as to prevail.   I have not attained that yet.  I still have not got to Rex Andrews level yet, 'I pray from 10 PM till 4 or 5 AM; until the burden is lifted."  Pray till the burden is lifted.  Goal to achieve; a goal to obtain; a goal to maintain!

Pray on brethren!   for 'who knows if God will repent and turn behind Him and leave a blessing."  And thus, we call for the Solemn Assembly to prevail, in the midst of all these failures.  One more invite, one more time, one more moment.
