The Activity of God
Going through the Bible, book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse, phrase by phrase and word by word to give attention to the following:
--the Names of God;
--the word & deeds of God;
--the sayings of God;
--the attributes of God;
Too often the churches weakness and the Christians weakness is found in this one sin, 'we do not know God'. We have not studied the Bible, nor Him to learn more of Him. Seeking that this might be a help for myself and others in this pursuit that each of us 'may grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord.
PHILIPPIANS
Chapter 1
Chapter 1
1:1 Paul and Timothy, the servants of Jesus Christ, To all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: Christ servants; God's saints in Christ Jesus; Christ in His saints; God's church positions, bishops and deacons;
1:2 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. God the Father; Christ Name - Lord Jesus Christ; God the Father and Christ give grace and peace;
1:3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, God is thanked;
1:4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, God prayed to for them; God prayed to with request with joy;
1:5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; God's gospel; God's church in fellowship centered around the gospel;
1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ; God begun a good work in His children; I will's of God to perform good work in them; Christ Jesus has a day to bring everything to fruition;
1:7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. 1:8 For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. God records and knows everything, Omniscient; Christ Jesus bowels of love and mercy;
1:9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; God prayed to; Christ church may abound in HIs love; Christ church may have knowledge and judgement in all things;
1:10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; God's children to approve things excellent; Christ church to be sincere and without offence till day of Christ; Christ day;
1:11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. God's church filled with fruits of righteousness in Christ; Christ Jesus fruits of righteousness; God is praised and given glory;
1:12 have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; God's gospel;
1:13 So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; Christ servants have bonds;
1:14 And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. God's servants, the brethren; God's church wax confident; God's servants more bold to speak word; And God said/spoke; God's servants speak the word without fear;
1:15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will; Christ preached; God's servants preach Christ of envy and strife against Paul; God's gospel preached of good will;

1:17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. God's gospel defended; God's gospel preached out of love;
1:18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. Christ is preached, pretence or in truth; God's servants rejoice in God's gospel preached for varying reasons;
1:19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, God's salvation to HIs servants; God prayed to for this; God's Spirit of Jesus Christ supplied;
1:20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. God's servants have expectation and hope in Him; God's servants not ashamed, but bold; Christ to be magnified through His servants body and service; in life or death;
1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Christ to be lived for; Christ servants die to self is gain;
1:23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better. Christ desired to be with through death; Chris to be with is far better;
1:25 for your furtherance and joy of faith; God's children's faith to be joy and continued growing in;
1:26 That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again. Christ Jesus to have rejoicing in through His church and servants;
1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in mine spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; Christ gospel to be their conversation of; Christ servants Paul's spirit to be theirs in Christ and for Christ; Christ's gospel through faith to be striven for;
1:28 And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. God's salvation to His children;
1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on Him, but also to suffer for His sake; Christ gives to His own; Christ to be believed on; Christ to suffer for; Christ sake;
Chapter 2
2:1 IF there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Christ consolations to His children; Christ comfort of love; Christ fellowship in the Spirit for His children; Christ bowels of mercies to His children;
2:2 Christ church to be of same mind and one accord;
2:3 Christ church to esteem each other better than themselves;
2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Christ Jesus mind to be in His children; God's mind;
2:6 Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: God's form; Christ in God; God equal with Father, Son and Spirit; Christ thought not robbery, Christ thoughts;
2:7 But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Christ made Himself of no reputation; Christ made; Christ took upon Himself form of a servant; Christ made in likeness of men; Incarnation;
2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Christ found in fashion as man, Incarnate; Christ humbled Himself; Christ obeyed unto death; Christ died on cross;
2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a Name which is above every Name: God exalts Christ; Christ given Name above every Name; Christ Name above every name;
2:10 That the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; Christ Name, Jesus; Christ Name every knee to bow before Him;
2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Christ Jesus to be confessed by every tongue, that He is Lord; Christ Jesus is Lord; God the Father is gloried by Jesus Christ confessed as Lord;
2:12 work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. God's gift of salvation to be worked out with fear and trembling before Him; the fear of the Lord;
2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. God works salvation in men; I will's of God to do His good pleasure; Please God; God's good pleasure worked out in men;
2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; God's sons; God's children to be blameless and harmless; God's children in midst of nation; God's children as light in world of darkness;
2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that i have not ran in vain, neither laboured in vain. God's word, word of life; And God said/spoke; Christ day to cause us to rejoice in Him;
2:19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state. Christ Jesus trusted in for His kingdom's business;
2:21 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's. Christ Jesus things not sought for;
2:24 But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly. Christ trusted in for what shall be;
2:27 For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. God has mercy on him; God has mercy on Paul;
2:29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation: Christ brethren to receive each other with gladness; God's servants hold in such reputation;
2:30 Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me. Christ work; Christ servants life and death;
Chapter 3
3:1 Finally, my brethren rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe. God to be rejoiced in;
3:2 God's children warned to beware;
3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. God worshipped in spirit; Christ Jesus rejoiced in; God's children have no confidence in flesh, just God;
3:6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church,; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. God's church persecuted; God's righteousness in His law; God's law; God's children to be blameless;
3:7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Christ gained by His servants; Christ servants lose things, to gain Him;
3:8 Yea doubtless, and i count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for Whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ. Christ Jesus knowledge of for His servants is best thing; God's servants lose all else to gain Him; Christ Jesus his Lord; Christ servants will suffer loss of all things; God's servants count all else but dung to win Christ ; Christ to be won by losing everything else;
3:9 And be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is fo God by faith: Christ to be found in; God's righteousness through faith in Christ; God's righteousness by faith;
3:10 That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death; Christ to be known; Christ resurrection power to be known; Christ sufferings to have fellowship with; Christ death conformable upon His servants;
3:11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Christ servants to attain resurrection of dead; Christ is resurrection;
3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Christ's servant not attained, nor perfect yet; Christ's servants follow after Him; Christ servants to apprehend Him; Christ Jesus to be apprehended by followers;
3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. Christ servants forgetting things behind; Christ's servants reaching forth to things before;
3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Christ Jesus is the prize of the high calling; God's calling; Christ servants press toward Him;
3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Christ's servants to be perfect and thus minded; God reveals mind unto us;
3:16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. God's servants to attain; God's servants to walk by same rule; God's servants to mind the same things;
3:17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. God's brethren following together rightly; God's children marked to walk in same example;
3:18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Christ cross; Christ enemies of the cross;
3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) God is a false god if it is their belly;
3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: God's conversation is in heaven; Christ looked for in heaven; Christ Name - Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ; Christ is Saviour of the world;
3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself. Christ shall change our vile bodies; Christ glorious body; God fashions our bodies like His; Christ is able to subdue all things unto Himself; Omnipotent;
Chapter 4
4:1 Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved. God's beloved brethren; Christ's church to stand fast in Him;
4:2 I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. God's children to have same mind in Him; God's mind;
4:3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life. God's church are true yokefellows of His work; God's gospel laboured in; God's fellowlabourers; God's book of life where names are kept of His children;
4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice; God to be rejoiced in;
4:5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. God's return is at hand;
4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. God to brought prayers and supplications with thanksgiving; God to be made known our requests in prayer;
4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. God's peace; God's peace passes all understanding; God's children keep their hearts and minds through Christ Jesus; Christ keeps minds and hearts;
4:9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do; and the God of peace shall be with you. God's peace to be with His children; God's peace; God with them;
4:10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity. God to be rejoiced in;
4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Christ servants can do all things through Him; Christ strengthens His servants; Omnipotent;
4:15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me, as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. God's gospel; God's church; God's servants helped by churches, giving and receiving;
4:17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. God's church and servants to bear fruit;
4:18 But I have all and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. God's servants help each other with acceptable sacrifice and gift; God is wellpleased; Please God;
4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. God supplies all our needs; God's riches in glory by Christ Jesus; Christ Jesus makes way for God's riches to be bestowed on His children; God knows our needs; God in heavenly places;
4:20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. God and Father glory to forever and ever; God is Father; God's glory;
4:21 Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you. Christ Jesus servants to salute each other; Christ's brethren the church; God's church to greet one another;
4:22 All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar's household. God's saints salute each other; God's church of Caesar's household;

COLOSSIANS

1:2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; God is worthy; Please God; God's children to walk worthy of Him; God's children to be fruitful in every good work; God's knowledge to increase in them;
1:11 Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; God able to strengthen with all mighty; God's glorious power; Omnipotent; God's able to give all patience, longsuffering with joy;
1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: God the Father given thanks; God made us to be partakers of inheritance of the saints in light; God's saints; God's inheritance of light;
1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son: God delivers us from power of darkness; God translated us into HIs kingdom; God's Son, Christ; Christ kingdom;
1:14 IN Whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Christ we have redemption through His blood; Christ blood gives us redemption; God gives us forgiveness of sins;
1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: God invisible; Christ image of God; Christ is firstborn of every creature;
1:16 For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: God created all things in heaven and earth; God created all things visible and invisible; God created all things; God created all things for Him;
1:17 And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. God is before all things; God makes all things consist;
1:18 And He is the head of the body, the church: Who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence. Christ is head of the body, the church; Christ's church; Christ is the beginning; Christ is firstborn from dead; Christ resurrected; Christ to have preeminence in all things;
1:19 For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fulness dwell; Please God; God the Father pleased; God the Father in Christ should have all fulness dwell; God's fulness dwell in Christ;
1:20 And having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled. Christ reconciles; God's children were alienated and enemies before reconciliation;
1:22 IN the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight: Christ body and flesh through HIs death; Christ died in the flesh; Christ present us holy, unblameable and unreproveable in His sight; God's sight we are made holy and right before Him;
1:23 If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; Christ servants continue faith, grounded and settled; God's gospel gives hope and moves us not away from Him or His ways; God's gospel heard by speaking; God's gospel preached; God's ministers;
1:24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for HIs body's sake, which is the church: Christ's servants to suffer; Christ afflictions in His servant's flesh; Christ body's sake; Christ church; Christ servants suffer afflictions for His church;
1:25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God; God's ministers; God's dispensation given to HIs ministers; God's word fulfilled; And God said/spoke;
1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to His satins: God's mystery; God's manifest His mystery to His saints; God's saints; God's makes known;
1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: God makes known His riches of HIs glory; God manifests His mystery among Gentiles; Christ in you; Christ is hope of glory;
1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Christ preached; Christ servants warn men; God's ways taught in all wisdom; Christ Jesus to make His servants perfect; Christ followers to be presented faultless;
1:29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to His working, which worketh in me mightily. Christ servants labor and strive; God's working in His children; God's working in His children is mighty;
Chapter 2
2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; God's servants hearts comforted and knit together in love; God's mystery; God's mystery give full assurance; God the Father; Christ Father God;
2:3 In Whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. God has all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge; Christ is hid these things;
2:5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. God's servants with one another; Christ servants stedfast and faithful; Christ servants have stedfast faith in Him;
2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him. Christ Name - Christ Jesus the Lord; Christ is Lord; Christ received as Lord; Christ walked in by His children;
2:7 Rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have ben taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Christ servants rooted and built up in Him; Christ servants stablished in the faith; Christ church taught; God given thanksgiving and abounded in for these things;
2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Christ servants given warning to beware of false teachings; Christ followers to follow after Him;
2:9 For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Christ dwells in Godhead bodily;
God's bodily fulness;
2:10 And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power: Christ completes HIs church; Christ head of all principality and power;
2:11 In Whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Christ circumcision of His children hands; Christ puts off the sins of the flesh committed in the body; Christ circumcision for His church;
2:12 Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, Who hath raised Him from the dead. Christ servants buried with Him in baptism; Christ servants risen with Him through faith; God's operation followed and obeyed by faith of His servants; Christ raised form dead; God raised Christ;
2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He quickened together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Christ quickens His servants together with Him; God quickens; God forgives all trespasses;
2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way nailing it to His cross; Christ cross; God blots out; Christ nailed these things on the cross with Himself;
2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. God spoils principalities and powers; Christ made a show openly in HIs triumph; Christ triumphs over them;
2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: God's holy days; God's sabbath days;
2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. God reveals things to come, Omnipresent; Omniscient; Christ body;
2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, God to be worshipped; God's angels;
2:19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. Christ is the Head; Christ body nourished and ministered to; Christ body knit together; God increases with increase of Himself;
2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, Christ servants dead with world; Christ dead with Him; Christ servants living in the world, Christ servants not to be subject to ordinances;
2:21 (Touch not; taste not,; handle not; Christ church given warning of things of this world - touch, taste and handle not;
Chapter 3
3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Christ servants risen with Him; Christ servants to seek things above; Christ sits ;at the right hand of God; God's right hand; God's throne;
3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. God's servants to set affections on things above, where HE is; Christ servants warned not to seek things on earth;
3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. Christ's servant die to self; Christ's servants alive in Him; Christ in Godhead;
3:4 When Christ, Who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory. Christ is our life; Christ shall appear; Christ's servants shall appear with Him in glory; Christ's glory;
3:5 Christ's servatns and the hcurch to mortify the flesh and the sins thereof;
3:6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: God's wrath; God pour out wrath on children of disobedience;
3:7 IN the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. Christ's servants former life walked and lived in these things;
3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Christ's servants put these sinful things off;
3:9 Christ's servants put these thigns off;
3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him: Christ put on HIs servants the new man; Christ's servants renewed in knowledge and image of Him; Christ image; God created them;
3:11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Christ is all; Christ in all;
3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; God's elect; Christ's servants to put on God's attributes; God's servants to be holy, beloved, bowels of mercies, kind, humbleness of mind, meek, longsuffering;
3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Christ's servant to forbear one another, forgive one another; Christ forgave; Christ's servants to do as HE did;
3:14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. Christ's servants to put on charity, which is perfectness;
3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. God's peace to rule their hearts; God calls; Christ's church one body; God's people to give thanks to Him;
3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And God said/spoke; Christ words dwell in His servants; God's words with all wisdom; God's word to teach and admonish each other; God's words through psalms, hymns and spiritual songs; God's people sing from grace in their hearts unto Him;
3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the the Father by Him. God's children to do in word and deed unto Him; Christ Jesus Name these things to be done; God's given thanks through Christ to Father; God the Father;
3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. God's women to be fit in Him by submitting to husbands;
3:19 Husbands fit in the Lord to love their wives;
3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Christ's servants to obey parents in all things; Please God; God is well pleased by obedience;
3:22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart fearing God; Christ's servants to obey masters; the fear of the Lord; God to be feared with singleness of heart;
3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men. God served heartily; God's children to do all things unto Him;
3:24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. God to reward followers; God's servants to receive inheritance with Him; Christ Jesus served;
3:25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons. God shall judge rightly for those that do wrong; God is no respecter of persons;
Chapter 4
4:1 Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven. Christ is Master; Christ in heaven;
4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; God's servants to continue in prayer unto Him; God prayed to continually; God prayed to in the watch with thanksgiving; God thanked;
4:3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: God prayed to for others in the work; God would open door of utterance for them; Christ mystery spoken and shared; God's servants in bonds unto Him;
4:4 that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. God's mystery of Christ manifest; God's gospel spoken of;
4:5 God's servants to walk in wisdom to them that are without; God's servants to redeem the time;
4:6 God's servants speech to be with grace; God's servants to answer men rightly;
4:7 All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellowservant in the Lord: God's children and church beloved brothers; God's church faithful ministers and fellowservants; God's children in the Lord for His service;
4:9 a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. God's servants faithful and beloved brothers in Christ; Christ church are one together;
4:11 These only are my fellowworkers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me. God's church has fellowworkers; God's kingdom; God's children comfort one another;
4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. Christ servants; Christ servants fervently praying for one another; Christ servants stand perfect and complete in God's will; I will's of God; God's will for His children to stand perfect and complete in Him;
4:13 For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis. God's children great zeal for one another in the work of God; God's churches;
4:15 and the church which is in his house. God's church in houses; God's brethren salute one another;
4:16 And when this epistle is read among you, cause that be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea. God's epistles; And God said/spoke; God's word read in the His churches; God's church;
4:17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfill it. God's servants given ministry; God's servants to take heed to that which they have received of the Lord; God's gives ministry to be received; God's servants to fulfill their task for the Lord's kingdom;
4:18 Grace be with you. Amen. God's grace be with His church;
