THE ACTIVITY OF GOD IN THE BIBLE - I & II TIMOTHY; TITUS; PHILEMON

  The Activity of God

Going through the Bible, book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse, phrase by phrase and word by word to give attention to the following:
--the Names of God;
--the word & deeds of God;
--the sayings of God;
--the attributes of God;

Too often the churches weakness and the Christians weakness is found in this one sin, 'we do not know God'.  We have not studied the Bible, nor Him to learn more of Him.  Seeking that this might be a help for myself and others in this pursuit that each of us 'may grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord.

I TIMOTHY
Chapter 1
1:1      Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;      Christ Name - Jesus Christ, Saviour, Lord Jesus Christ;  God the Saviour and Lord;  Christ is the churches hope;  Christ apostles;  the Lord commands;

1:3      that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,    God's church to be taught no other doctrine;  And God said/spoke;  God's doctrine;  God teaches His church;
1:4      Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith:  so do.    God's church warned to not give heed to fables and endless genealogies;   God's church to be edified in faith; God's church to have faith in Him;
1:5     Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:     God's commandment of charity out of a pure heart, and good conscience;  God's church have faith unfeigned;

1:7      Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.     God's church warned of those that understand not what they say, nor affirm things;
1:8      But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;     God's law is good;  And God said/spoke;
1:9      Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers;      God's law for sinners;  God's righteous men;  God's law declared;

1:14      And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.    God's grace exceeding abundant with faith and love;  Christ Jesus gives faith and love through His grace to His children;
1:15      This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am chief.     And God said/spoke;  Christ came into world;  Christ came to save sinners;  God's word is faithful and worthy of all acceptance;
1:16      Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on Him to life everlasting.       God's mercy obtained;  Christ shows longsuffering;  Christ shows pattern to them which shall believe;  Christ believed on;  Christ gives life everlasting to them which believe on Him;
1:17      Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.     Christ is the King;  Christ is eternal;  Christ is immortal;  Christ is invisible;  Christ is only wise God;  God is wise;  God to receive honor and glory for ever and ever;

1:20       Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.     God's children delivered unto Satan;  God blasphemed;
Chapter 2
2:1      I exhort therefore, that, first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;       God prayed to;  God receives supplications, intercession;  God thanked;  God thanked for all men;
2:2      For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.      God prayed to for kings and those in authority;
2:3       For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;     God our Savior;  God's sight;

2:6       Who gave Himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time.     Christ gave Himself a ransom;  Christ a ransom for all;

2:13       For Adam was first formed, then Eve.     God formed Adam first;  God then formed Eve;
2:14       And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.        God's creation deceived and transgresseth against Him;
2:15       Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.     God's children, women, to continue in faith, charity, holiness with sobriety;
