PRAYER EMAIL - APRIL 21

 Greetings,
"But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory form him."  Daniel 5:20

Twice in Daniel the kings of Babylon are put down because of their pride.  First, under Nebuchadnezzar, he learned humility as God stripped him of reason and made him as the beasts of the field.  But then God restored him and he knew that God was God.  Then comes Belshazzar, who should have known better, but mocked God and they drank and toasted the false gods with the cups from God's temple.  And he is judged by God and these two factors are identified as to why he was judged and removed from the earth:  1.  his heart was lifted up - the great sin of pride;  2.  his mind hardened by pride.  The root of most men's sins is the sin of pride.  And the product of it is found in boastful hearts and alienated minds against God.  

Across our land, there is a continual spirit of repeat of these same sins.  The sin of pride in our nation, in our churches, in our families.  And the sins of men's hearts and minds seared against God and against His will and ways.   God's remedial judgements have been sent for decades, but men's minds and hearts are not humbled, nor repenting towards God.  With these judgements, men have only increased in their evil, and perverse ways.  Minds and hearts are further now from God, and it is easy to see Romans 1 and its meaning, 'I gave them up to reprobate minds'.   But these remedial judgements over the decades have now escalated to EPIDEMIC status.  Escalation from the 1's and 10's, to the 1,000's and 100,000's.   And at the heart of these we can know it is the minds and hearts of men that are contrary to God.   My spiritual warfare in prayer, has prayed more for men's minds and hearts than ever before.

Lesson to be learned:   the church and Christians are often praying for the symptoms of our issues; we prayer for the addictions, mental illness, woke culture, but it is begun in the minds and hearts.  Another lesson to be learned when the church prays after the calamity and tragedy, rather than before it for men's minds and hearts to stop the calamity.  WE do not hear much on  praying against minds and hearts before they commit evil or Satan has his will and way, but we can prevail.  'Greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world.'  After a suicide, we hear the requests, 'pray for them and their family';  But what if we knew today 66 souls were going to commit suicide (US average daily); and we prayed against their minds and hearts being evil affected.  If we prayed to stop them from acting on their mind and heart following their evil desire.  We pray after, but we should learn to pray before.  There is victory in this!        

Herein is our focus of prayer to overcome and be victorious in this battle for the soul of America, and the soul of many of our loved ones.  Minds and hearts are alienated from God.  Pray to that end for what Satan has planted, brought forth and is reaping as a great harvest.  It is the heart that goes after the flesh, the world and lusts.  Men's hearts are wicked and evil, and God knows this, 'the heart is deceitful and desperately wicked'.  Thus, He has made a way to create in men a new heart, to pull them out of the flesh and into His spiritual Presence.  And it is the mind that makes up the will of a man to pursue and indulge in these things.  And only a mind and a heart that is brought back to God in surrender and submission will yield to Him all their days. 

But as much as this devotion is focused on praying for and against evil in men's minds and hearts, know that praying God's mind and heart is much more important.  "Let this mind be in you, which was in Christ Jesus.'   I have heard many pray the petition in corporate prayer meetings, 'give us your heart O God'.  But truly, it is more than a petition, it is daily death to my wicked heart and bearing His holy heart.  God's mind and heart are to be sought and found;  God's mind and heart to be prayed.  Herein is victory and overcoming for God's will and ways.

Pray for men's minds and hearts to be delivered from Satan's hold!  Pray for God's mind and heart to be given to His church!

PRAYER TARGETS:
EPIDMEICS - 
1.  Drugs/Alcohol -  death/dying/destruction;  and they still seek to legalize drugs across the board; 

2.  Children - increase in arrests in teacher/student cases;  continued abuse and neglect; homes destroyed; CA SB 2223 law, matching MD and CO laws to promote and allow infanticide;

3.  LGBT - 

4.  Natural Disasters - still over 1/2 of US in drought;  eastern Africa, reporting great dearth and this summer, great amount of death due to starvation and drought conditions;  

5.  Pestilence - covid cases increasing in US;  US still remains in top 3 of world for deaths, despite numbers dropping;  hearing and seeing more and more of long term affects from covid in so many ways of pregnancies, heart and other issues;

6.  Great Evil -  2 mass murders just this week, 7 for the year;  multiple mass shootings of over 8 throughout April, great increase;  

7.  Economy

 Greetings, "Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;" Colossians 4;2 We are just under one month away from our "100 Hours of Prayer for SBC". We are set to gather as many from SBC life to have a continual spirit of prayer for the work of God to be done in us and through us. The work of God does not come about by the means of men, but by prevailing prayer. Oh, that every SBC church, over 40,000 were to be powerhouses of prayer for the kingdom of God.
