PRAYER EMAIL - MARCH 12

 Greetings,

"Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease:  for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a  very grievous blow."   Jeremiah 14:17

There are 3 things listed that has happened to God's people in this verse:  1.  broken; 2.  great breach; 3.  very grievous blow.   Jeremiah the Lord's prophet, has received the Word of the Lord to do 2 things:  1.  let tears run down night and day; 2.  do not cease.  do we recognize the close parallel of this to our day?  The church is God's people; as Judah in referenced in this verses as God's people.  There is a brokenness upon so many, in the church and out of the church.  Never have I seen so many Christians depressed, discouraged and looking for help.  And what shall we say of our nation?  Broken homes, broken lives, broken way of life, cities and communities broken and shattered.

A great breach has come in among God's people, many that are members of a church, or attend a church.  It is the plight of our day.  Satan has found an inroad.  The ways of the churches today are not aligned with God's will and way.  Holiness, faithfulness and righteousness is very much missing from churches practices and ministries.  As the individual Christian thinks and lives - acceptance of carnal, worldly and compromising, the church reflects this.  And as the church goes, so goes the nation.  A return to holiness, a pursuit of God daily by one and all.  Too many haphazard Christians, too many unholy Christians, too many lukewarm; Remember 'without holiness no man shall see the Lord'; 'Christ said, He would spue out the lukewarm'.  A lack of evidence of truly born again believers within the church, in offices, and in the pulpits.  How can God bless and empower and use His church, when it is filled with dead men's bones?

In my lifetime, I've had personal and one on one conversations with Richard Owen Roberts, and his statement, 'if real revival comes to the church, 90% of membership will truly become born again"; Since then I heard Leonard Ravenhill say it in a sermon; and from that I read where Tozer said it.  Of course, each had been in conversations with each other and picked this up and passed it along.  This very grievous blow and breach is found in a broken path of salvation.  Too many men touching the holy ark of God in the work of regeneration.  Leading them to make 'decisions' and say a prayer; when there was and is no evidence of new creation.  Salvation is not a work of man or men, it is the work of God.  "No man can come to the Father unless the Lord draws him"

Seeing and understanding these breaches, brokenness and grievous blows to the church, should compel the response mentioned in the first half of the verse.  WEEP AND DO NOT CEASE.  One, weep for where we are.  We are in the end times, and here we are getting ready for the greatest event in creation, Christ return, and we are not even ready!   Continue to weep, for it is much our responsibility that these things have happened on our watch.  Granted I believe since the '60 and '70's they were starting, but no doubt, the false doctrines, the false preaching, the false conversions, the false standards and means of the church has greatly increased during the first 20 years of this century.   We knew better, we just didn't do better.  No wonder, that Tozer said, 'We do not need a revival, we need a radical reformation of our day'.  No doubt, revival from God will cause such reformation needed in the midst of such a unholy, carnal, world loving, humanistic church.

Weep; weep night and day; weep without ceasing for where we are and if this revival and reformation does not take place, know that an entire nation will be lost.  Our nation cannot survive where we are currently.  We are closer to Sodom and Gomorrah, rather than Corinth, and definitely far form Ephesus in comparison.  Weep that out of the US population of 330 million, 300 million are without Christ.  Weep that out of almost 8 billion on the planet, 6 billion are without Christ.  The greatest work of God in Christ's atonement and regeneration; the great work of the power and Presence of the Holy Ghost, and we see no more fruit than what we see.  Something is not right, could it be us?  The Lord's ear is not deaf, nor HIs hand withdrawn, but our sins and iniquities have separated us from Him.  All because of how far the church is from God's will and ways.  WEEP.   Joel said weep, howl, and mourn; Jeremiah wrote Lamentations and wept and cried out for what happened, because they would not; are we not there?   Christ wept over the city, 'for they would not'.  are we not there?

Do you have any tears?  See, understand and know our plight.  May God grant grace and mercy for the tears that we sow.
