PRAYER EMAIL - FEB. 5

 Greetings,

"Till there was no remedy."   II Chronicles 36:16

For 22 years in this century, we have watched the remedial judgements of God upon our nation, cities, churches and homes.  Great amount of record setting, historic and in some cases, cataclysmic moments of God's wrath.  These remedial judgements are sent to call the people back to God.  As in II Chronicles 7, the promise of 7:14 is from God's judgements upon the nation and land in 7:13, that should cause the people to seek the Lord, call upon Him and return to Him and His ways.   At this same time, of trying to understand the judgements of God, we have see the increase of evil and wickedness in our nation and the luke-warm attitude of the church.  Many have assumed and warned in this great fear that we are approaching the end.  The end of opportunity to return to God.

For there does come a day, for final judgement, a day of no return.  That day, defined in Scripture, with multiple titles, 'day of the Lord'; 'day of visitation'.  And then there is this day found in our Scripture above, 'till there was no remedy'.  A verse that horrifies me continually for the ramifications of it.  Knowing that day is approaching us, for all that we have done in the last 50 years against God.  Where God, just as He did to Judah and Jerusalem, says, 'there is no more time'  God has determined that He will bring forth destruction upon the people, the cities and land.  If He did it to Judah and Jerusalem and HIs people, how much more to our land, cities and the church.

I often address this reality for the church.  For the church has a greater accountability, for we should know better.  But alas, we have not done better.  The church ceasing to be a house of prayer; prayer lives abandoning the secret closet, are the causes of evil advancing on our watch, and in these last 22 years.  Only a prevailing spirit with God in prayer and through prayer, would reverse the evil of our day.  For God can do more in moments, for what we have been seeking to do in decades.  Revival history is the witness and testimony of this truth.  We don't find many that understand this, or seek this.  Humanism continues to be the main objective and priority of the church.  But prayer is the means of reversing this tragic statement, 'till there was no remedy.'

And when this statement was made in II Chronicles 36, the Lord did not usher this in for another 20 years, 2 decades.  Still sending prophet, like Jeremiah, to warn and beseech them to humble themselves.  But they would not.  My thoughts and wandering is that with our failure in prayer, has God already pronounced this same decree, and we are on count down?   Will there be a moment of blessings before the judgement?  And yes, this is my perception.  God will and is beginning a moment of awakening for lost souls, a glimmer of hope for emphasis on prayer throughout the churches?  I don't know whether it will be revival, but at least the remnant returning to true holiness.   And I am resolved until that day comes, that there is a moment that can be seized with God through powerful, prevailing prayer, that can do God's wonders among His church, and the lost.

Till there was no remedy - it is not if this day is coming, its just when this day comes.  It is a certainty.  And not just for final judgements of Revelation; or great white throne judgement seat.  But upon our nation, upon the churches for their casual approach to life, sin, eternity and God.  How easy going we are while masses exit into hell fire.  No desperation hardly at all!

Till there was no remedy - that day will set back all our advances, freedoms, technological advances.  We will know want, need, help like never before.  Upon which, our grandparents made it and survived the depression, Spanish flu, world wars;  but this generation scares me for not being ready to do and live without.

Till there was no remedy - such a cataclysmic event that will force the church to return rightly with God; but alas, it will be too late for the millions we were supposed to be preparing for this moment in time.  And as we have already beheld, in the epidemics where millions have already gone out into eternal hell fire.  Never more with time or opportunity to reach the lost.  We essentially let them go, without a prayer, without an invite, without a tear.  Much will we have to answer for on judgement day.

Time is definitely an issue for the church today.  Many have forgotten this in their selfishness and unmoved hearts for ease.  For under the 'refuge of lies' which makes men think they have plenty of time.  But our time is limited as well.  Not only our days of life and service.  But the time to be able to reach men with Gospel in power from prayer to see them truly born again.  And time before judgement comes, that removes all our opportunities, 'for the night comes, when no man can work.'  It is much on my mind, and should be all of ours - 'how close are we to 'till there was no remedy'?
