100 HOURS OF PRAYER - 2021

"And it came to pass when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind. . . And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lord hath sent me. . . And Elisha said unto him, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. . . And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I prayer. . . . And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee here. . . Ask what I shall do for thee before I be taken away from thee.   And Elisha said, Pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me."  II Kings 2:1 - 14

It is mind blowing that the prophet Elijah, asks of Elisha to tarry here, to wait.  Three times, in 3 different places he bids him tarry behind.  And all 3 times, Elisha refuses, knowing that this was the day and the time that Elijah must be carried away from the earth.  If he tarried in any of these places, he would miss what was about to happen.  And upon the last time he was asked to tarry, they crossed the Jordan, in miraculous fashion on dry ground.  And Elijah turns to Elisha and said, 'ask what you will'.  Elisha asks the great petition, 'I want a double spirit upon me, that was upon you.'   And he saw Elijah carried away in the chariot and his request was granted.   The Spirit of God in power was upon him.  And it is said that Elijah did 8 miracles; and with the double blessing upon him, Elisha did 16 miracles.  And all because he did not tarry and stay behind.  For had he tarried, he would have missed the blessing.

I wonder how much, over this last year, we have tarried and missed the blessing of the Lord.   How many times Satan, or our flesh, or the world called and bid us tarry behind.  And we did, and we missed what God had for us in blessing and growth and edification.  We gave time and place and energy to the things of this world, and missed the things of eternity.  Oh, that we would know the warning found throughout Scripture, 'Take heed' to the horrible consequences of tarrying behind.    and may we be more given to eternal things that we not miss such moments.  In the first verse, they were eternally minded, knowing that God was getting ready to remove Elijah from the earth.  And in verse 9 they were more eternally minded for Elisha of what he would need after Elijah was gone.  And he asked for the double portion.  

No revival, or outpouring ever happened to one who tarried behind.  The Canadian Revival in 1970 saw an outpouring upon every church and pastor that joined the prayer times.  And the churches and pastors that did not pray and join them, had no recorded salvation, addition or growth, because they tarried behind.  But those that enter in, and go forward where God is leading, leads them to Him.  Jesus asked the disciples to tarry behind, while He entered the greatest battle ever over His surrender to what was getting ready to happen.  They slept, because they tarried behind.  But had they known the burden that Christ bore; had they seen the drops of blood from His brow, being His friends, there is no way that they would have tarried behind and slept.   Are we not asked in this most crucial hour of our nation and history to enter in?  Why would we tarry behind then?

And can we not see the handwriting on the wall and know the hour and day we are in?  Can we tarry in selfish, earthly things, while a world perishes and the kingdom languishes here and the church remains powerless without the fullness of the Spirit?   Let us rise up and enter in; for everything is at stake right now.  And I for one, and many of you, do not want to miss out on a double portion of blessing from heaven.  Everything is gearing up for the end of days and hours.  The 'beginning of sorrows' we have left and are entering into the tribulation that we are already seeing things that have never happened before to fulfill all Scripture.  Oh, what a time to be born and serve Him and know Him.  Brethren, seek the Lord while He may be found.  Tarry not behind!


PRAYER CONFERENCE - JANUARY 14 - 16
Carter Conlon and Doug Small will be coming to Keyser to spend 2 full days with us to lead us in prayer for the churches, kingdom prayers and our community schools, families and lost souls;  We will have a flyer and info for you to share and pray over as we get ready for this time of prayer!

Next Week:  100 Hours of Prayer Begins!!   Some have already asked for prayer targets and helps so that we  might be praying more in agreement.  I will have a prayer email before Dec. 28 to cover our focus of prayer during this 100 Hours of Prayer.  It is much more about the Kingdom and the spiritual and eternity than the physical, and carnal.  We still have 50 hours to cover.  Please let me know what day(s); what hour(s), am/pm or both; and how long you will be praying - 15 min/30 min/60 min  Thank you!

EPIDEMICS
1.  Drugs/Alcohol - Incredible death rate has hit US.  Drug deaths is a huge part of that.  But also is covid and other factors, that caused our US life expectancy to drop 2 years.  All states; all counties; all cities; and almost every family, church impacted by this.   Death and dying - 10th plague of Egypt

2.  Children - continued reports of teach/student crimes; home neglect/abuse; young girls due to home life increasing suicide rates;  To reach the next generation that is all but agnostic in their beliefs of God;

3.  LGBT - laws/court cases/societies acceptance/church acceptance;  Romans 1 of God's judgement for this abomination that He gives minds over to reprobate minds.  Evil impact that now a foundation has been laid, and what that will mean to next generation.

4.  Natural Disasters -  continued recovery of KY and other states impacted by storms, death and destruction of property;  How many will have no home, or Christmas because of loss of all.  Two 7.0 earthquake in last weeks - Indonesia and Peru.  18 for the year thus far, an increase, as we average one per month.   Dust bowl storm in Mid-West last week.  Typhoon in Philippines.  Continued volcanic activity.

5.  Plagues -  covid spike and increase in cases and death with omicron;  influenza increase; 

6.  Great Evil -   Things so far this month have been by far the best in recent months and years.  Greatly decrease in all stats.  Not a time to let up but persevere for complete turn around on death and dying.

7.  Economy - 

UPDATE:
--bible readings for 2nd time this year to finish up at end of year; #56; 
--#57 is The Activity of God which went really slow through Gospels and first part of Act; but now in last chapters of Acts and flying;  about 150 pages to go, look to finish next year, Lord allowing;
--word study is the fear of the Lord; just about have all marked; will write out later for prayer notebook;
--A Word Blog - continue to start one verse per day; will look to up to 2 per day next year;  in Jeremiah 12; chapter 11 only 1/3 finished completely; 
--Thursday Hour of Prayer - last broadcast for year is 12/23;
--Monday Bible study - up through John chapter 13;
--services for Keyser church and Fox's Hollow church continue to be in person and live stream;
--Sunday night prayer with pastors continues and we jsut did our last one for the year;

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
