100 HOURS OF PRAYER - DEC. 28 - JAN. 1 - PRAYER TARGETS & HELPS

 Greetings,

Several have asked about praying during these 100 Hours of Prayer, if there is a theme or suggestions to pray over and through.  As I always do for these extended prayer times, I am grateful for those that jump in and help fill the time slots.  But we do want to build an agreement in prayer over certain prayer targets and God's agenda and will.  So here is a suggestion to consider when you enter in to your prayer time. 

Over the last 18 months, we have spent Thursday night doing, "Hour of  Prayer".  IN which we have covered Bible verses, and prayer targets to cover a whole hour in prayer.  The hour we divided into 3, 20 minute sections.  Worship - Confession - Petition

1.  Worship
Bible verses describing the Names of God; the attributes of God and the works and deeds of God; we also learned to sit in silence and wait upon the Lord for moments before we start to speak His praise, glory and honor;

2.  Confession
4 areas of confession of sins - Nation; Church; Family and Individual;  Numerous areas of Scripture that we have covered where the Bible specifically names the sin committed against God and His will and ways;  Those things done against Him, and those things not done, 'you ought not to have left these things undone'.    Recognize and see wherein the failure and offence is and confess it.  "Who knows if the Lord will turn and repent and leave a blessing behind Him"

3.  Petition/Supplication/Intercession
Numerous prayer targets to bring before the Lord, generally on behalf of others, not ourselves.  But during this prayer time, I believe it to be necessary for all of us to examine ourselves and see what the Lord is saying, 'he that hath ears let him hear what the Spirit is saying'. And to listen to see what the Lord may be desiring of us to do for the new year.   

Prayer Targets:  lost souls; church - great need for revival, restoration of holiness, dismissal and removal of carnality, lukewarmness, flesh, traditions of men and hells pleasure.   Seek a greater outpouring for God's people for the urgency of the times for the new year.  Missions, spread of the Word, translations, missionaries sent to the 3 billion unreached are a few of these means.  

War against evil and fight the spiritual warfare.   Take captive thoughts, intents of heart and overcome for victory in the places we are seeing hell advance on men.   Drugs & alcohol - addictions; evil of homicides, suicides and murder-suicides and great amount of record setting death.  Plague of covid, that has ravished and continues to bring death world wide.  God sends plagues, and there is the remedy for reversal and ending of this death.  Hell advances in nations, families, and on our streets and in the homes; pray for great awakening where the lost are saved and hell is put on retreat.  Next generation of preachers, teachers, servants, intercessors and missionaries to go forth and finish the task.  And not forgetting, 'here am I, send me'. Bring the church before the Lord, for His bride to be what He wants.  May we be refined before the end comes, and a bride prepared as He would have.     

These are few suggestions to cover over time period.  And more than enough to aid, several times a day to pray.   Consider it.

Thank you to each of you that have stepped up and taken a slot to pray, for this most needful and pressing hour before we start the new year.  The church must be earnest, fervent and urgent in its need to be Spirit-filled.   We cannot continue to operate in the flesh and expect supernatural moments.  Seek the Lord, and you shall find Him.

100 HOURS OF PRAYER - DEC. 2023

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
