PRAYER EMAIL - OCTOBER 23

 Greetings,
"Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry unto the Lord, Alas for the day!  for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come."   Joel 1:14 - 15

It is a alarming to see all that is happening.  It is overwhelming to see the handwriting on the wall from the Lord in regards to our nation, future and the church.  Yet, unlike the King of Babylon, who trembled and feared at the hand of God writing on that wall, there is little fear and trembling before God for what is happening and what is about to happen.  Even the Egyptians cried out as they crossed the Red Sea and said, 'The Lord fights for them and against us", as the chariots wheels God was causing to fall off.    Watching and beholding the Lord move against our nation, against the church (let judgement begin at the house of God) and against our families is horrifying.  Death and dying happening in numbers and ways that is consuming young and old.  Every family being affected with these evils that I have longed set before you, in EPIDEMIC causes.  

Cases of death in large numbers in covid, suicides, drug overdoses and murders.  Every family will soon have a testimony of each of these within their immediate family.   Largely 90% dying are without Christ; no wonder Isaiah stated, 'hell hath enlarged itself for the multitude coming therein.'   This is not what the Lord's desire is:  "I would that none would perish. . . I would that none would go away from Me"  Therefore, let us seek the Lord's will and ways for salvation, deliverance and His Divine Presence. Seeing these are the current conditions, the church is called to respond.

Our response as been encouraging in some ways.  Numerous gatherings, calls, solemn assemblies, fasts set into motion.  Rejoicing in all this.  Yet, we do these things, without a spirit of prevailing.  It is believed that as these conditions continue, the cry from God's people is to continue until the Spirit breaks through.    It is not one and done.  There should be the full assurance from before God's throne, that God speaks, 'I have heard your prayer, seen your tears, and know your heart cry.  And I will grant you the desire of My glory and kingdom."   Too many that pray, pray without seeking such a response.  Or worse, content without a response from the Lord.  We are out of time, and never has our greatest need been upon us for our very existence and future.  

Now perhaps some are willing to just continue, with that focus, 'whatever will be, will be'.  But I am not like that.  I am not content, nor willing to stay at status quo with so much at stake.  My resolve is to prevail for this hour we are in.  My desire is to see prayer a priority and passion in the prayers of God's people for what is happening and what is getting ready to happen.   God has birthed that same passion to seek Him and hear from Him as well.  Thus, God is calling us to 70 straight hours of prayer.  No doubt, He is desiring to speak, 'He that has ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying.'   There is such an urgency for this time of prayer.  Perhaps again, 'before God gets ready to do something, He sets His people prayer.'   

Fast, solemn assemblies, gatherings and crying unto and before the Lord.  Brethren, pray for this time of prayer; pray for those that will join and those that need to join; and pray for God to speak again to us for this hour.   And bring forth those things of the spiritual, heavenly kingdom to pray for His glory and honor.   May God meet us in this time.  

70 HOURS OF PRAYER
The need is so great right now, for what is happening and what is about to happen.  The Lord is calling us to seek Him for such a time as this.   Oct. 29 - Nov. 1
Asking for you and other prayer partners to join in and help us fill the slots.  Asking of you to pray what your are able for these needs that I have just presented.  Time slots of 15 minutes, 30 minutes or an hour.
Focus of prayer should be on these spiritual issues at hand and the hope of revival and spiritual awakening in God's Spirit.  Looking for victory and overcoming in His might.  Pray so as to prevail.

PRAYER TARGETS:

EPIDEMICS
1.  Drugs/Alcohol

2.  Natural Disasters - 2 major volcanic eruptions;  whole state of CA now in extreme drought conditions and need for water to sustain;

3.  Children - 

4.  LGBT -   largely this destruction of death and dying on our nation is due to this abomination that is being more and more embraced, legalized and accepted.  Even within the church, as several key denominations have divided to accept this evil.  I lament when I hear of young people in Baptist youth groups practicing this and being a part of it.  

5.   Great Evil - I thought we might make it through October without a mass murder, but within the last 2 days, we have had as many mass murders;  staggering what is happening here with little response for how many souls are being exited out into eternity;  Suicides are off the charts as minds and hearts are evil affected;

6.  Pestilence - covid death world wide getting ready to hit 5 million; 

7.  Economy - continued inflation on prices; continued and more and more shortages;  more and more workers being fired or walking around covid mandates;  all of these coupled togeher will come together to produce an utter collapse;

100 HOURS OF PRAYER - DEC. 2023

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
