THE ACTIVITY OF GOD IN THE BIBLE - JOHN - CHAPTER 8 - 14 PART II

 The Activity of God

Going through the Bible, book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse, phrase by phrase and word by word to give attention to the following:
--the Names of God;
--the word & deeds of God;
--the sayings of God;
--the attributes of God;

Too often the churches weakness and the Christians weakness is found in this one sin, 'we do not know God'.  We have not studied the Bible, nor Him to learn more of Him.  Seeking that this might be a help for myself and others in this pursuit that each of us 'may grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord.

JOHN
Chapter 8
8:1       Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.      Christ went to mount;
8:2     And early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came unto Him; and HE sat down, and taught them.    Christ comes into temple;  Christ come to by all the people; Christ sits down;  Christ teaches them;
8:3       And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto Him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,     Christ brought a woman taken in adultery;
8:4      They say unto Him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.      Christ spoke to; Christ Name - Master;
8:5      but what sayest Thou?     Christ asked question what He says regarding her adultery;
8:6      This they said, tempting Him, that they might have to accuse Him.   But Jesus stooped down, and with His finger wrote on the ground, as though He heard them not.      Christ tempted;  Christ sought to be accused;  Christ stoops down;  Christ finger writes on the ground;  Christ acts as He hears them not;
8:7       So when they continued asking Him, He lifted up Himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.      Christ continued asked this question;  Christ lifts Himself up;  And God said/spoke;   Christ declares to them, that he that is without sin, cast first;
8:8       And again He stooped down, and wrote on the ground.     Christ stoops down;  Christ writes on the ground;
8:9      And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last:  and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.      Christ words heard;  Christ left alone with her;
8:10       When Jesus had lifted up Himself, and saw none, but the woman, He said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers?  hath no man condemned thee?     Christ asks a question (2); And God said/spoke;   Christ lifts Himself up;  Christ sees none, but the woman there;
8:11      She said, No man, Lord.   And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee:  go, and sin no more.      Christ answered;  And God said/spoke;   Christ declares He condemns her not;  Christ directs her to go and sin no more;
8:12       Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: hje that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.      And God said/spoke;   Christ declares Himself that He is the light of the world;   Christ followed they shall not walk in darkness, but have light of life;
8:13       The Pharisees therefore said unto Him, Thou bearest record of Thyself; Thy record is not true.       Christ addressed by Pharisees;   Christ accused that His record is not true of Himself;
8:14       Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of Myself, yet My record is true:   for I know whence I come, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.      Christ answers them;  And God said/spoke;    Christ bears record of Himself;  Christ record is true;  Christ knows whence came and whither He goes;   Christ declares to them, that they know not whence He came and whither He goes;
8:15      Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.     Christ judges no man;
8:16     And yet if I judge, My judgment is true:  for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent ME.      Christ judges;  Christ judgement is true;  Christ not alone;  Christ and God the Father are one;  God the Father sent Him;
8:17    Christ quotes Scripture;
8:18      I am one that bear witness of Myself, and the FAther that sent Me beareth witness of Me.      Christ bears witness of Himself;  God the Father bears witness also with Christ, two witnesses; God the Father sent Him;
8:19      Then said they unto Him, Where is Thy Father?  Jesus answered, Ye neither know Me, nor My Father:  if ye had known Me, ye should have known  My Father also.      Christ asked question; God the Father enquired where He was;  And God said/spoke;  Christ answers them;  Christ declares they know Him not, they know not the Father; God the FAther and Christ the Son not known;  Christ teaches that if they know Him, God the Father is also known;
8:20       These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as He taught in the temple:  and no man laid hans on Him; for His hour was not yet come.     And God said/spoke;   Christ speak in treasury;  Christ teaches in temple;  Christ laid not hands on;  Christ hour was not yet come;
8:21      Then said Jesus again unto them, I go My way, and ye shall seek Me, and shall die in your sins whither I go, ye cannot come.     And God said/spoke;   Christ declares that He goes His way;  Christ way;  Christ sought but they cannot come;  Christ shall go but they shall not be able to come unto HIm;
8:22       Then said the Jews, Will He kill Himself?  because He saith Whither I go, ye cannot come.     Christ questioned of HIs statement;  Christ accused of maybe killing HImself;  And God said/spoke;  Christ shall go, but they shall not be able to come;
8:23       And He said unto them, Ye are from beneath:  I am from above:  ye are of this world; I am not of this world.     And God said/spoke;    Christ from above;  Christ not of this world;
8:24       I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins:  for if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.      And God said/spoke;   Christ not believe in, they shall die in their sins;
8:25      Then said they unto Him, Who art Thou?  And Jesus saith unto them, Even, the same that I said unto you from the beginning.     Christ asked Who He was;  And God said/spoke;   Christ declared Who He was from the beginning;
8:26       I have many things to say and to judge of you:  but He that sent Me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of Him.      And God said/spoke (2);    Christ speak and judges of them;  God the Father sent Him;  Christ heard His Father;
8:27      They understood not that He spake to them of the Father.    And God said/spoke;  God the Father spoke of by Christ;  Christ words not understood by them;
8:28      Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but, as My Father hath taught Me, I speak these things.      And God said/spoke;    Christ Name - Son of man;  Christ lifted up;  Christ known for Who He is; Christ does nothing of Himself;  God the Father taught Christ;  Christ speaks and declares these things;
8:29       And HE that sent Me is with Me:  the Father hath not left Me alone; for I do always those things that please Him.       God the Father sent Christ;  God the Father with Christ;  God the Father hath not left Christ alone; Christ always does those things that please God the Father;  Please God;
8:30       As He spake these words, many believed on Him.     And God said/spoke;   Christ believed on;
8:31       Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If ye continue in My Word, then are ye My disciples indeed;      And God said/spoke;    Christ believe on;  Christ Word to be continued in;  Christ disciples indeed;
8:32     Christ Word is truth;  Christ truth known and make them free;
8:33      They answered Him,; We be Abraha's seed, and were never in bondage to any man:  how sayest Thou, Ye shall be made free?      Christ answered;  Christ questioned;
8:34       Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.     And God said/spoke (2);   Christ answered;    Christ teaches them those that commit are servants to sin;
8:35      but the Son abideth ever.     Christ the Son abides for ever;
8:36      If the Son therefore shall make you free; ye shall be free indeed.    Christ the Son make them free, free indeed;
8:37      I know that ye are Abraham's seed:  but ye seek to kill Me, because My word hath no place in you.      Christ knows;   Christ sought to be killed by them;  Christ word abides not in them;  And God said/spoke;
8:38      I speak that which I have seen with My Father:  and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.      And God said/spoke;    Christ speaks what He has seen Father do;  God the Father seen and spoken of by Christ;  Christ declares they do that which their father the devil hath done;
8:39       They answered and said unto Him, Abraham is our father.  Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.     Christ answered and spoke to;  And God said/spoke;   Christ corrects them about being Abraham's children;
8:40      But now ye seek to kill Me: a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God:  this did not Abraham.      Christ sought to be killed by them;   Christ told them the truth;  And God said/spoke;   Christ heard God the Father speak and tells them;
8:41      Ye do the deeds of your father.  Then said they to Him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.      Christ reprimands them again about doing deeds of their father the devil;   Christ spoke to; God the Father they declared was their Father and God;
8:42       Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love Me:  for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of Myself, but HE sent Me.      And God said/spoke;   God the Father is not their God, or they would love Christ;   Christ to be loved;  Christ proceeded forth and came form God;  Christ did not come of Himself;  God the Father sent Him;
8:43        Why do ye not understand My speech?  even because ye cannot hear My word.      Christ asks them a question;  Christ answers the question;  Christ speech not heard or understood by them;  And God said/spoke;
8:44      Christ condemns them that they are of their father the devil;  Christ reveals and declares things about Satan;
8:45      And because I tell you the truth, ye believe Me not.      And God said/spoke;   Christ tells them truth;  Christ believed not;
8:46       Which of you convinceth Me of sin?  And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe Me?      Christ asks a question (2);   Christ not convinced of sin;   Christ says the truth; And God said/spoke;   Christ not believed in;
8:47       He that is of God heareth God's words:  ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.    God's word heard by God's people;   And God said/spoke;   God not heard by those that are not of God;
8:48    Christ accused of having a devil;  Christ asked a question;
8:49       Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour My Father, ye do dishonour  Me.      Christ answers them;   And God said/spoke;   Christ refutes their statement, that He has not a devil;  God' the Father honoured;  Christ dishonoured;
8:50        And I seek not Mine Own glory:  there is One that seeketh and judgeth.      Christ seeks not His Own glory;   God seeks and judges;
8:51         Verily, verily, I say unto you, if a man keep My saying, he shall never see death.      And God said/spoke;    Christ sayings kept, then they shall not see death;
8:52       Then said the Jews unto Him, Now we know that Thou hast a devil.  Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and Thou sayest, If a man keep My saying, he shall never taste of death.      Christ accused of having a devil; And God said/spoke;   Christ saying kept, they shall never see death; Christ accused of lying;
8:53       Art Thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead?  and the prophets are dead:   Whom makest Thou Thyself?       Christ greater than Abraham; Christ questioned on Who He was and Whom He made Himself;
8:54        Jesus answered, IF a I honour Myself, My honour is nothing; it is My Father that honoureth Me, of Whom ye say, that He is your God.      And God said/spoke;   Christ answers there accusations;  Christ does not honor Himself;   God the Father honors Christ;   God claimed by them to be theirs';
8:55       YEt ye have not known Him; but I know Him:  and if I should say, I know Him not, I shall be a liar like unto you:  but I know HIm, and keep His saying.       Christ declares they know not the Father;  Christ knows Him;    And God said/spoke;    Christ cannot say that He knows Him not; Christ knows Him and keeps God's saying;
8:56       Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it, and was glad.      Christ reveals that Abraham rejoiced to see His day;  Christ day;
8:57    Christ questioned on seeing Abraham;
8:58       Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.      And God said/spoke (2);   Christ declares that He was before Abraham;  Christ is;
8:59       Then took they up stones to cast at Him:  but Jesus hid Himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.      Christ sought to be stoned by them; Christ hides Himself;   Christ went out of temple;  Christ went through midst of crowd;  Christ passed through;
Chapter 9
9:1       And as Jesus passed by, He saw a man which was blind from his birth.     Christ passes by;  Christ sees blind man;
9:2      And His disciples asked Him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?      Christ disciples asked Christ question;  Christ Name - Master;  Christ asked if sin caused this man's blindness;
9:3       Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned; nor his parents:  but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.     Christ answers them;  Christ declares that sin did not cause this;  Christ declares that this is for the God's works to be manifested;  God's works manifest;
9:4       I must work the works of Him that sent Me, while it is day:  the night cometh, when no man can work.      Christ must work God the Fathers works while it is day;  God the Father sent Christ;   Christ declares the night comes and no man can work;
9:5       As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.      Christ in the world;  Christ is the light of the world;
9:6       When He had thus spoken, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay.      And God said/spoke;    Christ spits on the ground;  Christ makes clay of spittle;  Christ anoints the eyes of blind man;
9:7        And said unto him, Go wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.)   He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.      And God said/spoke;   Christ instructs him to go and wash in pool of Siloam;    Christ obeyed;  Christ heals blind man;
9:11       He answered, and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine yes, and siad unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash:  and I went and washed, and I received sight.      Christ, a man called Jesus;   Christ made clay;  Christ anointed his eyes;  Christ gave him instruction to go and wash;   Christ obeyed;  Christ heals man;
9:12    Then said they unto him, Where is He?  He said, I know not.    Christ sought;  Christ not known where He is;
9:14       And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.      Christ made clay and opened his eyes on sabbath;
9:15        He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.      Christ put clay upon his eyes;  Christ heals him;
9:16       Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because He keepeth not the sabbath day.   Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles?  And there was a division among them.       Christ claimed by them to not be of God; Christ accused of not keeping the sabbath day;    Christ questioned by them, if HE was as sinner how could He do such miracles;
9:17        They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of Him, that He hath opened thine eyes?  He said, He is a prophet.      Christ asked after and of;  Christ opened his eyes;   Christ claimed by man to be a prophet;
9:18       But the Jews did not believe concerning Him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.       Christ not believed in;
9:22         There words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews:  for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man  did confess that He was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.      Christ confess that He was Christ;
9:24       Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise:  we know that this man is a sinner.      God to be praised for healing;   Christ called a sinner by rulers;
9:25       He answered and said, Whether He be a sinner or no, I know not:  one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.      Christ a sinner not answered by man;  Christ healed his blindness he does know;
9:26    Christ actions questioned again by them;
9:27        He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear:  wherefore would ye hear it again?  will ye also be HIs disciples?      Christ healing they would not hear form him;  Christ disciples;
9:28      Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art His disciple; but we are Moses' disciples.      Christ disciple he confesses to be;
9:29      We know that God spake unto Moses:  as for this fellow, we know not from whence He is.    God spoke to Moses;  Christ called Fellow; Christ not known from when He was;
9:30      The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye known not from whence He is, and yet He hath opened mine eyes.      Christ healing a marvellous thing;  Christ not known from whence He is;  Christ opened his eyes;
9:31      Now we know that God hearest not sinners:  but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth His will, Him he heareth.       God does not hear sinners;   God is worshipped;  I will's of God to be done; God hears him;
9:32     God's testimony not heard of opening the eyes of the blind;
9:33       If this Man were not of God, HE could do nothing.       God's Man, Christ; Christ could do nothing if not of God;
9:35        Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said unto him, Dost Thou believe on the Son of God?      Christ hears about the man being cast out;  Christ find him;  And God said/spoke;    Christ asks him a question;   Christ, the Son of God believed on;
9:36       He answered and said, Who is He, Lord, that I might believe on Him?     Christ answered;   Christ asked a question;  Christ Name - Lord;  Christ to be believed on;
9:37       And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen Him, and it is HE that talketh with thee.      And God said/spoke;     Christ seen;  Christ talking with him;
9:38        And he said, Lord, I believe.  And he worshipped Him.       Christ professed, believed on/in;   Christ worshipped;
9:39      And Jesus said, For judgement I am come into this world, that they which see not might see:  and that they which see might be made blind.       And God said/spoke;     Christ came for judgement;  Christ declares those that see not might see, and those that see be made blind;
9:40       And some of the Pharisees which were with Him heard these words, and said unto Him, Are we blind also?       Christ was with;  Christ words heard;  Christ asked a question regarding their blindness;
9:41        Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin:  but now, ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.       And God said/spoke;    Christ declares to them if they were blind, they would have no sin; Christ rebukes them, that they declare they can see, therefore their sin remains;
Chapter 10
10:1       Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.      And God said/spoke;    Christ declares the truth that he that enters not by the door is a thief and a robber;
10:2     But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.      Christ is the door;  Christ way is to be entered;  Christ is the shepherd of the sheep;
10:3      To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear His voice:  and He calleth His Own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.      God is the porter and open to His sheep;  God's voice heard and the sheep hear and obey;  God calls His Own sheep by name;  God leads them out;
10:4      And when He putteth forth His Own sheep, He goeth before them, and the sheep follow Him:  for they know His voice.      God puts His Own sheep out;  God goes before them;  God is followed;  God's sheep knows His voice;
10:5      And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him:  for they know not the voice of strangers.      God's sheep will not follow strange voice and will flee from them;
10:6        This parable spake Jesus unto them:  but they understood not what things they were which He spake unto them.      And God said/spoke (2);   Christ teaches them parable of Good Shepherd;   Christ words not understood;
10:7       Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.     And God said/spoke;    Christ is the door of the sheep;
10:8       All that ever came before Me are thieves and robbers:  but the sheep did not hear them.     Christ declares all those that came before Him were false, and HIs sheep did not hear them;
10:9       I am the door:  by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.      Christ is the door; Christ way to be enter by and be saved;  Christ sheep shall go in and out and find pasture;
10:10        The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:  I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.      Christ reveals Satans ways;   Christ is come to give life, Christ promises them more abundant life;
10:11       I am the good shepherd:  the good shepherd giveth His life for the sheep.      Christ is Good Shepherd; Christ gives HIs life for the sheep;   Christ life given;
10:12 - 13   Christ warns against false shepherds and hirelings;
10:14       I am the good shepherd and know My sheep, and am known of Mine.      Christ is the Good Shepherd;  Christ sheep He knows;  Christ sheep know Him;
10:15      As the Father knoweth Me, even so know I the Father and I lay down My life for the sheep.      God the Father knows Christ; Christ knows the Father;  Christ lays down His life for the sheep;  Christ life given;
10:16       And the other sheep I have, which are not of  this fold:  them also I must bring, and they shall hear My voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.     Christ has other sheep, not of the Jews, but Gentiles; Christ must bring them;  Christ voice heard; Christ is the Shepherd;  Christ has one fold, and He is the One Shepherd;
10:17        Therefore doth My Father love Me, because I lay down My life, that I might take it again.      God the Father love Christ;  Christ lays His life down;   Christ life given; Christ take His life again unto Himself;  God loves Christ for laying downing His life for the sheep;
10:18       No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself, I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.   this commandment have I received of My Father.     Christ life taken by no man;  Christ lays His life down of His Own self;   Christ power ot lay it down;  Christ power to take it again;  Omnipotent;   the Lord commanded;   God the Father commanded Christ;   Christ receives command form the Father;
10:19       There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.     And God said/spoke;  Christ words causes division;
10:20       And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye Him?     Christ accused of having a devil, blasphemy and heresy;  Christ questioned to not be heard by these wicked men;
10:21        Others said, These are not the words of Him that hath a devil.   Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?      And God said/spoke;   Christ words not of one that has a devil, they said;
10:23        And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.     Christ walks in temple;
10:24       Then came the Jews round about Him, and said unto Him, How long dost Thou make us to doubt?  If Thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.       Christ surrounded by Jews;  Christ questioned;   Christ accused of causing them to doubt;   Christ asked to plainly tell them if He be the Christ;
10:25         Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not:  the works that I do in My Father's Name, they bear witness of Me.      Chrsit answers them;   And God said/spoke;   Christ told them Who He was, and they believed not on Him;   God the Father's works done by Christ;   God the Father's Name; Christ works bear witness of Him, that He is the Son of God;
10:26       But ye believe not, because ye are not of My sheep, as I said unto you.      Christ not believed in;   Christ sheep they are not of; And God said/spoke;
10:27       My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me:      Christ sheep;  Christ voice; Christ sheep hear His voice;  Christ knows whose are His';   Christ followed by His sheep;
10:28       And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.       Christ give eternal life to His sheep;    Christ sheep shall never perish;   Christ hand holds them and no on can pluck them out of His hand; Omnipotence;
10:29       My Father, which gave them Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand.       God the Father gave them to Christ;  God is greater than all;   God the Father's hand; Omnipotent;
10:30       I and My Father are one.      God the Father and Christ are one;
10:31       Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.      Christ sought to be stoned again;
10:32      Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from My Father, for which of those works do ye stone Me?      Christ answers them;  And God said/spoke;  Christ asks them a question; Christ showed them good works from God the Father;   Christ asks for which of these good works do they seek to stone Him;
10:33       The Jews answered Him, saying, For a good work we stone Thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that Thou, being a man, makest Thyself God.      Christ answered;   Christ told that they seek to stone Him not for the good works;  Chrsit told they seek to stone Him for blasphemy;  Christ falsely accused of blasphemy;   Christ makes and is God, and a man;  Christ is the God-man;
10:34       Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?       Christ answers them;  Christ asks a question;   Christ quotes Scripture
10:35       If He called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the Scripture cannot be broken.       God called them gods;    God's word came to them;  God's word cannot be broken;  And God said/spoke;
10:36       Say ye of Him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest:  because I said, I am the Son of God?      Christ spoken of falsely by them;   God the Father has sanctified Him;   God sent Him into the world;   Christ charged with blasphemy;  And God said/spoke;   Christ is the Son of God;
10:37       If I do not the works of My Father, believe Me not.     God the Father's works;   Christ gives them permission if HE does not do works of HIs Father they need not believe in Him;
10:38       But if I do, though ye believe not Me, believe the works:  that ye may known, and believe, that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.      Christ declares to them to believe Him for the works sake;  Christ does the works of His Father;  Christ not believed in for what HE has told them;   God the Father is in Christ;  Christ is in the Father;
10:39       Therefore they sought again to take Him; but He escaped out of their hand.      Christ sought to be taken; Christ escapes from them;
10:40       And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there He abode.       Christ goes away;   Christ goes to place where John baptized;   Christ abides there;
10:41       And many resorted unto Him, and said , John did not miracles:  but all things that John spake of this Man were true.       Christ resorted to;   Christ spoke and told of by John;  Christ the Man;
10:42       And many believed on Him there.      Christ believed on there;
Chapter 11
11:2     (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointmnet, and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)       Christ the Lord anointed;   Christ feet wiped with her hair;
11:3       Therefore his sisters sent unto Him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom Thou lovest is sick.      Christ sent for;   Christ made known that Lazarus was sick;
11:4       When Jesus heard that, He said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.       Christ hears;  And God said/spoke;    God's glory;  Christ is the Son of God;  Christ glorified;
11:5       Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.      Christ loves them;
11:6       When He had heard therefore that he was sick, He abode tow days still in the same place where He was.     Christ hears that he was sick;   Christ abides 2 days;  Christ place where He was;
11:7       Then after that said He to His disciples, Let us go into Judea again.      And God said/spoke;    Christ disciples spoken to; Christ gives directive to go into Judea;
11:8       His disciples say unto Him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone Thee; and goest Thou thither again?       Christ disciples;   Christ Name - master; Christ sought to be stoned;   Christ questioned about going there again;
11:9       Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day!  If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.    Christ answers them;   Christ is the Light of the world;
11:10       But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.     Christ declares those that stumble is because there is no light in them;  Christ is the Light;
11:11        These things said He:  and after that He saith unto them, Our friend, Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.       And God said/spoke (2);    Christ tells them that Lazarus is asleep;   Christ to awake him;
11:12      Then said His disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.     Christ disciples;   Christ answered by them;
11:13       Howbeit Jesus spake of His death:  but they thought that He had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.       Christ speaks of Lazarus death;   And God said/spoke;  Christ disciples thought HE spoke of sleeping, not death;
11:14       Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.      And God said/spoke;   Christ pronounces Lazarus is dead;  Omnipresent; Omniscient;
11:15        And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe, nevertheless let us go unto him.      Christ is glad for their sakes, that He was not there;  Christ declares intent of not being there, so that they  may believe;  Christ directs them that they shall go to him;
11:16        that we may die with Him.      Christ disciples Thomas declares to go with Him that they may all die together;
11:17        Then when Jesus came, He found that he had lain in the grave four days already.       Christ came;  Christ found Lazarus had been dead 4 days;
11:20        Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him:  but Mary sat still in the house.      Christ coming was announced, she heard it;  Christ went to and met by Martha;
11:21        Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if Thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.       Christ addressed by Martha;   Christ told if He had been there Lazarus would not have died;
11:22      But I know that even now, whatsoever Thou wilt ask of God, God will give it Thee.      Christ to ask of God, it shall be granted;   I will's of God to give to Christ His request that He asks for;
11:23        Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.      And God said/spoke;   Christ states that Lazarus shall rise again;
11:24        Martha saith unto Him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.      Christ addressed by Martha;
11:25       Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life:  he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:        And God said/spoke;   Christ is the resurrection and eternal life;   Christ to be believed in to live;
11:26       And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die.  Believest thou this?      Christ to be live in and believed in;  Christ to give them that live and believe eternal life;   Christ asks a question;
11:27      She saith unto Him, Yea, Lord:  I believe that Thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.       Christ answered;  Christ testified by her that she believes in Him;  Christ believed to be the Christ, the Son of God;  Christ came into the world;
11:28        And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.       Christ Name - Master;   Christ calls for her;
11:29       As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto Him.      Christ came to; Christ obeyed;
11:30       Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met Him.       Christ not come into town yet;  Christ in place where He met Martha;   Christ meets Martha;
11:32        Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying unto Him, Lord, if Thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.      Christ came to by Mary;  Christ seen; Christ feet she fell down;  Christ addressed;   Christ testified that Lazarus could have been healed, had Christ been there and did it;
11:33       When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled.       Christ saw her and Jews weeping;   Christ groans in spirit;  Christ troubled;
11:34       And said, Where have ye laid him?  They said unto Him, Lord, come and see.      And God said/spoke;    Christ asks a question;  Christ answered;  Christ asked to come and see;
11:35      Jesus wept.      Christ weeps;
11:36       Then said the Jews, Behold, how He loved him!       Christ loved him;
11:37    Christ questioned by people whether He could have saved and healed him;
11:38       Jesus therefore again groaning in Himself cometh to the grave.  It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.      Christ groans within Himself;   Christ comes to the grave;
11:39       Jesus said, Take ye away the stone.   Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto Him, Lord, by this time he stinketh:  for he hath been dead four days.       And God said/spoke;   Christ commands them to take away stone;     Christ questioned by Martha;
11:40        Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?       And God said/spoke;   Christ questions her questioning Him;  God's 'glory to be seen;  Christ asks a quesiton;
11:41       Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid.   And Jesus lifted up His eyes, and said, Father, I thank Thee that Thou hast heard Me.       And God said/spoke;  Christ lifts up His eyes;      Christ speaks to God the FAther;  Christ thanks God the Father;  God hears Christ;
11:42       And I knew that Thou hearest Me always:  but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that Thou hast sent Me.       Christ knows God hears Him always;   Omniscient;  God hears Christ always;   And God said/spoke;   God the Father sent Christ ;
11:43       And when He thus had spoken, He cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.      And God said/spoke;    Christ cries out to Lazarus;  Christ bids him come forth;
11:44       And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes:  and his face was bound about with a napkin.  Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.       Christ obeyed;   And God said/spoke;    Christ commands them to loose him from graveclothes and let him go free;
11:45        Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on Him.      Christ works seen;  Christ believed on by them;
11:46       But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.      Christ works told to the Pharisees;
11:47       Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council and said, What do we?  for this Man doeth many miracles.     Christ called a Man by them;  Christ doeth many miracles;
11:48    Christ talk about to not let Him go, lest Romans come and take away their place;
11:50       Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.       Christ prophecy that one man should die for the people;
11:51       And this spake he not of himself:  but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;     Christ prophesied of that He would die for the nation;
11:52       And not for that nation only, but that also He should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.       Christ prophesied of that He would gather together those that were scattered;  Christ would gather children of God together;
11:53       Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put Him to death.     Christ sought from that day to be put to death;
11:54       Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews:  but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with His disciples.       Christ walked not more openly;   Christ goes into city called Ephraim;   Christ continues there with His disciples;  Christ disciples;
11:56      Then sought they for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that He will not come ot the feast?       Christ sought;  Christ questioned whether He would be at the feast or not;
11:57       Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if anyman knew where He were, he should shew it, that they might take Him.      Christ sought by Pharisees and Jews to be taken;  Christ to be turned into them, so He might be taken;
Chapter 12
12:1      Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom He raised from the dead.      Christ comes to Bethany;  Christ raised Lazarus from the dead;
12:2       There they made Him a supper; and Martha served:  but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with Him.     Christ made a supper;  Christ sat the table;
12:3       Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair:  and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.     Christ anointed;  Christ feet anointed with oil;  Christ feet wiped with her hair;
12:4      which should betray Him.     Christ to be betrayed;
12:7       Then said Jesus, Let her alone:  against the day of My burying hath she kept this.      And God said/spoke;    Christ directs them to leave her alone;   Christ burying prepared for;
12:8     Christ instructs them that they have the poor always with them;  But Him they have not always;
12:9        Much people of the Jews therefore, knew that He was there:  and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom He had raised from the dead.      Christ known to be there;  Christ came to by the people to see Him and Lazarus;    Christ raised him from the dead;
12:11       and believed on Jesus.      Christ believed on by many;
12:12        On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,        Christ coming to Jerusalem;
12:13       Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet Him, and cried, Hosanna:  Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the Name of the Lord.        Christ met with palm branches;  Christ praised with Hosanna;  Christ blessed by people for being King of Israel;   Christ cometh in the Name of the Lord;
12:14       And Jesus, when He had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,      Christ finds a young ass;  Christ sits on it;  And God said/spoke;
12:15      Fear not, daughter of Sion:  behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.      God's word prophesied of Christ riding an ass's colt;   Christ Name - King; Christ cometh;  Christ sitting on ass's colt;
12:16       These things understood not His disciples at the first:  but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of Him, and that they had done these things unto Him.      Christ disciples;  Christ glorified;;  And God said/spoke;  Christ prophecy written of these things come to pass;
12:17     The people therefore that was with Him when He called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, have record.    Christ was with by people;  Christ called Lazarus out of grave;  God raised him from dead;
12:18      For this cause the people also met Him, for that they heard that He had done this miracle.      Christ met;  Christ heard of that He did this miracle;
12:19      behold, the world is gone after Him.     Christ gone after by people;
12:21       The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.      Christ desired to be seen of them;
12:22      Philip cometh and telleth Andrew:  and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.     Christ told of their desire to see Him;  Christ came to;
12:23       Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.     And God said/spoke;    Christ declares His hour is come;   Christ Name - Son of man;  Christ to be glorified;
12:24       Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall intot he ground and die, it abideth alone:  but if it die, ti bringeth forth much fruit.      And God said/spoke;    Christ teaches them of death and life;
12:25       He that loveth his life shall lose it:  and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.     Christ teaches eternal life is given through dying to this life;  Christ eaches that those that will not die to self, shall perish;
12:26       If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be:  if any man serve Me, him will My Father honour.      Christ ot be served;   Christ followed;   Christ location, where I am, Christ will let us be also;  Christ servant to be with Him; Christ served;  God the Father to honor those that serve Christ;
12:27      Now is My soul troubled:  and what shall I say?  Father, save Me from this hour:  but for this cause came I unto this hour.       Christ soul troubled;   Christ asks a question;  And God said/spoke;   God the Father prayed to by Christ, spoken to by Christ;   Christ request Father to save Him from that hour;  Christ yields to Father;   Christ came into the world for this cause;
12:28      Father, glorify Thy Name.  Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.       Christ declares for God the Father to glorify His Name;   God to glorify His Name;   God speaks from heaven;  And God said/spoke;   God has both glorified it and will glorify it again;
12:29      The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered:  others said, An angel spake to Him.      God voice heard;   God voice thundered;  God voice declared that it was an angel speaking to Christ;   Christ spoke to;
12:30        Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of Me, but for your sakes.     And God said/spoke;    Christ answers them;   God voice came not for Christ but for the people;
12:31       Now is the judgment of this world:  now shall the prince of this world be cast out.      Christ teaches what shall be and what shall happen;
12:32       And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.     Christ declares if He is lifted up He will draw men unto Himself;  I will's of God to be lifted up to draw men unto Himself;
12:33      This He said, signifying what death He shall die.     And God said/spoke;   Christ foretells HIs death;
12:34       the people answered Him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever:  and how sayest Thou, The Son of man must be lifted up?  who is this Son of man?    Christ answered;   Christ taught in law that He abides for ever;   Christ questioned on Son of man being lifted up;  Christ question on Who is the Son of man;
12:35      Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little whlie is the light with you.  Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you:  for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.      And God said/spoke;   Christ declares truth of those in light and walk in it;  Christ declares truth of those in darkness and those that walk in it;
12:36       While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light.  These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide Himself from them.     Christ commands them to believe in and be children of Light;  Christ is the Light;  And God said/spoke;  Christ departs;  Christ hides Himself;
12:37     But though He had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on Him:     Christ did many might miracles before them;    Christ not believed on;
12:38       That the saying of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report?  and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?     And God said/spoke;    God's word foretells of their unbelief in Christ;   God's prophet asks question;   God's arm revealed to who;
12:39    God's prophecy through Isaiah brought to pass; Omnipresent; Omniscient;
12:40       He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.      God blinds their eyes;  God hardens their hearts;  God foretells that they will not be converted;  God should not heal them;
12:41       These things said Isaiah, when he saw His glory, and spake of Him.     God's glory seen;  And God said/spoke;
12:42       Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on Him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:     Christ believed on by many of them;  Christ not confessed by them;
12:43       for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.      God's praise loved less than the praise of men by them;
12:44      Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on Me, believeth not on Me, but on Him that sent Me.     And God said/spoke;   Christ cries out ot them;  Christ believed on;  God believed on;  God sent Christ;
12:45      And he that seeth Me seeth Him that sent Me.      Christ seen; God seen by seeing Christ;  God sent Christ;
12:46       I am come a light into the world that whosoever believeth on Me should not abide in darkness.      Christ states that He came as light into this world;  Christ believed on gives light and abides not in darkness;
12:47       And if any man hear My words, and believe not, I judge him not:  for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.      And God said/spoke;  Christ words to be heard;  Christ judges not;  Christ came not to judge;  Christ came to save;
12:48       He that rejecteth Me, and receiveth not My words, hath one that judgeth him:  the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.      Christ rejected;  And God said/spoke;  Christ words rejected;  Christ Word spoken;  Christ Words shall judge on judgement day;
12:49       For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me, He gave Me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.      And God said/spoke;  Christ words not of Himself; God the Father sent Christ; God the Father gave Christ commandment;  the Lord commanded;  Christ commanded of what to say and what to speak;
12:50       And I know that His commandment is life everlasting:  whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak.       Christ knows Fathers commandment is life everlasting;  the Lord commanded;  And God said/spoke; Christ speak what Father said unto Him;  Christ obeys and repeats what Father said;
Chapter 13
13:1      Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that His hour was come that HE should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved His Own which were in the world, He loved them unto the end.      Christ knows His hour was come to depart;  Christ hour;  Christ departs;  Christ to depart unto Father;   Christ Own loved;  Christ loved them unto the end;
13:2      to betray Him;     Christ betrayed by Judas in his heart by Satan;
13:3       Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He was come from God, and went to God;     Christ knows God the Father had given all things into His hands;  "Christ hands; God the Father gives; Christ came from God;  Christ went to God;
13:4      He riseth from supper, and laid aside His garments; and took a towel, and girded Himself.     Christ rises; Christ garment laid aside; Christ takes towel; Christ girds Himself;
13:5       After that He poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith He was girded.      Christ pours water; Christ washes disciples feet;  Christ wipes them with towel;  Christ girded;
13:6      Then cometh He to Simon Peter:  and Peter saith unto Him, Lord, dost Thou wash my feet?     Christ comes to Peter;  Christ questioned by Peter;
13:7       Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.       Christ answers Peter;  Christ teaches him that he knows not now, but will;  Christ does not known by men at this time;
13:8      Peter saith unto Him, Thou shalt never wash my feet.  Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with Me.     Christ answered by Peter;  Christ told by Peter He would not wash his feet;  Christ answers him;  And God said/spoke;  Christ declares to him that if He washes not his feet he has not part with Him;  Christ part;
13:9       Simon Peter saith unto Him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.     Christ answered by Peter;  Christ told by Peter to wash his feet, hands and head;
13:10       Jesus said to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit:   and ye are clean, but not all.    And God said/spoke;   Christ answers him;   Christ declares to him that he that has feet washed is clean;  Christ declares they are clean, but not Judas;
13:11      For He knew who should betray Him, therefore said He, Ye are not all clean.      Christ knows all things - Omniscient;  Christ knows who would betray Him;   And God said/spoke;   Christ declares they are not all clean;
13:12      So after He had washed their feet, and had taken His garments, and was set down again, He said unto them, Know ye what i have done to you?      Christ washed their feet; Christ garments;  Christ set down;  And God said/spoke;   Christ asks a question;  Christ had done to them;
13:13      Ye call Me Master and Lord:  and ye say well for so I am.       Christ called Master and Lord;  Christ declares that it is well for saying that;  Chrsit is, "I am";
13:14      If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet:  ye also ought to wash one another's feet.      Christ was their Lord and Master;   Christ washed their feet;   Christ instructs them to wash one another's feet;
13:15         For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.     Christ gives an example to them;   Christ instructs them to do as He did to them;
13:16      Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his Lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent Him.      And God said/spoke;    Christ declares to them that servant is not greater than Lord;  Christ declares that he that is sent is not greater than he that sent him;
13:17      IF ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.     Christ declares they will be happy, if they know these things and do them;
13:18      I speak not of you all:  I know whom I have chosen:  but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with Me hath lifted up his heel against Me.      And God said/spoke (2); Christ knew whom He had chosen;   Christ eateth with;  Christ betrayed by that one;
13:19      Now I tell you before it come that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am He.      Christ declares to them what shall come to pass;   Christ to be believed in that HE is, "I am";
13:20      Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whosoever I send receiveth Me:  and he that receiveth Me receiveth Him that sent Me.      And God said/spoke;    Christ sent forth them, and they are to be received;    Christ to be received;  Christ sent by Father;  Father to be received;
13:21      When Jesus had thus said, He was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray Me.      And God said/spoke; (2);   Christ troubled in spirit;   Christ testifies;   Christ declares to them that one of them shall betray Him;   Christ betrayed;
13:22      Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of who He spake.      And God said/spoke;  Christ spoke of and they questioned who it was;
13:23      Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of His disciples, who Jesus loved.     Christ bosom one leaned on;  Christ disciples;  Christ loved this disciple;
13:24      that he should ask who it should be of whom He spake.      And God said/spoke;  Christ to be asked of whom He spake of betraying Him;
