PRAYER EMAIL - SEPTEMBER 18

 Greetings,
"So the Lord sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed:  and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men.
And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the Lord repented Him of the evil and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough:  stay now thine hand. . .
And David spake unto the Lord when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned; and I have done wickedly, but these sheep, what have they done? 
And David built there an altar unto the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.  So the Lord was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed form Israel." 
II Samuel 24:1 - 25

When God's hand goes out against a people, can they survive?    Israel had sinned, and God moved David to count the people.  God's allowance!   In I Chronicles 21, we are told of more detail on this, that 'Satan provoked David to number the people.'  Satan could only provoke David, if God gave permission and allowance.  Thus I say, God allows it.  Why?  Because Israel had sinned against God, angering Him, provoking Him.  And God sent a pestilence to them that lasted 3 days, and killed 70,000.  And that number would have been much higher had 'God not repented of the evil that He thought to do to them".   

We are closing in on 700,000 deaths in just over 18months.   

We see and hear the debates over vaccine shots, over mask mandates, over social distancing.  Churches and Christians split wide open over this, and engaging in hostile contention among each other.  It is awful to hear and see of these things.  But what we do not hear, from the church, from spiritual leaders, is "Cause & Effect".  Our ways and doings of sin against the Lord, as a nation, and as the church, is the cause of these things.  The effect, is the EPIDEMIC with stats of death and dying upon our nation over the last several years.  And the death rate of covid; over the last month, we have averaged over 1500 deaths per day.  Over the last months, we have averaged over 1000 deaths per day.  We are obliterating the 70,000 deaths that happened in 3 days against Israel.  Could it be because we have not responded as David, as the prophet Gad did, or Jerusalem did?    They came before the Lord; they sought atonement before Him and with Him; and they confessed their sins against Him.   They intreated the Lord for mercy!  and they found it!

A solemn moment is upon us, as the church.  So ready to move forward and get back to what we want.  Did we forget what we must do first?  Have we intreated successfully?  Have we prevailed?   WE are trying to deal with the effects without dealing with the cause.     Dismissed by far too many Christians, is the truth, 'God sends pestilence.'   God causes, and allows these things to be unleashed upon us.  And we must come before Him in most earnest, fervent and urgent prayers.  We must seek to make amends before Him for what has caused this.  A renewal of our vows unto Him; an entering into covenant once again with Him.   

And oh, to watch and behold the death and dying happening to saved and lost alike, is horrendous.  Far too many entering eternity without Christ.  But able to rejoice with those that we have lost and continue to lose, because we know they are with the Lord.  It is upon all and facing us all.  But it is the church that should understand this great judgement upon us.  No other nation is experiencing what we are experiencing.  Do you think a coincidence? a fluke?  No, it is a Divine moment.  It is a revealing of what shall be, if someone does not inreat the Lord and prevail for the land and the people.  

During the plagues of Egypt, Pharaoh called for Moses to intreat the Lord to remove and stop the plague, and he did.    The young prophet spoke against the altars of Jeroboam and the king stretched out his hand and it turned leprous.  And he sought the young prophet, 'Intreat the Lord for my hand'; and he did and the Lord restored it.   During those 40 years in the wilderness the children of Israel sinned over and over and God sent plagues, and then they would come to Moses and ask, 'Intreat the Lord for us for we have sinned.   And Moses and God repented.    And what shall we say of Ruth, 'Intreat me not to leave thee; but they people are my people and thy God, my God'.    Shall we not intreat the Lord?   

Rise up and seek Him, like never before.  Because we have never been this way before.  And it is the most urgent hour to prevail.  For who knows what may come next week or next month.   WE need the Lord to be intreated with our prayers, tears, fastings and cries.  'For who knows if He will repent and leave a blessing behind Him'.   
Cause and affect; intreat the Lord for the land.

1.  Drugs/Alcohol - the Lord sent the plague; death and destruction is phenomenal;

2.  Natural Disasters - the Lord sent the plague, fire, floods, storms, causing destruction and death;

3.  Children - 

4.  LGBT - 

5.  Plagues - 

6.  Great Evil - 

7.  Economy -

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
