PRAYER EMAIL - AUGUST 28

 Greetings,
"for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?"  Joel 2:11
"So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand."  Luke 321:31

Another day, week and month of fulfilled prophecy.  Another reminder of just how late the hour is.  Another moment to stop and consider what is happening and why it is happening.   Literally marking off the 7 seals, and the 7 trumpets in Revelation.  And yet before that final day of the Lord that ushers in the last 7 vials, we are seeing God's hand move against our nation.  And why shouldn't He?  Is His judgements not right?  "Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?"  Yes, He will!   And we have sown much in evil in our land and provoked Him greatly by our choices, laws and practices.  

The church has been instructed that during these days to bring forth the truth of these happenings.  The church is to answer the 'why' are these things happening.  We have the Word of God and the God of the Word, Who never changes and is going exactly what He did to His Own people in the Old Testament.  The church is to declare our evil, sin, forsaking God and forsaking His ways is ushering these huge devastations upon us.  And only in God, as we seek Him, broken and contrite will we find His hand of forgiveness and mercy.   "I will dwell in the high and Holy place with him that is broken and contrite."  

Brokenness and contrition is largely missing among the body of Christ.  Know these verses and do a study on it, it is the one thing needful, but the one thing missing from our altars and secret closets.

The church is to see these things coming to pass and understand what is happening.  Many of you, which devour and know the Word of the Lord see the things spoken of here coming to pass.  You know the hour.  But many in the churches, because of this epidemic of refusal to read/study the Word of God, do not now or understand these things.  Many preachers have not considered the hour or day in which we are living.  Far too many are thinking that everything is just going to continue as it was.  Far too many in the church and among pastors have just desired for things to go back to the way they were before covid.   Brethren, we are under severe judgement of God.  We will never go back to the way it was.  They do not understand the things that are coming to pass due to ignorance of the Word and failure to be instructed from the pastors.

But brethren, lift up your eyes and see and understand.  The EPIDEMICS that I have studied for almost 20 years and shared repeatedly with you as prayer targets have gone from 1's and 2's to dozens to 100's, to 1000's to every day moments.  Evil and sin has increased on a scale that we never seen and  20 years ago would never have dreamed of.  And all the remedial judgements over those 20 years, the church has largely missed its opportunity and window to seek the Lord and return to Him with brokenness and contrition.  I think much about after 9/11, when President Bush was so close to holding a Solemn Assembly for the nation, but was stopped at the last moment.  My how that could have changed our path as a nation.  But over and over, the judgements have come  and men have gone on as if nothing happened or no correction was needed.

Yet now, the day of the Lord is here, when it seems all the stops are pulled and the events happen one, right after another, to bring us to our ruin.  It is a terrible day.   Hurricane Ida to hit on the same day as 16 years ago when Katrina did - no repentance followed that devastation.  The 9/11 20 year memorial coming up, and our mourning over the 13 soldiers killed this past week.  It is the greatest of sorrow to read Deuteronomy 28 this past week and go over the curses again (which I preached at Fox's Hollow 8/29).   And know that all these are happening to us.   Not one per month, but all at once.   Yet, does the church see and understand?  It is a must that the church respond in this late hour.  'For who knows if He will turn and repent and leave a blessing behind Him"

When you see these things, it is needful to call for a solemn assembly.  To sit before the Lord with fasting, brokenness and contrition.  For our hour has come and death is the end result.  There are 1200 deaths per day in the US with covid.  This is largely because we did not get it right last year.  Far too many just wanted things to go back to the way they were.  They just wanted to 'enjoy' again.  When we should have sought the Lord, like never before.  It is 1 year since I held the "Call for a Solemn Assembly''.  I thank God for those 3 live streams we did.  But more must be done.  We must set another one to seek and wait before the Lord with fasting, brokenness and contrition.  A final moment to seek and repent is needed.  An opportunity to beseech Him for mercy, before He finishes what He has started as the 'day of the Lord'.    

The hour is late; the need is great; pray so as to prevail.

BROKEN BEFORE THE THRONE

4.  Calling out the called into ministry: teachers, preachers, evangelist, intercessors, missionaries;
5.  Ages 18 and under to see spiritual awakening, reaching the next generation;

PRAYER TARGETS:
Epidemics:
1.  Drugs/Alcohol - 

2.  Children - abuse, neglect, deaths, no Gospel in their lives; broken homes and broken lives;

3.  LGBT - continued headlines of places to support, implement and make it ok across nation;  

4.  Pestilence - covid for US is running high stats again;  over 1200 deaths per day;  over 150,000 new cases every day;  no where else in the world are they seeing stats like this, we have taken over both, cases and deaths; lambda variant is beginning;  

5.  Natural Disasters - hurricane Ida to hit on same day and same strength as Hurricane Katrina did 16 years ago;  wildfires continue;  extreme drought across 1/3 of the nation; earthquakes have finally quieted after record, historic month; still no answers on south side islands massive earthquakes; flooding in isolated places across south east;

6.  Great Evil - mass shootings running 2 per day; no mass murders this month so far; 2 school shooting deaths; 4 police officers so far this months shot and killed; murder-suicides running 1 and 1/2 per day;

7.  Economy -   collapse of dollar and markets soon;

UPDATE:
--bible readings - up through Joshua 9;
--The Activity of God - John 2; finished Luke, took almost a whole month to do full Gospel;
--A Word blog - Jeremiah 8, up through verse 15;  over 1/2 of this chapter is complete, need to finish all verses, before I get to the end of the chapter;  still have several in chapter 7 to go back and finish;
--Thursday Hour of Prayer - teaching how to pray for an hour before the Lord in the secret closet:  current worship theme is "Wait";  Confession - just finished Jeremiah, into Lamentations and Ezekiel;
petitions - go over multiple things to pray for and pray against;
--Church service Sunday at both churches and MOnday night Bible study;  everything so far is still in person and live stream;  cases are high in both counties, and if covid hits church family, we will go live stream only;

100 HOURS OF PRAYER - DEC. 2023

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
