PRAYER EMAIL - JULY 30

 Greetings,
"Horror hath taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake Thy law."  Psalm 119:53
". . . for they have made void Thy law."  Psalm 119:126
". . . because they keep not Thy law."  Psalm 119:136
". . . because mine enemies have forgotten Thy words."  Psalm 119:139
"They draw nigh that follow after mischief; they are far from Thy law."  Psalm 119:150
". . . for they seek not Thy statutes."  Psalm 119:155
"I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; because they kept not Thy word."  Psalm 119:158

Every time I complete reading the Bible through, usually takes about 5 months,  I try to spend two weeks, re-memorizing Psalm 119.  And it never fails to continue to speak to me.   Martin Luther was ever a lover of this Psalm for its impact on his life and ministry.  And I have come to find great teaching, strength, and growth in it as well of God's ways.  And here in these above verses, as I would recite over and over, I came to glean these truths of man's ways regarding God's Word.  There are 7 verses, mostly in the latter sections that speak directly to the sin of men in regards to God's Word.  

They are:  1.  men have forsaking Thy law; 2.  men have made Thy law void; 3.  they refuse to keep Thy law; 4.  they have forgotten Thy Word;  5.  they are far from Thy law;  6.  they seek not Thy statutes; and 7.  they keep not Thy word.  

In each of these 7 phrases, there is great anguish in my soul over where we are and how we got here.  It is expected that lost souls will do these things with no conviction, no remorse.  But what do we say, when we see the same things in the church today?  What do we say when we see this among those professing Christ?  How can they forsake, make void, refuse to keep, forget, seek no, keep not and remain far form His Word, will and ways?

The Word of God among the church today is largely fulfilling these 7 points.  This is in the church corporately, as well as in the spiritual disciplines of God's people.  We cannot afford to forsake the Word of God.  I am ever one asking my church folks, 'where are you in your bible readings?'   It is not an option to me.   We have a world, a nation and far too many family and friends that have done these 7 points to the Word of God, let it not be named among us.   At the close of this month, and 7 months into this year, what have you done with the Word of God?   Have you devoured it, read it, studied it, memorized it, gleaned from it; or have you forsaken, forgotten, not kept, put it far from you, and made it void?    

I sat in seminary preaching class of about 40 members.  The professor went around to this group and asked how many had read the Bible all the way through.  I was the only one.  I couldn't believe it!   But since then, it is a constant question and determining of those that are preachers, leaders, "what are you doing with the Word of God?"   For as the church leaders go, so goes their congregation and followers; and so goes our nation.   And any of these that have fallen into great sin, one clear sign was/is that they departed and committed these 7 acts against the Word of God, yea, against God Himself - for it is His Word.  

All of the advance of our enemy and hell upon our homes, nation, cities and mind/hearts of men is because we take up our sword of the Lord (Ephesians 6) and it is no more than a broken butter knife, good for nothing.    What we need is those that refuse to be found guilty of these 7 points of failure that David condemns.  Let them be found among the lost sinner, it is expected, but not among God's people.  Christians are to be found with a 6 foot sharp two edged sword, that pierces and divides soul and spirit, join and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.   They are to be found with a sword of the Word of God, like Goliath's, when David got it from his victory over him, and it was said of that sword, 'there is none like it'.  

All the laws, political movements of evil, men and women embracing abominations can be traced back to these 7 violations against God's Word.  Our nation, our families, and far too many churches and Christians are found guilty of these 7 violations; thus, opening the door for evil to come in like a flood.  True pulpits, true prophets, true Christians are ever defenders of the Word, not making it void, forsaking or forgetting it.  Be daily and often in the Word.   Have a knowledge of it, that is able to give an answer to this evil generation of God's purpose, intent and ways.    the reason that so many view the church as the latest podcasts or blog writings, is because it is just like the world, '2 cent editorial comments'; good for nothing.   But those of God's elect will seek out and go find those that 'rightly divide the Word of God'.  They crave it, they hunger after it, they know it is truth.   Do not be one that tickles ears; mites and fleas do that to dogs, and they simply tickle the ears.  Be the voice and faithful soldier that is ever a lover of the Word of God.

So, where are you in the Word, at the close of this month?  If you are right on track, reading and eating it, maintain.   But if you have lost your way and departed from it or sinking away form it, repent and return to it.   In this day of end times, it is ever that much more necessary to know what is happening and why and what is to come.   Time's up for our nation.  And there are far too many declaring their Christianity more interested in conspiracy theories and political actions and 'false statements on the 'mark of the beast' all because they do not the Word of God, or the God of the Word.   A true child of God says, 'Thy words were found and I did eat them'.

Vision 2025 - 1.  500 new missionaries; 2.  5000 new church starts; 3.  $125 million to pay for these things and support; 4.  ages 18 and under praying for huge spiritual awakening for this generation; 5.  Calling out the Called;  

PRAYER TARGETS:

Epidemics:
1.  Drugs/Alcohol - death destruction and desolation upon cities, homes and families;

2.  Children - continued abuse, neglect and utter collapse of family, next generation unreached and no knowledge or fear of God;

3.  LGBT - the abomination of our nation; corrosion of minds, hearts and lives; 'God has given us over to reprobate minds. . . '

4.  Natural Disasters -  the world is coming apart; I follow an instagram account, 'End time' and they report world wide natural disasters; unlike anything I have ever seen before - Turkey wildfire; Siberian wildfires; Alaska 8.2 earthquake, last 8..0 back in March, but before that it was 2019; on an average the 8.0 happen once per year; 7.0 happen on average of 1 per month;  flooding in numerous places of record setting pace in Europe, India;  Italy had a hail storm that was one of the worst that I saw filmed; 

5.  Pestilence -  covid crisis continues, delta variant doubling cases across world and US;  several have come up for prayer this past week and hospitalized, no deaths; WV has surged as well, with over 30 counties off of green status now;  other viruses, unique and rare in US - monkeypox virus in TX, first cases since 2003; and fleas and ticks in western states spreading plague virus;  

6.  Great Evil - murder-suicides have decreased for first time in I don't how long, going form 1 and 1/2 per day, to 1 per day in the month of July;   Police officers are at 7 dead from gun shot, 2018 there was 8 for the month of July; and mass murders for July stands at 2;  mass shootings are still increasing at 1 and 1/2 per day and should hit 400 by end of July; record total for mass shooting is at 471 last year for 12 months, we have reached that in 7 months;

7.  Economy - dow continues to fluctuate, unclear of money system collapse, when, how or where first;

--bible readings to start back August 1;  have spent last 2 weeks rememorizing Psalm 119;
--The Activity of God - Luke up through chapter 14;
--A Word - moving through Jeremiah 7;  all of chapter 6 is done and complete; backing up to chapter 1 - 5 to finish verses already started;  over 1/2 of chapter 7 is finished;
--live streams of church services on Sunday - Keyser at 10 AM; Fox's Hollow at 3 PM; Monday night Bible study - John 7; and Thursday Hour of Prayer at 7 PM;

100 HOURS OF PRAYER - DEC. 2023

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
