PRAYER EMAIL - 6/11

 Greetings,

". . . but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. "   Acts 12:4

If there was ever a time to pray so as to prevail, tis now!   R. A. Torrey defines this happening of prayer for Peter, by the church, as "the church stretch-out-ed-ly" on behalf of having Peter released and spared.   They gathered, they prayed, they sought and they found and they prevailed!   What an intense prayer meeting they had to have had.  James, the brother  of John had been slain for the cause of Christ.  And no doubt, Peter was next and would be killed, if God did not intervene.  Life & Death prayer intervention!  An example of preventive praying on behalf of those that death is imminent unless someone stands in the gap for them.

These instances of life and death are numerous in our age.  It is one thing to pray for healing for those physically affected, and there life hangs in the balance.  We have seen this with cancer, covid, and other issues.   We see this in preventive praying for those impacted by sudden crisis of an accident, car accident, or some other emergency; when you get that call that they are in the ICU and they don't know whether they will make it to morning - it is life and death.   Prayer is being taught this way, during our Thursday night Hour of Prayer for those that are evil affected.  Their minds and hearts are being impacted by Satan tempting them to take their own life, or the lives of those around them, through murder-suicides, mass murders, etc.    This is praying through, this "stretched-outedly" for this moment, and only God knows it, but His Spirit moves us to interact on their behalf, whether we know them or not.   Someone is going to die and enter eternity.  And well over 90% are lost and will enter an eternal hell fire for ever and ever.  Should this not compel us to seek for 'in wrath remember mercy'?

Several occasions in my life, God's Spirit has settled on me and urged me to pray.  Something was wrong, evil was near, and I was moved to pray against evil and seek His hand for restraint of evil.  Some of those moments revealed some of the worst moments in our nation's history.  I understood, after the fact, what God was doing.   And since then, when the moment comes and He presses me, I pray 'stretched-outedly' because it is a life and death circumstance.      That same moment is upon me now, and has continued since after NDP.  Something isn't right, there is a cloud the size of man's hand on the horizon; not for rain of refreshing, but a downpour of evil.  Soon it shall unfold and praying after the fact is useless.   There is only time for preventive prayers.   If the church would have waited till morning to call a prayer meeting, Peter would have been dead the next day.   It was pray before they killed him, not call for prayer after.    As the church, we still have not learned this.   

Numerous tragedies unfold and happen, largely a school shooting, police officer(s) gunned down, tragedy, and you see on social media posts, "Pray for. . . ".   And I often asked, what if we had been sensitive to the Spirit and He led us to stop the evil before it happened.   And you may say, 'how can we stop all the evil of these days?"   Probably not all the evil; for God is working out His judgements in death and dying in ways that are far above us.   "The wages of sin is death" and these things will happen.  But do you not pray for safety and help for your loved ones? do you not pray for their lost soul to be saved?   These are forms of preventive prayers.

Now take heed brethren, we are in a crisis unlike any that I have ever seen or known.   Deaths of mass murders are record settings.  And the greatest alarm, is that mass shootings are running equal to murder-suicides.  Murder-suicides are at 272 and mass shootings are at 262 for this year so far; and roughly we are at 160 days so far this year.   This is an alarming stat of how much death and dying is happening.  And it would be greater if not for God's mercy.   This alarm is every where; although largely domestic in nature.   Horrific accounts of the evil on our homes, families and communities.   These things of evil are averaging 1 and 1/2 per day.   And I don't hear anything of this from the church.   God is giving us over to reprobate minds, and the product of that is a culture of death, dying and destruction.   

We won't survive as this continues.  A Divine moment of prevailing is needed by the church to combat this evil being poured out upon us.    It is a daily, yea an hourly, moment to moment call to prayer for this evil.   A 'stretched-outedly' moment is needed to prevail for God to restrain the evil, preserve the lives, and deliver us from evil.   As drug use and overdoses, cancers, have impacted just about every family and every church.  So also will suicide, murder-suicides impact all families and churches.  And follow close behind is these accounts of mass shootings and mass murders.  It is the flood of evil swelling the flood waters crashing the flood waters over every state, county, city, community, street and home and family and church - all will be ravaged in this tide of evil - unless someone prevails!

Do you see it?  Are you aware of it?  Is God calling you to take up such a prayer position before Him?   Ravenhill - 'it is one thing for a man to stand in front of men on behalf of God; but it is much more to stand in front of God on behalf of men'    I choose the latter and will come before the throne of grace to help in this time of need.   I will come 'stretch-outedly' before Him to spare and turn and repent and leave a blessing behind Him.'   HELP US O GOD!

SBC convention - set to be one of the biggest turn outs in recent decades for SBC; definitely set to address numerous situations;   critical race theory - women preachers - leadership - sexual predators - etc.   As I read and view the issues on social media; one overwhelming thought - DISTRACTIONS AND DISRUPTIONS.   Its not that that these issues do not need to be dealt with, they do.   But priority is about the kingdom of God, not our kingdom.   6 billion souls without the Gospel and perishing and Satan has found an inroad to distract from kingdom agenda over these things.  It is a time of reckoning for the SBC, praying for God to move and things to be dealt with rightly before the Lord.   If ever a time to pray for the SBC 'stretched-outedly' tis now.

Broken Before the Throne - website shows some activity of people looking; last several weeks, following busy April with live streams has been quiet;  working on writing, verses for prayer notebook, and listening;

PRAYER TARGETS:

EPIDCEMICS
1.  Drugs/Alcohol - continuous judgement upon our land of addictions, death, despair, destruction; over 150,000 related deaths per year;

2.  Children - summer months; children out of school, in homes, where they are in horrible situation of neglect, abuse and harms;

3.  LGBT - the advancing of this so rapidly in our culture, nation and world, reveals, the intensity that God will judge the world soon;   This abomination and its increase among society and acceptance by the church, reveals how near we are to the end.   

4.  Plagues - covid- US leveling downward in deaths and cases;   India continues to rage; Brazil and other South America nations devastated with stats;  

5.  Natural Disasters - flooding in the east; over 20 inches in a week in the south;  while out west, CA and other states are set for a record setting drought and shortage of water;   Arizona wildfire burning now, is 10th all times for state and continuing; 

6.  Great Evil - this is the scariest thing that has been on the horizon for a while; mass shootings (3 or more people shot at one time) is set to catch and surpass, murder-suicides;  long have I touted the evil of murder-suicides, racing from one per week, to now 1 and 1/2 per day; and out of no where, mass shooting has caught them for the first 5 months of this year;   mass murders are at 17, running at least 3 per month avg.  last 3 months, 4 and 5; homicides and suicides running consistently;  the greatest evil of our day; and I don't hear hardly anything about this from the church;  minds and hearts evil affected, given over to reprobate minds;

7.  Economy - I have this to the lists of our epidemics; debt; inflation; shortages; the doom of economic collapse is being reported and warned of;   catastrophic collapse, world wide;  'All that our money and increase in goods has done to keep us from God, will be removed in a moment'; '/we will know want like the rest of the world'.

--Tuesday night bible study - up through John 6;
--Thursday Hour of Prayer at 7 PM; new sections sharing for worship and confession;
--1st and 3rd Sunday's prayer with local pastors;   looking at doing an all night prayer meeting for 6/25;

100 HOURS OF PRAYER - DEC. 2023

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
