PRAYER EMAIL - APRIL 2

 Greetings,

"How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?"

The Lord is pronouncing, here early in this prophetic book of Jeremiah that He is sending forth the army to destroy them.  It is not if, God sends them; but when He sends them.  It is a certainty; an absolute from God, "I will make this whole land DESOLATE" v. 27.   And the prophet has declared, to the people for years, yea for decades; and God has sent His prophets, rising up early and sending them for centuries.  How gracious and merciful is God's longsuffering, with His Own people.    But now justice and judgement shall come forth and fulfill the will of the Father upon them, and upon the land that they have defiled.  

To see and hear the onslaught of God's judgement against a nation and against a people, is set before me.  Over a decade and for this entire century, thus far, we have seen and heard the remedial judgements from God against our nation.  But largely there has been no resolved to humble ourselves and pray.   Although, every prayer meeting and gathering, someone has to quote II Chronicles 7:14.  And there is nothing wrong with quoting it, I'm just wondering how long before we quit mouthing words and actually start to do it.    

We have seen and heard the judgement come against as a whole on 9/11; drugs; and death.  We have seen the evil grow worse and worse; law and judicial edicts passed to hasten the evil into our society, homes, cities and minds and hearts.  And largely, a failed effort by the church to push back and not allow for evil to advance.   Our prayers should be much set on asking and pleading with God to make hell retreat and heaven and the church advance.   And all along that this has been happening, time continues to erode away.  We do not have all the time in the world, like so many believe.  There comes a day when, like Jeremiah, you see these things unfold right before you upon the people.   That time is nearer than what most want to admit. 

If we understood this, there would be more urgency and desperation before God.  If we understood this, there would be more seeking and asking for mercy and restraint from the evil.   But the church has the mentality that there is plenty of time; and thus, no urgency and desperation.    But lift up your eyes and see the army approaching.  See the destruction already on the land; see death at its worst.   Souls are perishing, the church is languishing, and the resource of hope and power that we have, which is in prevailing prayer, is the least exercised weapon of our warfare.   Oh, that we were prevailing in prayer.  

How long do I have to continue to see these headlines, and read and hear of these awful evil happenings?   How long do I have to endure the apathy of the church and leaders?  How long must the prayer meetings be withdrawn from, generally the least attended church service, if they have one at all?  How long, O Lord?   Were it better that I be blind and deaf?   No!  Because I do see and hear, I am able to come boldly before His throne of grace and seek HIs help.  When He says, 'I looked for a man. . ."I will make my prayer closet His venue.  And will labor all my days, so long as I have breath and time, that it not be finished in this verse, '. . .. but when I sought for a man, I could find none.'   I have resolved in my lifetime, that will never be said.   May God grant me my desire (and I know many of your that read these prayer emails.)   

Lift up yourself, go after Him, be much alone with Him.   Make prayer a priority again.  Learn much in silence before Him, of His heart and His mind.  Know the Word of the Lord, so you may know the Lord of the Word.   Hear and see the horror upon the land, and know that our time is short.  Soon He will come in full vengeance and remove us from the earth. But until then. . . . .until then, I will give myself unto prayer.  I will pray so as to prevail.  And by His grace and mercy, we shall obtain.   I have many that write and tell me, "dan, there are many praying".  And that may be so; thank God for that.  But we haven't prevailed.  So it is not a time to let up, or let down.  Because we have not prevailed, and evil has prevailed; there is an alarm to pray so as to prevail.   

The hour is late, the need is great; pray so as to prevail!

Tuesday - throughout the day prayer ministries sharing on what they are doing and seeing and how we can pray for our city and focuses;

"A Day of Prayer - SBC" - April 24;   a 12 hour day, 9 AM (EST) -  9 PM (EST);  live stream feed to social media platform;  Emphasis:  calling SBC membership, churches, entities and pastors to a renewed prayer life;  For SBC churches to be houses of prayer; and for us to be men and women of prayer;

BBtT - I'm at a loss right now, of direction for April.  My time for most of this year has been with Doug.  And even though I have tried to do zoom calls on 1st and 3rd Saturdays for prayer, they have not been attended.   I'm still doing Thursday night hour of Prayer, and a good nucleus watch these.  But the actual praying and prayer times are not supported.  Update goes out to prayer partners and board next week.

PRAYER TARGETS:
--for March, mass murders had 5;  I don't know that that has ever happened.   Alarming stats on death and dying.  Major reflection of our mind set and hearts of evil.   Continued and worse predictions for the near future.   
--extreme drought conditions in the south west of the US;  stretching now into plains, mainly North Dakota;
--drugs/alcohol related deaths and health issues;  New York state now has legalized drug use for recreation; continued states legalizing it, it will domino fall for US;  only a matter of time, and there will be no restraint;
--children - the scenes and images of children dumped across the border wall in the south is horrifying;  so many children and families impacted by this disaster;  also disaster for those in Mozambique, 100,000's fleeing and seeking deliverance from Islamic rebels;
--Myanmar revolution - pastors, missionaries and churches;  much death and destruction;
--volcanos world wide exploding feverishly; 
--watching and praying against two pieces of legislation in Congress - Equality Act and Voting Rights;
--harvest, lost soul, and unreached people groups
