A CALL TO PRAY - SBC - APRIL 24

 Greetings,
"And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself:  for then shall the Lord go out before thee, to smite the hosts of the Philistines." 
 II Samuel 5:24

Never before, in our life time, has there been so much emphasis on prayer and prayer initiatives across the body of Christ.  Many different prayer leaders have testified that they have never seen the activity of prayer from the church and individuals, like what is happening today across the US.  We have seen and heard from many SBC pastors, churches and prayer leaders the same testimony.  Thank God for all this!  And with this unprecedented prayer happening, should SBC miss the next move of God for revival and spiritual awakening?   If we are starting to hear 'the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees'; then let us bestir ourselves, rouse ourselves up and come before the throne of grace, to obtain His mercy and find His grace for this time of need.

And it is a time of need for our nation, and for the church and especially for the SBC.   Cities, our streets, homes, many hearts and minds of men, women and children, are under assault from the enemy; and we know Christ is the answer for it all.  When such things happen, we are instructed from the Word of God  to assemble, pray and seek Him.  Let us come before Him, as He instructed David, and wait until we hear the sound of His Presence coming.   And while we are waiting, let us offer our prayers, of worship, confession, petition, supplication and intercession on behalf of the Lord's church and kingdom, on behalf of our nation and the nations(s) for His glory to come.   

The SBC, as well, as all the bride of Christ is in great trouble and need.  Church baptism, attendance, moral failings among Christians, and lack of the power and Presence of God is rampant.  We need a Divine moment; we need revival - God's Manifest Presence to come.  The nation is sinking into an evil abyss, evil is abounding on all fronts and a great mass of the population is without Christ, and it seems little power to rescue them.  We need an awakening to come to the nation, to seek and save that which is lost.   And any time that this has ever happened in days gone by, it was because God's people set themselves to pray.  You are being asked to join in a day of prayer.  And not only one day, but to set forth a daily time and pattern to "continue in prayer" (Colossians 4:2).

Many churches do not have a corporate prayer meeting; many Christians are struggling to maintain and have a prayer life, we seek to turn that around.  Now while there is still time to do so.  

On April 24th, a day of prayer is set for churches and individuals to come before the Lord.  There will be a live stream from 9 AM (EST) - 9 PM of different SBC spiritual and prayer leaders to lead us in the Word of God and in prayer points.   This will be a live stream - https://www.brokenbeforethethrone.com    You are being asked to join us, pray with us and for us, and help promote this across SBC contacts.   

Many churches are struggling through covid responses, pastors are facing numerous uncertainties and far too many are lost and without Christ in our communities/cities.   All across the SBC state conventions, associations, SBC seminaries, and SBC entities they are being asked to join in setting aside a time to pray and seek the Lord for revival and spiritual awakening.  Saturday, April 24 we will wait before the Lord in prayer, and Sunday, April 25,  we wait with expectancy and great faith, that He will blow across the mulberry trees for His glory Name sake.

100 HOURS OF PRAYER - DEC. 2023

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
