PRAYER EMAIL - FEB. 26

 Greetings,

". . . for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full."  Gene. 15:16

The thoughts and ways of God are marvellous to consider and give meditation to.  There are verses in the Bible that just leaves one, 'mystified'.  And how about this verse, and others of like fashion, that God reveals the mystery of time regarding the promised land for Israel and the Amorites iniquity being full or filling up.   God says that Israel must go into Egypt and be there for 400 years.  During this 400 years multiple things shall happen.  One, the children of Israel will become a multitude of people that construct a nation.  Thus, the fulfillment of the promise of the covenant to Abraham that his descendants shall become as the sand on the seashore, or as the stars in heaven.  Secondly, that before they could inherit the promise land, the second promise of the covenant between God and Abraham, that the Amorites must fill up their cup of iniquity.

The progression of evil in our nation, in our homes, and in the hearts and minds of men is rapidly increasing our fullness of iniquity.  And with so much prayer for the last 50 years, and still no revival or spiritual awakening, one must ask - Why?    Why no prevailing?  And with so much prayer, there is not been the least lessening of evil, but the very opposite, great increase.  Why?  And here we have this verse in Scripture that defines, that God knows and structures, His people for His purposes.  But He also allows for sin and evil to increase, with no respite, in order to bring forth justice and judgement.

Surely we must ask, if that is our purpose and God's plan now, to allow for this increase of evil to simply complete our time of iniquity?   Is it without revival? is it without awakening?  Or is God allowing darkness and evil to abound, so that His marvellous Light may shine brighter in such moments?  It is the same image in the New Testament, of the filling of the cup of wrath.   I don't hear much conversation about these things.   Simply quoting and re-quoting II Chronicles 7:14.   But those of you that listen to me, know I rarely quote this verse.  For in the verse, it states, 'humble and pray' and we, as Americans and the church, are unwilling to do either.  Pride and prayerlessness, is our standard.   Our houses are not houses of prayer, and far to many Christians have no prayer life.  A sin unidentified and unrepented of before the Lord.

God knows men, He knows nations; and He knows His Own people.  We are sorrowfully, doomed of repeating sin against the Lord.  We know better, but we rarely do better.    But resolved in this we must be, 'I will not allow evil to grow and multiply without confronting it for God's righteous sake.'   And if God does send final judgement upon us for the fullness of our Amorite moment, and we know He has to do judge us at some point; but with or without revival is the question.   But if it is just final judgement, I will be on the other side having labored to seek Him, 'in wrath remember mercy.'   I will seek and pray for 'a little reviving'.  "I will wait before Him, to see what He shall answer me, when I am reproved.'

But I am not content to go with the flow of the traditions of men.  To go back to normal, pre-covid.   It is to seek Him to be pleasing unto Him.  It is to set the example and practice of that which pleases Him, which is brokenness and contrition.   Are you broken?  Are you contrite?  May we set forth this before men that they may know the hour is at hand for us.   And shall He find faith in the earth, or within us, for such a time as this?   May it be son.  Be resolved brethren, for everything is at stake right now.  It is our greatest hour of need and we must live and be, as it is.

A couple of questions that you may meditate on this before the Lord:
--how much time do we have?
--will there be a reprieve by revival and/or awakening?
--what role will persecution have?
--are we content to allow justice and judgement without a response?
