PRAYER EMAIL - FEB. 13

 Greetings,
Luke 18:5, ". . . lest by her continual coming she weary me."  

IMPORTUNITY! -- I have been much focused on this, this week.  EM Bounds in his collection of books on prayer used this word over and over.  And it is the mandate of a prevailing spirit of prayer - "I will not be denied."   But it is not a spirit that is within the will of man; although there be men that stirs themselves up.  But it is the breath of God within that enflames the spirit of prayer and not just to pray, but to prevail.  Ravenhill, 'God does not answer prayers;  God answers desperate prayers."  And brethren, it is a desperate, urgent hour, and will require desperate prayers so as to be heard and answered.

Too often in life, and, for far too many in the churches, these last decades, (or just center in on the first 21 years of this century), we have largely served without importunity.  Importunity is that incessant pleading before the Lord, for what is happening or failing to happen.  Evil has come in like a flood.  Wickedness prevails in our nation and homes and hearts, and we largely, as the church are unmoved by it.   Proof of this is in the lack of tears in the prayer meetings (and the lack of prayer meetings).  Yea, the opposite, we conform to it and compromise with it.   Where is the importunity of our hour?

It should be spoken, taught and shared repeatedly, if we don't see more of this spirit of prayer in importunity in our prayers meetings, at our altars, and in our own secret closets, I fear what the Lord may do next.  It's almost like Jonah has already pronounced 40 days till God responds upon our nation.  And our failure to respond with this importunity in our passions of prayer will only usher in God's wrath and judgement on our nation, unlike anything that we have seen before.  It will be the judgement of Egypt - 10 plagues; it will be the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah - complete annihilation; it will be the children of Israel in the wilderness - entire generation wiped out.   Are we accepting? content? allowing of this?  I am not.    

It may be for you and I to consider praying for a spirit of importunity upon our churches and prayer closets.  To ask God to birth within us a desire to not be content or allowing of such things which are contrary to His will and ways.  And to know the certainty that if we do not prevail through importunity, God will respond with wrath and fury.   Woe to the inhabitants of our nation, homes when such a thing come to pass.  But until that happens, I am moved to seek Him and not stop, nor be swayed, until I find Him.  'Seek ME, and ye shall find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."  May we all be resolved in such a passion to seek and find; and not cease till He rends the heavens and comes down.   Oh, how we need You, Father;  Manifest Yourself to us once again and forever change us into Spirit filled saints for Your glory!  

As it has impacted me this week, so I pass it along to you that read this devotional prayer emails.  Would you stop and consider this passage in Luke 18: 1 - 8?  Would you examine your own prayer life and see if you and your church or small prayer group have this characteristic of importunity?     If so, labor on my beloved.  And may the Lord grant you the desires of your burden.  For I have found that those that have this spirit of importunity, few there be that pray with you for the fulfillment of this heavenly Divine embedding of God's will.    Many will say to you, 'I'm praying for you'; but few ever pray with you.  

And if you do not reflect this spirit of importunity, would you ask for it? would you seek it?  would you foster the means to get before God and be as this widow woman?  "How much more will your heavenly Father give you this"   He is willing and able.   Are you?

9 PM - James Pool, One Cry will hosts a panel of leaders to pray for revival and spiritual awakening;
Tuesday - 9 AM (EST) - Dave Butts to open day with message;
Throughout Tuesday non-stop prayers, Word shared, video clips, etc. through 6:45 PM;
7 PM (EST) - Carter Conlon will hosts Times Square Church corporate prayer meeting for the nation;
9 PM closing;

What follows March 17 through April is a weekly, daily continued seeking to assemble and prevail with this spirit of importunity.

Ministry donors - give as the Lord leads;  this is a faith ministry, and I will not make known my needs or set fundraisers, etc.  the Lord knows and He is Jehovah-Jireh.   

PRAYER TARGETS:
EPIDEMICS -
1.  Drugs/Alcohol -  large silence on impacts; only seeking to continue to legalize it across the board; death is legal in US;

2.  Children - continued physical, emotional and sexual abuse; not much headlines on super bowl increase of sex trafficking;   children raised without any knowledge of God, creating a generation void of the fear and love of God - critical crisis mode;

3.  LGBT - this coupled with abortion and drugs will US reason for God removing us form earth as a nation;   I continued to see more and more churches and professing Christians applaud, support and confirm and compromise with this abomination.   I'm left baffled of cause:  is it ignorance of God's Word? or is it love of family and friends over God's holiness and ways?   Either way, I do not want to be named among such. Nor will I ever.

4.  Natural Disasters - 3 7.0 earthquakes already this year; but still no 8.0, and approaching 2 years since, due for this, as the average is one per year;   over 170 earthquakes of 4.5 or more the last week;  I don't remember a time that it has been this high; nor have I ever seen 70 aftershocks of the 7.7 Vanuatu earthquake;   weather related fires, floods, cold, etc.    Still seeing numerous reports globally of mass death of fishes from oceans, and no answer to why. 

5.  Plagues - cancer; STD's; covid; continued impact of death and dying;  Severe judgement of God on society and civilization;

6.  Great Evil - homicides/suicides/murder-suicides - huge trend upper from last year's historic, record setting stats;   mass shootings are averaging one per day;  incredible amount of incidents everywhere.  IT's only by God's mercy that there are not more mass murders from these shooting; 3 mass murders so far this year;   Murder-suicides are now running 2 per day; continues upward trend in stats;  Victory in prayer is minds and hearts;


UPDATE:
--finished bible readings this week; 54th time through; 55 is The Activity of God;  taking 2 weeks off to rememorize Psalm 119; and it never fails to feed my soul with some new Divinely revealed truth(s);  HE has already revealed in just these last days.
--The Activity of God - the Old Testament is done - 3 year project;  I will seek to put it on a drive thumb and start copying some of it out to preserve.  But it is on my blog for now.   I will start New Testament today or first of week.  It looks like that may be 1 to 1 and 1/2 years.  
--A Word - Jeremiah 3: 17;   with everything else this has taken a hit; started verses, but not much finishing verses;

CONTINUE IN PRAYER #2 Invite Letter for 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC

 Greetings, "Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;" Colossians 4;2 We are just under one month away from our "100 Hours of Prayer for SBC". We are set to gather as many from SBC life to have a continual spirit of prayer for the work of God to be done in us and through us. The work of God does not come about by the means of men, but by prevailing prayer. Oh, that every SBC church, over 40,000 were to be powerhouses of prayer for the kingdom of God.
