Prayer Email - 2/20/21

 Greetings,

"But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days; but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.  Now am I come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days:  . . . "  Daniel 10

"WITHSTOOD ME" - what a sight in the heavenly realm!    How much goes on and what goes on; all but restricted to us.  Not because we cannot see nor hear, but we are so earthly, temporal and carnal; we largely do not want to see nor know such things.  Yea, how much has been the direction of the Christian and the church in this age, to bring God down to our level, rather than us rising to His level.  Thus, the reason why we do not agree nor accept, 'Thy ways are higher than our ways and Your thoughts are above our thoughts'.   Our pride and narrowness in prayer has more of a 'my way' rather than 'God's way.'   

Yet, what a Divine invitation to enter in before His throne.  Paul said, "I knew a man who enter in and saw and heard things too wonderful to be repeated.' Wow!  I remember 'ol Gareth Evans, in my first meeting with him, 'Dan, I've been to the burning bush.'  Wow!   O Lord, may we enter in!  May we hear and see things that are said and done, that can only be explained, ". . . but God!"   Let us fulfill HIs mandate and 'set our affections on things above rather than the things of this world that withstand His will and way.'  

Do you remember that great sermon of Major Ian Thomas, 'A Grain of seed. . "? unless it dies, it cannot bring forth fruit.  Death to self, life in Him; He must increase, I must decrease.  It becomes all about Him and HIs Word, His ways, and His will.  He has said, 'He that hath ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the church/to us as Christians.'  This angel in Daniel 10 spoke and said, 'the Father sent me to speak to you and reveal to you; I am sent to make you understand.'  May we be those who are still long enough and often enough with Him to be made to hear and know His plans of the latter days.  

And let us focus for a moment, in prayer times, on that which 'withstands me and you'.  That which withstands the church in it prayers and labors.  Why does evil abound?  Why does the church lack the Pentecostal power?  Why do so few seek for it?  Why are we content with the failure of our generation, when we possess such a weapon of warfare in prevailing prayer?   Something withstands me, you and the church.

Now we know Psalm 66, 'If I regard iniquity in my heart the Lord will not hear me.'  And if He does not hear, He will not answer.  "WE ask amiss. . .'  'We are guilty of the sin of unbelief. . . ' 'our hands and hearts are not holy and pure and tongues left undefiled, thus we cannot ascend the hill of the Lord'.   In any of these it is the sin in the believer, the body of Christ.  There is sin in the camp, and God will not allow for us to proceed with such things, that would taint and dishonor His Holy Name and purposes.  

But there is also those things that withstand us, like Daniel's angel encountered of the forces of Satan.  Demons, principalities, and powers engage us in a spiritual warfare that we are not ready to fight, nor largely do not know how to fight.    But throughout all the scriptures this battle is waging, but how rare to find those that engage and fight and win.   For the most part, the church and Christians, I believe, are defeated, but they do not even know who defeated them nor how.   I believe that Pauls' admonition, 'we are not ignorant of Satan's devices'; but I say, we are very much completely ignorant of our enemies tactics, and warfare.   We keep blaming and looking to symptoms rather than the actual disease; we engage his minions rather than their lord.   We wear ourselves out fighting the wrong part.  The prince of hell that governed Persia withstood Gabriel.   The battle was not the government, the king, the people, it was the demon of hell.    We know not what we fight!

Tony Perkins shared and spoke at Dick Simmon's memorial service there in DC.  I did not know Dick, but saw where many prayer leaders grieved and were saddened by his death.   But Pierre Bynum encouraged me to watch that 3 hour memorial service.  One of the best things to encourage and bless me.   This man Dick Siimmon's prayed 8 hours a day.  He was called to go to DC and be an intercessor.  And since his death, Tony Perkins said, 'there is a heavy weight of evil upon this city since Dick's passing'.  You know why?  Because God used a man, given to prayer, to WITHSTAND the enemy from complete domination of evil.   And once that prayer warrior is removed, there is no one to withstand the flood of evil that is wanting to come in from Satan and hell.  Thus our nation!, homes! churches! 

I remember Gerhard Du Toit's testimony, another dear prayer warrior, tell of the woman in South Africa that was an intercessor for his early days of ministry.  And upon her death bed, in the hospital, she prayed over him one last time.  And walking out of that hospital he realized the horror, that some of us have known: "Who will pray for me now?"  Who will withstand the enemy for me? for my family? for the brethren? for the church?  for the nations?  

Rise up men and women, and withstand the enemy of our Lord.  For its all on the line right now.  And God's eyes and hears go forth throughout to raise one up to withstand the enemy so that we might prevail and have the victory.   Are you withstanding? or are you being withstood?  

Choose you this day, but as for me. . . . I give myself unto prayer.

PRAYER TARGETS:
EPIDEMICS
1.  Drugs/Alcohol - 2020 reports that drug overdoses were record number; no word on deaths;  laws passed to embrace and permit that which is and has killed millions;  lunacy;

2.  Children - abuse, sex trafficking, impact on teens from no school accelerate suicide rate;  yesterday was the 3rd year anniversary of Boko Haran capturing school children; only one remain - Leah Shirabu - a Christian girl still in captivity, and unknown of whereabouts;  I have embraced the prayer for this girl - long have I engaged in the undoing of boko haran and their evil;  "I PRAY FOR LEAH";

3.  LGBT - continuous push to engage laws, judicial edicts and attack the church to be silent against abomination;  end game strategy is to remove church from society and culture;  they will legalize pedophilia, and strip all common sense decency to cause their evil to abound;

4.  Natural Disasters - cold, snow in south of US/Mexico; record setting and historic damage and life and death;  places across LEbanon and Saudi Arabia snowfall; volcanos activity at record setting pace; earthquakes world wide over 4.5 for 7 days went over 200 this past week;  I have never seen that before that I am aware of.    I really can't keep up with all the world wide happenings.   

5.  Plagues - covid stats are lessening; but new strains are breaking forth; 500,000 deaths in US: world wide closing in on 2.5 million;

6.  Great Evil - suicides; homicides; murder-suicides - murder-suicides are still running higher than ever before of 1 and 1/2 per day to 2 per day at times;   mass shootings (4 or more people wounded) are running 1 per day, record setting;  Mass murders - (3 or more killed by shooting) is holding at 3;  police officers killings are at 8 for the year;  "blood defiles the land";

--A Word - Jeremiah 3;  finished starting all the verses, need to go back and finish and complete verses;
--sunday services for churches still live stream; Monday night bible study - in person for those that can come; Thursday Hour of Prayer - live stream at 7 PM; 
--BBtT - working with Doug Small for "America's Prayer Meeting" - March 15 - 16; travel to Cleveland, TN for that broadcast; 
--24/7 prayer - working to assemble for March 17 and following;
--Zoom call prayer meeting for BBtT - for Feb. we did 1st and 3rd Friday nights;  for March may consider Saturday evenings at 8 or 9 PM;
--Zoom call prayer meeting for "America's Prayer Meetings" Tuesday evening at 8 PM and Thursday at noon;
--"Sin" - blog posts, I have not got back to for several weeks now;

100 HOURS OF PRAYER - DEC. 2023

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying. A generation ago, you could hear and know of 'all night prayer meetings'.  Now, they are a rare diamond to find.  Among Wednesday night church
