 The Activity of God


Going through the Bible, book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse, phrase by phrase and word by word to give attention to the following:
--the Names of God;
--the word & deeds of God;
--the sayings of God;
--the attributes of God;

Too often the churches weakness and the Christians weakness is found in this one sin, 'we do not know God'.  We have not studied the Bible, nor Him to learn more of Him.  Seeking that this might be a help for myself and others in this pursuit that each of us 'may grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord.

NAHUM
Chapter 1
1:2      God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on His adversaries, and He reserveth wrath for His enemies.     God is jealous;  God revenges (2);   God is furious;  I will's of God to take vengeance on His adversaries;  God's adversaries;  God reserves wrath for His enemies;  God's enemies;
1:3      The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked:  the Lord hath His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet.     God is slow to anger;  God is great in power;  I will's of God to not acquit wicked;   God has His way;  God's way;   God's feet;
1:4      He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers;      God rebukes sea;  God makes dry and drieth up all rivers;
1:5     The mountains quake at Him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at His presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.     God causes mountains to quake;  God melts the hills;  God's presence burns the earth and all that dwell therein;
1:6      Who can stand before His indignation?  and who can abide in the fierceness of His anger?  His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by Him.      God's indignation; God's fierce anger;  God's fury poured out;  God throws down rocks;
1:7      The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him.    God is good;  God is a strong hold;  God knows those that trust in Him;  God trusted in;   
1:8       but with an overrunning flood He will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue His enemies.    I will's of God to make an utter end;   God's enemies pursued;
1:9      What do ye imagine against the Lord?  He will make an utter end:     God cannot have anything imagined against Him;   I will's of God to make an utter end;
1:11      There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the Lord, a wicked counsellor.    God has evil one come against Him;
1:12     Thus saith the Lord; Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be cut down, when He shall pass through.  Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.    And God said/spoke;   God passes through (?);   God afflicted;  I will's of God to afflict them no more;
1:13      For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.     I will's of God to break yoke;   I will's of God to burst bonds;
1:14       And the Lord hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown:  out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image:  I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.     the Lord commanded;   I will's of God to cut off idols; I will's of God to make grave;
1:15     Behold upon the mountains the feet of Him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace!     Messianic prophecy of Christ;  God's feet bringing good tidings and peace;
Chapter 2
2:2      For the Lord hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel;      God turns away their excellency;
2:13      Behold, I am against thee, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions:  and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.      God declares HE is against them;  And God said/spoke;  God is Lord of hosts;  I will's of God to burn chariots and send sword to devour; I will's of God to cut off;
Chapter 3
3:1      Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not;     God pronounces Woe upon city for lies and violence;
3:2 - 4    God declares what He sees, hear and knows to be in their wicked city;
3:5      Behold, I am against thee, saith the Lord of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness and the kingdoms they shame.       God declares HE is against them;   And God said/spoke;   God is Lord of hosts;  I will's of God to discover skirts;  I will's of God show their nakedness and shame to nations;
3:6      And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.     I will's of God to cast abominable filth upon them and make them vile;  I will's of God to set them as a gazingstock;
3:7    God declares what shall be and what shall come to pass; God asks questions;
3:8    God ask question;

HABAKKUK
Chapter 1
1:2     O Lord, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto Thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!      God is cried unto;  God is accused of not hearing;  God is cried unto of violence;   God is accused of not saving;
1:3       Why dost Thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance?      God is asked a question of why He has shown and caused these things to be made known to him;
1:5      Behold, ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously:  for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though ti be told you.    God calls them to behold what He shall do;  I will's of God to work a work, which they shall not believe, even though it is told them;
1:6      For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not their's.     God raises up Chaldeans;   God declares what they shall do;
1:7 - 11    God declares what they shall do;
1:12   Art thou not from everlasting, O Lord my God; mine Holy One?   we shall not die.  O Lord, Thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, Thou hast established them for correction.     God's Name - Holy One; God is from everlasting; God ordains for judgement; God's Name - O mighty God; God establishes them for correction;
1:13      Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity:  wherefore lookest Thou upon them, that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?     God's eyes are pure;  God looks not on iniquity; God looks upon them that deal treacherously;  God accused of  holding His tongue against wicked;
1:14      And makes men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, taht have no ruler over them?    God accused and questioned of making men as numerous as fishes and as the creeping things with no ruler over them;
Chapter 2
2:1     I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see waht He will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.      I will's of God to say unto him;  God to be answered for being reproved;  God reproves;
2:2       And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.      And God said/spoke;   God gives directive to write the vision and make it plain for them that read it;
2:3       but at the end it shall speak, and not lie:  though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come it will not tarry.      God foretells the vision shall come to pass;   God declares it shall happen;
2:6     God pronounces Woe upon the wicked;
2:9     God pronounces Woe upon evil ones who covet;
2:12    God pronounces Woe upon city built by blood; and iniquity;
2:13     Behold, is it not of the Lord of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?      God is Lord of hosts;  God cause them labor in fire and weary themselves for vanity;
2:14      For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.     God's glory shall fill knowledge of earth;
2:15     God pronounces Woe those that do evil to neighbour;
2:16     the cup of the Lord's right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory.     God's cup;  God's right hand turned to cause them shame;
2:19   God pronounces Woe unto them that trust and look unto idols;
2:20      But the Lord is in His holy temple:  let all the earth keep silence before Him.    God's holy temple;  God is in His Holy temple;  God declares for all the earth to keep silence before Him;
Chapter 3
3:2     O Lord, I have heard Thy speech, and was afraid:  O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known:: in wrath remember mercy.      God is prayed to and called upon; God's speech heard and caused fear;  God pleaded with to revive His work; God pleaded with to remember mercy rather than wrath;
3:3     God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran.  Selah.  His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of His praise.    God came from Teman; God is Holy One and came from mount Paran;  God's glory covered heavens;  God's praise was full in earth;   
3:4     And His brightness was as the light; He had horns coming out of His hand:  and there was the hiding of His power.    God's brightness as light;    God had horns coming out of His hand;  God's hand; God's power hiding;
3:5    Before Him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at His feet.    God sent before Him pestilence;  God's feet went forth burning coals;  
3:6       He stood, and measured the earth:  He beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills did bow:  His ways are everlasting.      God stood and measured earth; God beheld;  God drove asunder nations; God scattered mountains;  God made hills to bow; God's ways are everlasting;   
3:8       Was the Lord displeased against the rivers?  was Thine anger against the rivers?  was Thy wrath against the sea, that Thou didst ride upon Thine horses and Thy chariots of salvation?     God is asked questions;  God displeased against rivers;  God's anger;  God's wrath;  God rode upon His horses and His chariots of salvation; 
3:9      Thy bow was made quite naked, according to the oaths of the tribes, even Thy word.  Selah.  Thou didst cleave the earth with rivers.      God's bow;  God's word; And God said/spoke;  God did cleave earth by water;
3:10      The mountains saw Thee, and they trembled:  the overflowing of the water passed by; the deep uttered His voice, and lifted up His hands on high.           God seen by creation; God's voice uttered;  God's hand lifted up;
3:11       stood still in their habitation:  at the light of Thine arrows they went, and at the shining of Thy glittering spear.    God's arrows; God's glittering spear;
3:12       Thou didst march through the land in indignation, Thou didst thresh the heathen in anger.      God marched through land in indignation; God threshed heathen in anger;   
3:13       Thou wentest forth for the salvation of Thy people, even for salvation with Thine anointed; Thou woundedst the head out of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation unto the neck.  Selah.           God went forth to save HIs people;   God's people;  God's anointed for salvation; God wounded head of wicked;   
3:14       Thou didst strike through with His staves the head of His viillages; they came out as a whirlwind to scatter me:  their rejoicing was as to devour the poor secretly.     God struck through with His staves;  God's staves; God's villages;  
3:15      Thou didst walk through the sea with Thine horses, through the heap of great waters.     God walked through with HIs horses;  God's horses;
3:16      when He cometh up unto the people, He will invade, them with His troops.    God comes up to His people;  I will's of God to invade with His troops;  God's troops;
3:18      Yet, I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.     God to be rejoiced in; God of my salvation to have joy in; 
3:19      The Lord God is my strength, and He will make my feet like hinds' feet, and He will make me to walk upon mine high places.    God is my strength;  I will's of God  to make my feet like hinds' feet; I will's of God to make me walk upon high places;

ZEPHANIAH
Chapter 1       
1:1      The word of the Lord which came unto Zephaniah       And God said/spoke;  God's Word comes to His prophet;   
1:2      I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the Lord.    I will's of God to utterly consume all things of the land;  And God said/spoke;
1:3    I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the Lord.     I will's of God to consume man and beast;  I will's of God to consume birds and fishes and stumblingblocks of wicked;  I will's of God to cut off man from land;  And God said/spoke;
1:4      I will also stretch out Mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;     I will's of God to stretch out His hand upon them;  God's hand stretched out against them; I will's of God to cut off remnant of Baa and Chemarims;
1:5       and them that worship and that swear by the Lord, and that swear by Malcham;    God's Name worshipped and swore by along with false god;
1:6       And them that are turned back from the Lord; and those that have not sought the Lord, nor enquired for Him.     God is turned back from;  God is not sought; God is not enquired of;
1:7      Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord God:  for the day of the Lord is at hand:  for the Lord hath prepared a sacrifice, He hath bid His guests.     God's Presence;  God's day at hand;  God prepared a sacrifice;  God bid His guests;  God's guests;
1:8       And it shall come to pass in the day of the Lord's sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.     God's day of sacrifice;  I will's of God to punish them;
1:9      IN the same day also will I punish all those taht leap on the threshold, which fill their master's houses with violence and deceit.     I will's of God to punish the wicked;   
1:10     And ti shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills.     And God said/spoke;    God brings it to pass;
1:12       And it shall come to pass, at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees:  that say in their heart, The Lord will  not do good, neitehr will He do evil.      God bring it to pass;   I will's of God to search Jerusalem and punish evil men;  I will's of God to not good nor evil, falsely accused;
1:13    God's punishment against them;
1:14      The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord:  the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.     God's great day is near and hasteth;  God's day His voice utters; 
1:15 - 16   God's day filled with horror;
1:17       And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord:  and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.      I will's of God to bring distress upon men; God sinned against;  God declares their death;
1:18       Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy:  for HE shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.      God's day of wrath with no deliverance; God's jealousy shall devour the land; God make a speedy riddance of them;
Chapter 2
2:2      Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the Lord come upon you, before the day of the Lord's anger come upon you.      God's fierce anger come upon;   God's day of anger come upon;
2:3      Seek the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought His judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness:  it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord's anger.      God to be sought;   God's judgements wrought; God's day of anger pass over His servants;
2:5      Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the Lord is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.      God pronounces Woe;   God's word against them;   I will's of God to destroy them;    
2:7        for the Lord their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.     God to visit them;   God to turn away their captivity;
2:8       I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached My people      God hears their reproach and revilings;  God's people reproached;
2:9       Therefore as I live, saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom. . . and a perpetual desolation:  the residue of My people shall spoil them, and the remnant of My people shall possess them.     God lives;  And God said/spoke;   God is Lord of Hosts, God of Israel;  God pronounces them to be perpetual desolation;   God's people to spoil them;   God's people to possess them;
2:10      This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the Lord of hosts.     God is Lord of hosts;   God's people reproached and magnified against;
2:11       The Lord will be terrible unto them:  for He will faminish all the gods of the earth: and men shall worship Him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.     I will's of God to be terrible unto them;   I will's of God to faminish all the gods of the earth;   God to be worshipped;  
2:12    God pronounces death to Ethiopians;
2:13       And He will stretch out His hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation and dry like a wilderness.     I will's of God to stretch out His hand against north;  
I will's of God to make Nineveh a desolation and wilderness;
2:14     desolation shall be int he thresholds; for He shall uncover the cedar work.     God pronounces desolation upon them;   God shall uncover cedar work;
2:15   God pronounces what their end shall be.   
Chapter 3
3:1       Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!     God pronounces Woe;  
3:2       She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the Lord; she drew not near to her God.      God declares what they did wrong;  God not trusted in;  God not drew near to;
3:5       The just Lord is in the midst thereof: He will not do iniquity; every morning doth He bring His judgment to light, He faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.     God is just;  God is in midst of them;  I will's of God to not do iniquity;  God brings HIs judgement to light;  God fails not;  
3:6      I have cut off the nations:  their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by:  their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.     God cut off the nations;   God made streets waste and none passes by; God destroyed cities and there is no man, no inhabitant;    
3:7      I said, Surely thou wilt fear Me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them; but they rose early and corrupted all their doings.     And God said/spoke;  God to be feared;   God punished them;   
3:8       Therefore wait ye upon Me, saith the Lord, until the day that I rise up to the prey:  for My determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them Mine indignation, even all My fierce anger:  for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of My jealousy.      God to be waited upon;  And God said/spoke;   God rise up on that day;  God's determination to gather nations;  God assembles the kingdoms;   God's indignation to be poured out upon them;  God's fierce anger;  God's jealousy devoured by fire;
3:9      For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the Name of the Lord, to serve Him with one consent.     I will's of God to turn people to pure language;  God's Name to be called upon;  God to be served with one consent;
3:10      From beyond the rivers of Ethiopian My suppliants, even the daughter of My dispersed, shall bring  Mine offering.    God's suppliants;  God's dispersed;  God's offering;
3:11       IN that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against Me:  for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice n thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of My holy mountain.     God transgressed against;   God's holy mountain;
3:12      I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord.     I will's of God to leave in midst of them an afflicted and poor people;  God's Name to be trusted in;
3:15      The Lord hath taken away thy judgments, He hath cast out thine enemy:  the king of Israel, even the Lord, is in the midst of thee:  thou shalt not see evil any more.     God takes away judgements;  God cast out enemy;  God is King of Israel and Lord;   God in midst of them;  
3:17       The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over thee with singing.     God is in midst of thee;  God is mighty;  I will's of God to save;  I will's of God to rejoice over them with joy;  I will's of God to rest in His love;  God's love;  I will's of God to joy over them with singing;
3:18       I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly     I will's of God to gather them for solemn assembly;
3:19      Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee:  and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out: and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.      I will's of God to undo those that afflict HIs people;  I will's of God to save those that halt and gather those drive out;  I will's of God to get praise and fame for His people;
3:20      At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you:  for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the Lord.      I will's of God to bring them again;  God to gather them;  I will's of god to make them a Name and praise among earth;  God turns back captivity;   And God said/spoke;

HAGGAI
Chapter 1
1:1       came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet. . . saying,    God's word comes to His prophet;   And God said/spoke;
1:2      Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the Lord's house should be built.     And God said/spoke;   God heard what they said;   God's house to be built;
1:3      Then came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying,     God's word comes to His prophet;   And God said/spoke;
1:4    God asks a question of them about His house;
1:5     Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, Consider your ways.     And God said/spoke;   God is Lord of hosts; God gives declarative for them to consider their ways;
1:6    God declares their ways;
1:7      Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways.    And God said/spoke;   God is Lord of hosts;  God gives declarative for them to consider their ways;
1:8     Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the Lord.      God gives directive to go and bring and build;  I will's of God to take pleasure in it;  PLEASE GOD; I will's of God ot be glorified;  And God said/spoke;
1:9      Ye looked for much, and, lo it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it.  Why?  saith the Lord of host6s.  Because of Mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.     God sees and knows and reveals what they did and do;  God blew upon/  And God said/spoke;  God's house waste;   
1:10   God judges them;
1:11     And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth. . . .       God calls for drought;
1:12        obeyed the voice of the Lord their God and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the Lord.    God's voice obeyed;   God sent words to His prophet;   God feared by His people;
1:13      Then spake Haggai the Lord's messenger in the Lord's message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the Lord.     God's messenger;  God's message;   And God said/spoke;   God is with them (Immanuel) ;
1:14       And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel . . . the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,      God stirs up spirit of Zerubbabel and people;   God's people come and work;  God's house worked on; God is Lord of hosts;
Chapter 2
2:1     came the word of the Lord by the prophet Haggai, saying,      God's word comes to His prophet;  And God said/spoke;
2:2      Speak now to Zerubbabel. . . and Joshua.. . . and the residue of the people, saying,    God gives directive to speak to His leaders and people;  And God said/spoke;
2:3    God asks 3 questions;   
2:4     YEt now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the Lord; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Jesedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the Lord, and work:  for I am with you, saith the Lord of hosts:       God gives directive for them to be strong;  And God said/spoke; (3);   God commands them to work;  God is with them;
2:5      According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so My spirit remaineth among you:  fear ye not.     God covenanted with them;  And God said/spoke;   God's Spirit remains with them;  God commands them to fear not;
2:6      For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;      And God said/spoke;   God is Lord of hosts;   I will's of God to shake everything;  
2:7       And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come:  and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts.    I will's of God to shake all nations;  I will's of God to fill this house with God's glory;  And God said/spoke;  God's Name - Lord of hosts;
2:8       The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, saith the Lord of hosts.     God owns silver and gold;  And God said/spoke; God's Name - Lord of hosts;
2:9       The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts:  and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts.     God declares about His house;  And God said/spoke (2);  I will's of God to give peace ot this place;   God's Name - Lord of host (2);
2:10      came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying,      God's word comes to His prophet;  And God said/spoke;   
2:11      Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,     And God said/spoke;   God's Name - Lord of hosts;  God gives directive to ask priest concerning law;
2:12 - 13    God asks question;
2:14      Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before Me, saith the Lord; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.      God's people before Him, He sees and knows their uncleanness and lack of holiness;   And God said/spoke;   
2:15       a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the Lord:    God's temple;
2:17      I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to Me, saith the Lord.     God smote them with blasting and mildew and hail; God sees and knows those that turn not to Him; And God said/spoke;
2:18      Consider now. . . even from the day that the foundation of the Lord's temple was laid, consider it.     God gives direction to consider (2);   God's temple foundation laid;
2:19    hath not brought forth; for this day will I bless you.     I will's of God to bless them;  
2:20      And again the word of the Lord came unto Haggai . . . saying,     God's word comes to His prophet;  And God said/spoke;    
2:21       Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;      God gives directive to speak to Zerubbabel;   And God said/spoke;   I will's of God to shake heaven and earth;     
2:22      And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.      I will's of God to overthrow kingdoms;  I will's of God to destroy strength of kingdoms;  I will's of God to overthrow chariots, those that ride in them and horses and riders;  
2:23      In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, My servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the Lord and will make thee as a signet:  for I have chosen thee, saith the Lord of hosts.     And God said/spoke (3);  God's Name - Lord of hosts (2);   God declares what shall happen in that day - Omnipresent, Omniscient; I will's of God to take Zerubbabel and make him a signet;   God's servant;  I will's of God to make him a signet;  God chose him;
