PRAYER EMAIL - TAKE HEED

 Greetings,

"Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently. . . " Deuteronomy 4:9
"Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; . . . "  Deuteronomy 4:15
"Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God. . . "  Deuteronomy 4:23

Five seconds inside eternity, we all will wish we had 'taken heed' to ourselves, every day, every moment.  The very fall of our nation and homes and society and the powerlessness in the church today is due to this warning from Moses here in Deuteronomy.  And it is not just Moses speaking it in context to Israel, but it is found throughout all the Bible with this constant warning from God, to 'take heed'.    Take heed to what?

Take heed to:
--our daily living, that we walk by faith and for His glory and not self and sin;
--choices that we make, that it is God's will and not our's;
--spiritual disciplines, that we not let them slip;
--to our prayer life that we be faithful in all things that He has led us to pray about and for and against;

Every Christian brother and sister that backslides, falls away, falls into sin, practices sin, and ceases to do that which is right and good in His sight is because of one cause, 'they did not take heed'.  Every church door that shuts forever, every pastor that leaves the ministry, every family that is broken apart and every nation that falls is because of one thing, 'they did not take heed' to the good and right way of the Lord.  Every preacher and minister seems to tout and claim the promises of God, but do they know the warnings for every soul?   The warning is clear, 'take heed'.  

We are in a bad way in this present hour, as the church.   The church has a Divine existence in the Lord God.  God empowers us through Christ by His Holy Ghost.  Yet when men cease taking heed, the power of God is removed and limited; a high warning also from God to not 'limit the HOly One'.   But  men in their human vanity still need results, they need numbers, they need those stats to justify themselves, which is pride.  And out of that need for numbers, they will turn away from God, continue to stop 'taking heed' to Him and His ways, and they will turn to their own ways.  They convince themselves that they are right in doing it, and some will even say they have the favor of the Lord to do it.  But alas! they know not that they have fallen prey to Satan's trap of the most diabolical sin against God -- Humanism!

They pronounce with their words, "I can do all things through Christ Jesus which strengthens me.'  But their resolve and reactions are humanism, 'I can do all things", and they leave off their faith and trust in God alone.   I believe it has been proven over and over by God's people, 'that I can do more on my knees through the power of prayer, than all the efforts and works of men.'   WE know this truth, and we mostly agree with this; then why has the church stopped taking heed to the ways of the Lord?   Why have they sought to come up with inventions, and new methods and means of men to replace God?   Either God is sufficient in all His ways and will, or He is not.  Take heed that your actions are the same as your words.   

oh, church all we need is God!  Take heed that you do not try to have God, plus something else man made.  Ravenhill quote, 'if you have God, you don't need anything else; but if you don't have God, then you need everything else.'   Why?  Because God's people did not take heed to their ways.  They were not aware that God was removed, Samson wist not that the Spirit of God was gone from him.   And he went out as other times and fell into the hands of the enemy.  Why?  Because he did not take heed!   

In regards to the elections and our future, the church has not taken heed to their ways of prayerlessness, lack of evangelism, lack of mission support, lacking of prevailing prayer.  And now they seek to rally to elect an official.  Have you forgotten the Word of the Lord?   Daniel 2:20 - 22, "God removes kings, God places kings' for His purpose and will and way.   Trust in this my beloved!  Take heed, lest you be fighting against God.   For I tell you that I can accomplish more in my secret prayer closet for the elections and for the future of our nation than all the promoting, planning and parading that is going on.  Did we not learn anything form Jerry Falwell's "Moral Majority" in the 1980's?  Humanism vs. Faith.  

And the very reason that men labor for their official to be elected, is because they did not take heed in the prayer closet.   The cause of our nations EPIDEMICS of death, judgement, and destruction is solely because we did not take heed to prevail in prayer in our nation.  The Return, a few weeks ago; Carter Conlon's "Its Time to Pray' this past week, were great things, needful things.   But why did it take us so long to do that which God had told us to do all along?   Because we did not take heed to our ways.   We let go the time of solemn assemblies; we let go the public confession of sins of our nation, church and lives.   And men did not hear from the church that which was right and wrong.   And they were left for 'every man to do that which was right in his own sight'.    

We are on a road to recover what we have lost after so many decades apart from Him.  Losing that which was most needful, the fullness of the Presence and power of God upon His church.  And now as we seek to be obedient in all things, we seek to walk rightly, we seek Him; then this one warning I give, 'Take Heed'.   Do not let the ways of the Lord slip in your personal walk, in your family, and within the church.   Be obedient to the heavenly vision.   He is sufficient for the hour of our need.   He is able!

Monthly call for Concerts of Prayer, that we have promoted for a year and a half.   Embrace the monthly time to fast and pray for our nation and the state of the church.  For as the church goes, so goes the nation.   And we are to return with a passion to prevail as we fast and pray corporately.   
Promote the Concert of Prayer; and participate in the Concert of Prayer.

PRAYER TARGETS:

EPIDEMICS - 
1.  Drugs/Alcohol - death and destruction are raging against the lives, minds and hearts of every family with addiction; and with 100,000's;  their eternity hangs in the balance and their lives here are in serious jeopardy.   

2.  LGBT - great abomination, coupled with abortion; will lead and has led to the demise of our nation;  such sins must be atoned for;  such sins God holds in contempt of Himself and will pour out wrath and judgement, for the brazenness of men to call this ok; and for the church for their sin of silence, and compromising with it;   

3.  Children - continued revelations of abuse - physical, sexual, emotional; neglect; raised in sin, rather than raised in godliness;  pray for what they are in; pray for godly leaders to teach them and draw them unto Christ, rather than hell;   this is the spiritual warfare of our day;

4.   Natural Disasters - another hurricane to hit gulf coast;  record number this season to hit US mainland; record amount of storms in Atlantic Ocean;  wildfires in CA hit 4 million acres, record, stat;  earthquakes have been quiet, 7.0 and 8.0 are well overdue and growing fearful of impact on populated areas;   

5.  Plagues - covid stats continue steady rise world wide;  rapid increase in INdia, Europe and South America;  US is consistent in cases and deaths per day;     cancers, STD's, etc. diseases poured out on our physical and mental abilities due to judgements;  

6.  Great Evil - murders/suicides/murder-suicides -  "Blood defiles the land";  stats are staggering for record setting pace this year;  grateful to see a leveling off after record setting summer months;  but still the evil persists daily on our streets, in our cities and in the minds and hearts of men;  This is where the battle is fought and won.    Last week a suicide of a young boy in hampshire county; this week suicides here in Keyser.   Major warfare here to be fought and won!   Crossed homicides in US by gun shootings, over 14,000.   So far 2 police officers shot and killed this month.   Mass shootings continue around 2 per day.

--bible readings - up through Deuteronomy;  no word/phrase studies this time; but each day in readings and studies, I am finding so many of the "R" words that I missed, about 2 per day;  that was a very hard study but very feeding to my mind and soul;
--The Activity of God - up through Ezekiel 27;  progressing rapidly; 
--A Word - Isaiah is finished;  this past week finished verses in chapter 63;  now chapter 56 - 58, chapter 63 - 66 are all done;  chapters 59 - 62 is project now;  I will be starting into Jeremiah;
--live streams on Sunday services; Monday night bible study; and Thursday Hour of Prayer;

100 HOURS OF PRAYER - DEC. 2023

Prayer Email - 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC - III

Greetings, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint."  Luke 18:1  In the last month, we have had a Solemn Assembly for our local churches; followed by '100 Hours of Prayer' for the local churches & many of you, my prayer partners on this prayer email joined us.  And now we come to this last protracted time of prayer, 100 Hours of Prayer for SBC.  God sets His people to pray for His purposes and His will to be done.  And yet, prayer is hard to find among the churches today.  Many know they should pray, but refuse to make time.  Many desire to pray better, but have no teaching on how to pray.  Neither are they around seasoned prayer warriors that can impart what they have learned.  And much of the evil and wickedness of today in our nation, cities and homes, is because, we, as God's people have ceased praying.
