"I sought for a man to stand in the gap, but I found none. . ." "And He saw that there was no man. . ." God is still looking. "This is the man to whom I will look," He says. He describes the one He looks upon with favor—not those who are wayward, in sin, or living contrary to Him—but those who do what is right in His sight. Pride is a deep-rooted sin—rampant in our society, our homes, and even in our churches. A true self-examination of our walk with Christ often reveals how pride keeps resurfacing, even after repentance. We see pride flaunted in every corner of society, but the one place it should never be found is in the Church—especially not in the pulpit. When revival comes, it will require that pride be crucified. Each of us must cast it away, that we may truly humble ourselves before our Lord and before one another. True humility is honored by God.
