  Greetings, ". . . but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at My word." – Isaiah 66:2 CALL TO THE SBC TO PRAY & FAST FOR REVIVAL IN THE CHURCH AND A SPIRITUAL AWAKENING AMONG THE LOST MASSES 1st Thursday of each month – September 4 Several times in Scripture, God reveals that He is looking for someone to stand in the gap: "My eyes run to and fro throughout all the earth, looking. . ." "I sought for a man to stand in the gap, but I found none. . ." "And He saw that there was no man. . ." God is still looking. "This is the man to whom I will look," He says. He describes the one He looks upon with favor—not those who are wayward, in sin, or living contrary to Him—but those who do what is right in His sight. Greetings, "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up."  — James 4:10 1st Thursday of each month — A Call to Prayer & Fasting for the Southern Baptist Convention Our two main prayer focuses for this sacred time are: Revival within the Church A spiritual awakening among the lost masses The Christian life is built on humility. Pride is a deep-rooted sin—rampant in our society, our homes, and even in our churches. A true self-examination of our walk with Christ often reveals how pride keeps resurfacing, even after repentance. We see pride flaunted in every corner of society, but the one place it should never be found is in the Church—especially not in the pulpit. When revival comes, it will require that pride be crucified. Each of us must cast it away, that we may truly humble ourselves before our Lord and before one another. True humility is honored by God.
